I dont know if any have run across this, link was sent to me by a fellow vette enthusiast/airplane nut.

Very gritty look at a typical hard day on the line at Iwo, 1944-45.
You can almost feel the heat from that burning B-29.

I never realized how many aircraft crashed on Iwo Jima.  They seem to have a nack for taking out several others as they do on those packed airstrips.

Small island, - lots of aircraft.
BTW, that is why IWO was so important. While the losses of lives there were appalling, there was some gain too. After all it helped ending the war, and served well for emergencies.
