Anyone out there have a suggestion for a very, very quiet computer keyboard? I need something that is NOT a "membrane" and also NOT "virtual" i.e. a projection on the desktop.
Thanks! :salute

Are you trying to use it in a library? The only keyboard I have ever seen that makes almost no noise is one of those flexible keyboards. Other than that keyboards with scissor key mechanisms are quieter than most and there is a good selection.
I personally have a Saitek Cyborg that you cannot hear if you're not sitting in the same room. Takes a light touch and fast response...but it's $80.

Just get an i-pad... :bolt:

Logitech's "Perfect Stroke" (scissor key design) boards are the quietest I've seen. I've only used 1-2 Saiteks, a few Microsoft, some HP/Dell/E-machine ones and Logitech but so far the Scissor design is the quietest.
Few of em Logtech has:

$79.99 (http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/keyboards/keyboard/devices/4742)
There are other Silent ones from other brands I'm sure, these are just ones I've tried that were quiet. Or with a light touch normal ones can be near silent. :)

"Every stroke you make is comfortable, fluid, and whisper-quiet with the PerfectStroke™ key system."

Optimus Tactus keyboard is touch screen (like iPad) but Im not sure its at retailers yet. Same for the Amex TSK-VX7 which is really a Vista/Win7 specific keyboard (dont know why).
