5k base might be nice...valleys, tall trees, bridges to fly under, etc

That's an excellent idea, and we should build on it to supplement the arena.  If a few squadrons agree to run observation flights and to try to prevent the enemy from running them, we have a game.  We could even keep informal score by reporting successful "photo recons".  Maybe even post screenshots of the objectives :)

@ 5k,
first loop or hard turn and its a toilet paper roll all the way to the ground.
for that matter, this could happen @ 100 feet as well.

I think i would really give this arena some time if the crates were more durable. (weather it is realistic or not) i dont care.
I'M trying my best to change my attitude about this arena but it's tough.

You have to remember, your in a kite, not a aluminum riveted airplane.

Fabric wings over wood frames, and covered in dope. They are fragile, be gentle!

I know.  Like, it would be so much better if you could sit at 10k in yur Typh and wait for some unsuspecting tard in a DR1 to engage a D7 so you can swoop down and and take him out with yur uber cannon hammer.

Good times.

A SPAD XII with the 37mm Hotchkiss gun wouldn't be too far off from this....

Hmm I've only ripped my wings off one time, and that was the first day in a D7. Once you learn to fly and fight structural integrity of the aircraft isn't an issue, unless you have taken hits to the airframe.

exactly, you learn what the sounds are, youll know when youve pushed it to far once you do that (that creeking noise ya hear), just work your throttle, ive never seen planes where you are constantly working the throttle hard in dogfights, cutting that throttle really get that kite dancing, much more enjoyment than MA's
