So.... when they don't paste updates they're not keeping the player base informed of progress.

When they do post updates and screenshots of progress, they are teasing?

With the pilot's head turned, does that mean pilot's heads are going to follow what the actually controller is looking at? That'd be such a small, but awesome detail.

One request please though about the pilot... can you please move his arms forward a little. I've never seen aony fly a plane or drive a car with their arms completely at their sides straight down. =) Even if you just move his arms forward at 10-20 degrees I think it'd look a LOT better than just "lego man" look he's got (i.e. straight up and down). Otherwise though, like the new pilot look =)

Tough call, many a plane, holding the stick was like holding your johnson.  At the same time, with movement of the stick, I have to agree with you about 10-20.   :aok

I wonder if you can use the pilot of the D.VII as an air brake, he's tall enough that his head appears to be the same height as the top wing.

I'd bet that the head turns are controlled by the roll axis. Take a look at the last picture. Ailerons are showing he's about to roll to the right and his head is pointed to the right.

Edit: In fact look at the last Sopwith Camel picture, same thing.

Edit2: Also since you can't see control surface movement in the film viewer(I think?), we know these are in-game shots. So he has to be taking these pictures from the external view where he can't be changing his internal head position.

well,  :headscratch:

i don't like the modells, the fokker looks damn ugly. I got Rise of Flight, which got a big lack of online gaming(they still working on a MMO arena) but the Graphics and the FM are outstanding!!!!!!

So i hope after all the lost years with the combat tour, now the ongoing ww1 stuff HTC will go back and concentrate on WW2, thats what most ppl are paying for

 :(

Will the Spad and Nieuport fighters be available? the SPAD S.VII was a great fighter from this era. Maybe even the American version of the Airco DH 4a. Yes, I know it was built by the British but the American version had 2  .303 marlin machine guns and 2 rear mounted lewis guns and I believe the engine was different that the British version had. Just asking

HTC's business would fail if the game had the minimum system requirements of RoF.  Just the modest graphics upgrade we had last year caused a lot of teeth gnashing.  RoF is a beautiful game though.  I'm curious to see if HTC's DM upgrade lowers FPS like some have claimed the DM does in RoF.

Again, anyone know which engine HTC is putting in the Fokker DVII?

4523/18 was OAW built mid-production aircraft flown by Rudolf Stark of Jasta 35b during October 1918. Looking at a couple of profiles, it looks like the engine sits flush with the fuselage which indicates it's a Mercedes. Of course the 3D-model doesn't determine what parameters Pyro uses to compute the flight model, but if I had to make a bet I'd say it will be powered with a regular Mercedes D.III.

That would be a pity.  I was very happy to see that RoF is about to release a BMW powered DVII.

That would be a pity.

Well I don't know about that. I fully expect the F.2B and Camel to be modelled with one of the more common engines rather than the rare, most powerful ones.

The D.VII is looking good, Waffle! :)

Just a couple suggestions:

- As it has been mentioned, the pilot looks quite big/sitting quite high. :) Maybe it could sit a bit lower?

A pic:

- The turtle neck behind the pilot should be a bit shallower and reach from one fuselage side to the other. As far as I know the basic fuselage geometry remained the same in all production batches as far as the turtle neck is concerned.

A pic:

There are lines in the top projections of some drawings from where one might mistakenly interpret the geometry to be like you've depicted it but the lines actually show edges where the top rear fuselage plywood decking ends. It was flush with the rest of the fuselage, though. (Also note the asymmetrical positioning of the vertical stab.)

D.VII will be my ride in the skies of the Great War. :)

Well I don't know about that. I fully expect the F.2B and Camel to be modelled with one of the more common engines rather than the rare, most powerful ones.

What's going to happen is that the DVII will be barely used next to the Camel and Dr1, same as in RoF...  That seems to be the big reason for their introduction of the BMW powered variant, and it's the variant that made the plane famous. :)

Edit:  There's also a big difference between a Mercedes DIIIa and a DIIIau... At the very least I'd hope for the latter in the DVII.

Yep, I'm aware of that. D.IIIau was an over compressed "altitude engine" like the BMW.
