Title: Application for the HOers Club
Post by: Boozeman on March 27, 2010, 07:07:22 AM
Am I eligible?

Although I have been told that I'm a worthy HOer and possibly fine member of this elitist club, I still have my humble doubts.

Well, you decide!  :pray

As much as I like betty: She's is wrong on this one.

Boozeman cleanly beat Betty on this with deflection shots except for one instance: 1:22 of the frame.  However, that was a wild shot and I doubt anything landed as a result.

However, 1:09 Betty had the closest thing to a HO in the film.  She was getting beat pretty good and and went for the HO (closest to a HO) to turn momentum to her side.

I think if she see's the film it was more of her reaction to losing and blaming it as a HO, rather than acknowledge she was cleanly beatin.

Yes Betty, I still love you, but i disagree with you on this.  :old:

Why is it that little personal squabbles end up being tossed in here when everyone knows they will inevitably get locked due to the ensuing b.s.? Things like this fall very close to rule #8 and Romper Room antics are just not worth the aggravation are they?

IMO, the whole HO complaint thing is just plain ridiculous.

This is an air combat simulator.  You should expect your opponent to turn his/her guns toward you and shoot at you.  You shouldn't expect him/her to hold fire because they see your plane from a certain perspective.

It's your job to not get shot.  It's his/her job to shoot you.

Maybe next month we can find something more valid to complain about than somebody shooting at you in a combat simulation.

If I were to look at this film from a "Hoing is bad" perspective (which I don't), I certainly don't see anything unacceptable from your perspective.  For that matter, she took shots that were at least "equally HO", if not more-so.

But then, it was her job to shoot at you, and your job to shoot at her.  Where's the problem again?

I squeaked to DrBone about an HO in WW1.

Resulting in me apologizing the next day because it was uncalled for and inexcusable.  We all let our emotions take over sometimes.  I should have just kept my mouth shut, grabbed a plane and gone and got my butt kicked again.

Again, <S> DrBone.

I've been called a ho before.........  But then, again, if on merge, my enemy is dead 12 and level, I'm not going to think about it.......  My assumption is that this is their best effort.

Ho Them All!

LOL welcome to this weeks chapter of the FOREVER THREAD!!!   heheheh

Mntman and a few others here do have it right. However many seem to have the idea that if THEY are killed then it MUST be someone elses fault.

Too many are playing in the MA with some preconcieved idea that there are rules from the DA that must adheared to. <sigh> They need to accept the realities of what a combat air simulaton is all about : killing the other (virtually) while living yourself to fight another day. Sure ....use your superior skills you've learned in the DA but stop complaining when other (obviously less skilled in your view) players kill ya!! :rofl

If you're gonna square dance in a mosh pit don't be upset if ya get knocked around!!

OR...for the sports fans...

If you're gonna figure skate in a knock em down hockey game don't be surprised if ya get checked into the boards!!

Suck it up and move on....quietly please...IMHO.

.....cheers eh! :D

You dont have to HO anyone to belong to the "Stupid Club". Only to be a memeber of the "HOers club" But it doesnt hurt.

Boozeman you HO like the best of them good job

but seriously, what is classed as a HO

2 people from 5k out going directly head on
2 people in a turn fight who end up turning into eachother head on
or 1 person over shooting a turn and coming back around to face opponent head on
or 1 person going high for a stall turn dropping down on an opponent whos gritting his teath and kicking the toejam out of his plane to catch you up and u drop head on into him

who is the HOer ????

Post by: LLogann on March 27, 2010, 09:52:25 PM
Depends who you ask I would say.......  This one is my only definition.  AT 5k out with a head on coming I'm going to try and offset it........ If the enemy makes a course correction, I immediately assume the head on is coming and I will do it right back.

2 people from 5k out going directly head on

who is the HOer ????

I've been drinking sake for the last 6 hours but I'd call the rest some type of frontal deflection or another.

Gentlemen, I really did not intend this to be yet again a discusion about the pros and cons of HOing - I just wanted to know if there was a HO in that fight at all. So basically a simple Yes or No would suffice, but a little more detail is appreciated for sure.

I my opinion, neither of us did a HO. The closest things were 11 o'clock front quarter shots, but we both missed those, so for the outcome of the fight, they're irrelevant.
However, Betty very much insisted there was HOing involved, well, so I wanted to hear other opinions.

BTW, the <S> was a honest one, no bait whatsoever.

Betty always talks up her skill and talks down others. If you kill her its either a 'luck shot' or a 'ho'. Just brush it off, and kill her again.

Guess I'm a member..I LOVE to HO, I just don't pull the trigger. There's nothing more fun than screaming head on at a bogey who's blazing away then ducking, reversing and killing it.
