Title: How about a hint?
Post by: RaptorL on March 24, 2010, 10:44:59 AM
I was wondering if the HTC team could give us a clue on what we could expect to come next in Aces High.

No, no, no, you guys screwed up by using those cheap spy-cams when spying on HTC. They make a really funky distorted image because of their fisheye lenses! It totally distorts what the cockpit and plane looks like!

Here, this is a much less distorted view of what HTC is working on:

Cockpit:

And a much less distorted view of the greenhouse nose from the outside:

As can be seen, there's joint in the yoke. It can be turned over to the right seat.

But we NEED a plane that can stay airborne for 20+ hours in the main arena - at fuel burn 2.0!  :D

The next update will feature troops that continually ask " Are we there yet?"

I was think more all the lines of a random quote generator for the Troops on 200 like;

Troops: "[Player X] is nothing but a troop picker"
or
Troops: " HOing a man with a 45 is lame"
or
Troops: "Anyone can kill Troops in a [fill in the blank], that doesn't take any skillz!"

and for the occasional augger trying to kill troops,

Troops: "I pwn'ed you"

 :lol

Grunt 1: Where the [bleep] are we anyway?
Grunt 2: Well the pilot thought we were heading to your mother's house. So far this looks familiar.
Grunt 1: Yeah, that's really cute Jackson.
Grunt 2: Anytime, anywhere!
(pause)
Grunt 1: Hey man, you smell that?
Grunt 2: Smell what?
Grunt 1: Smells like... like another babysittin' job to me, man!
Grunt 2: Heh heh, no [bleep] man!
Grunt 3: Babysittin' job my [bleep]! This has training mission written all over it! Why else would they have kept our orders from us for so long?
Grunt 1: Yeah, what the [bleep] was that all about? Throwing our [bleep] in this hunk of junk without even telling us what we're going in for!
Jump instructor: DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, PRIVATE? I will give you your orders when we reach the LZ. You got that, soldier?
Grunt 1: Sir, yes sir!
Grunt 2: I don't give a damn what we're goin' in for, long as I get to kill me something!
Grunt 4: I heard that!
(pause)
Grunt 1: Man, if this is another search and rescue operation, I'm going to be pissed.
Grunt 2: Yeah, I'm gonna be pissed too, when I gotta search out and rescue YOUR sorry [bleep].

And if you lose a goon, across the radio comes "HOLEEE S***! Goose 3 is down! Goose 3 is down!"

Now I wonder just how many will get this reference.

My guess is maybe one or two more patches fixing bugs and other small stuff. Then, a new version introducing maybe couple redone planes and the new damage model for WWII planes and if we are lucky couple totally new planes aswell.

When HiTech releases the yak3, He111 and Beau at the same time. All yalls better send that man a truck load of Scotch and make about 300 pages of apologies in this Forum. You all whined for the WWI arena and look, not even 10 days and its down to maybe 50 players at prime time with 3 or 4 after 9pm PST.

It's a fact as a marriage ages, males never understand that the first love addiction to their wife in bed came from their adrenal system and is designed to faid with time to help raise children. As they get older the need for that first addiction becomes an obsession with some who try to fill it with fast cars, boats, airplanes, drugs\alcohol and younger women while destroying thier family. Sadly, this obsession with recapturing that long lost feeling blinds the male to how wonderful and fortunate he is for the journy at hand.

HiTech you sure you don't want to put up a tiny arena with 6 planes, 16 colors, 2D terrain, text only and a crappy connection to illustrate just how GOOD these bozo's got it in 2010?

Post by: Ghosth on March 24, 2010, 08:39:16 PM
I agree with Bustr.

I guess one of the reasons I'm loving the WWI arena is that it reminds me a lot of the first AH beta.

Very small map, very limited planeset, small community where everyone pretty quickly earned a reputation, good, bad or otherwise. Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I like it like that.

Maybe I'm mis-understand your post, I'm just being realistic. Everytime HTC has gone out of their way to "give a hint" the peanut gallery has done almost nothing but give them grief about either the idea, or the time frame it takes to get it out.

I think too many people live in the "I want it NOW" world and can't be happy for "2 weeks" with what they have been given. To me ya'll sound like a bunch of spoiled brats.... and I mean that in a nice way  :P

Remember, I'm "Mr. Sarcasm".   :D

I agree with what you said exactly.  I find the "what's next", "throw us a bone" and "I want an official answer" threads rather a waste of time for both sides.

I was just thinking along the lines of what I said in another thread:

I'm just always amused by the "we'll wait to see what HTC says" questions because they never say.

that actually got a reply....  Reverse psychology.
