I am a member of the 358th along with Chilli. It may be tough, but I think it would be cool to have weekly reports of the top Aces in the Ava instead of just Tour stats. Something like the FSO and SEC Stats. Anyone else think that is a good idea?
In the AVA, that sort of thing just isn't important. its about immersion, and about fun. you start bring rank into it, and suddenly you have the whole "MA-I'm the bestest fighter here" attitude. thats ok, we'd rather not have it. leave it for the MA's.
the other problem is the fso runs for 2 hours, the AVA is open 24X7. Those log files for the AVA would be massive. who's gonna go through them?
I think The AvA staff would like to have event logs, but it just isn't possible currently.
An aside, there are some sections of the AvA scoring page, especially for squad ranks and such, that aren't working properly.
Skuzzy is aware of the problems and it's on his fix it list.
Scores and stats for squads should all be good now. Let me know if otherwise.
When I go to "squad score", select AvA from drop down and type my name in, it still says jimson does not appear to be part of a squad. It's a good bet the correct information will be there next month...didn't you just rename your squad in the AvA?
When I go to "my squad rank" select AvA from drop down and enter my name, it still brings up my old squad.
No the most pressing matter for sure, but just letting you know.
...didn't you just rename your squad in the AvA?
Former FA pilots - Welcome to the Axis Vs Allies arena.
What is different about the AvA to the Main Arena's and the Special Event Arena? 5 things:
1. Setups last for a week - meaning the historical scenario runs typically from Wednesday night to the following Wednednesday.
2. Aircraft that are made available are based on realisitic Axis versus Allies scenario. I.e. Russia vs Finland / China vs Japan / Britain vs Germany
3. No enemy icons, full friendly (you can find your friends), friendly icons appear at 2.5k, wind, and other arena settings to assist in creating a realistic environment.
4. Weekly setups are sometimes based on week-long events such as squad vs squad, and Axis vs Allies wars.
5. We try it to keep it a professional arena - most players try to avoid HO's, vulching, and field milkrunning.
