I see Moray you're from Fla. It's always funny to watch the games when Flyers are playing down there, there's more Flyer fans than Panthers, or Tbay, lol.
As our Motto States- RELENTLESS pursuit of the cup.

I have to say though, even if Philly makes it to the Stanley Cup finals, which it looks like they will, they don't have a chance against the Blackhawks.

Yeah, they haven't "had a chance" since the day before the last day of the season.
Great call on "no chance", considering the Flyers are undefeated vs the Blackhawks this season, btw.

Oh yeah that says a whole lot there, considering they only played each other 1 time and the final score was 2-3, what was I ever thinking.
The Hawks are the team to beat right now.

Yeah, I remember we said that in '92 also... against another Pennsylvania team. :huh
Philly deserves much credit... I look forward, and hope to see them in the finals...
along with the Blackhawks... of course! :aok

I don't think that they don't deserve any credit for getting to where they are right now, I just don't think any team can take the Hawks 4 games with the way they're playing right now, especially Antti Niemi.

Trax, you really haven't watched Niemi much, with that statement. He's prone to collapse, and lapses in positioning.. Philly is a full half a goal a game better in net, as well, during the playoffs. Flyer netminders have also combined for the best goals against of any team.
Chi- 2.57 Goals against.
Phi- 2.07 GA
Chicago also hasn't played a team that is as defensive minded as Philadelphia. Look at Montreal- they're stymied right now, after knocking off #1 and the defending champions.
Both teams have identical scoring per game at 3.29 Goals, and a .714 win% in the playoffs.
Both teams have a penalty kill at ~86%.
Flyers have a much better power play, @24.3%.
So, given identical scoring, but a much stronger defense and goal for the Flyers, and the advantage to the Flyers on the powerplay..... Philly wins this matchup on paper.

I've watched every game that Niemi has goal tended for the Hawks this season, he might be prone to collapse every now & then, which happens with every goalie, but just about every single time he has a bad game he comes back with a vengeance in the next one, go look at his record & see for yourself, & right now Niemi is playing unbelievably good, the last 2 games he's only allowed 3 goals on 72 shots, and 2 of those goals were power play goals, Philly hasn't even seen Niemi yet, the game they played in March Huet was tending. Hawks are gonna take the finals.

I'm not one to get into BBS debates, and/or arguments...
But, I can tell you this... throw everything out on paper.
If the Blackhawks and Flyers meet in the finals... it's going to be one "Hell" of a series!
On a limb... Blackhawks in 6. :pray

I completely agree.
Montreal does not play the same kind of physical hockey that Philly and Chicago do. Montreal may play a more pure game, perhaps, but not as bone-crushing as the Blackhawks or Flyers.
I haven't grown up in Chicago, but rough and tumble hockey has always been a tradition around here. I can't see it changing anytime soon.
-
Also Moray you want to talk about stats, during the regular season, which is also a better gauge of a team then just there playoff stats, the Hawks were the #3 ranked team for scoring with 3.2 & ranked 5th for GA with 2.5, while Philly was ranked 8th for GS with 2.8 & ranked 15th with 2.7 GA, the Hawks were also the #1 ranked team in both shots for & shots against.

Well, I was to my first Hawks game (back in the original Madhouse on Madison) at age seven with my Grandfather.
Not to give away my age...
Bobby Hull, Dennis Hull, Stan Makita, Phil Esposito, Ron "Chico" Maki, Pat Stapelton, Pierre Pilote, (and before Tony Esposito) Glenn Hall...
were in their twenty's, like this young bunch.
Only thing changing now... we got our fair share of bandwagon jumpers...
that still think Stan Makita's Donuts really is in Aurora, IL.

I sure hope either San Jose or Montreal advance. If I'm forced to choose between Hossa and the Flyers, I think my head might explode.

Well looks like San Jose has no chance being down 3-0, but if Montreal can tie it up today then that series is up for grabs.
And whats wrong with Hossa, the guy is an amazing hockey player, his puck control is unbelievable.
-
Well looks like Montreal is done for, unless they can make an amazing come back like they did vs. Washington, but the odds on that happening are slim to none, especially having been shutout in 3 of the 4 games so far.
-
Tonight we wrap it up. As I stated again, we will take it in 5. Tonight is the night to finish. Next we will take the Blackhawks, and bring home the cup :aok
Go Flyers :rock :rock :rock :rock

Blackhawks beat Montreal or Philadelphia in 5 games.

Nothing really, I'm just a Penguins fan. Before the playoffs started, I was hoping for a Pens-Chicago final so the Penguins could screw him out of a third cup in a row :D

Pens are for sure my #2 team.
Enough that I drove to Pittsburgh and back (5 hours +/- each way) in one day, just to see the parade :rock

Someone told Sid not to dive off of that platform and onto the street, right?
Chicago born, Philly raised... conflicted.
