If you are as avid a fisherman as I you would enjoy seeing pic's of catches from around the country and world. So I you go fishing and get hooked up with some nice catches post em up. I will have some pics after this weekend for sure of Halibut and hopefully some 30-40lb king salmon.

Actually I just got back from fishing. I'll post more in a bit when I'm done picking the ticks off me, breaking my poles in half, and drop kicking puppies.

(http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/TheAmish/08-18-08_1929.jpg) My oldest boy catch this Bass last weekend out of the pond. 3lbs or so, his personal best :)
-
Caught a musky on 6 lb crappie line and no leader. Plus a Quantum "ole' faithful" crappie pole :D
39" long and about 15 pounds. Won't show the photo for some reason, any advice?

OK, time to vent.
Monday night a buddy and I go out in the canoe to this little spot on the lake we have dialed in that we pretty much always have to ourselves with the exception of one other guy in a kayak because it's too shallow in most spots to get a boat into. Almost immediately something smokes me on a weedless spoon. After a brief but vigorous battle I boat the coolest looking Bowfin I have ever seen, the bottom half of the fish was iridescent green (through later research I learned this was his "plumage" for the spawn). I really wanted a picture, but it was a Bowfin, which is like the crazy meth-head of fish and as such he was not pleased about his current situation and was bleeding and crapping all over the boat so back he went ASAP. Knowing now that he was so beautifully demarcated due to the fact that he was "in the mood" I am actually quite happy that he didn't go for the bodily fluid hat trick. After that not much was going on the bigger baits but we were hammering the Bluegills with poppers and spiders on the fly rod. Approaching sunset I started throwing a Hula Popper, a bait I haven't used in years and just brought with on whim. After a bit there was a huge boil, and a tug of the line. The instant I hit him I knew it was a good fish, the very next instant I knew he should be taking line and wasn't. I had just enough time to say "OH SH" as I pointed the rod at him and reached for the drag and then "POP". I dropped an F-bomb which I'm sure echoed up the great Mississippi valley all the way to Winona. A few seconds later my plug floated up to the surface, and I had a new life lesson. Check your gear EVERY TIME you go out. The reel I was using has a finicky drag, and I know this, and had adjusted it last time out but that wasn't good enough. Since I never got a look at him, I tried to just write him off as a big a Bowfin, but then the guy in the Kayak had to tell me he lost and 8lber in the same spot earlier in the week...
Last night I go out to a spot I've been wanting to check out on shore. After the previous evenings debacle I swapped out spools for one with heavier line, and made sure the drag was kosher. Fishing was slow to say the least, and to add insult to injury my favorite Abu bait caster took a dump on me. Approaching dark I started throwing the Hula I had almost lost the night before. I looked away from the water for a second and all of a sudden felt tension. I snapped my head back to where my bait should have been but it had been replaced by a considerable boil, the rod tip started to go so I hit him and "SNAP", and this time the bait didn't come floating back up. I was too dumbfound to even blurt out profanities and hung my head in shame to see that the line had gone just above the bail, and there was some considerable abrasion on what was left of it. How the line was this bad this far back I have no clue, other than maybe it just happened to get under the spool at just the wrong time. Then when I got home I had to throw my clothes straight in the wash due to the fact I was crawling with ticks.
This evening I decide to grab some minnows and head to the dam to see if I can get into some Crappies. Got a Sheepshead and some dink Perch, and this adorable little fella who's eyes were bigger than his stomach. (http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1254/052600181100.jpg) After that I decided to brave the ticks and head back out to the spot from the previous evening. The clouds had dissipated and it was too bright out for topwaters so I started out throwing a Johnson Silver Minnow. After a bit I see a boil behind where my line is entering the water, I'm a cool cat, no buck fever here so I wait till I feel him and hit him. Feels like a good fish and he bulldogs while I try and turn him. All of a sudden he goes vertical, all the way out of the water, and spits the hook. He wasn't huge but maybe a 2&1/2lb Largemouth and while I was a bit miffed I didn't really care because he gave me a great show, It was basically like a live action version of the B.A.S.S. logo. Besides, I'm out there more for the experience of it than the fish, and you don't see that every day. A few more casts later and on the retrieve things go mushy, kinda like I'm pulling through weeds so I just keep reeling, and then the weeds give me a headshake. I rear back and can tell this is a good fish, and a couple seconds later he comes unbuttoned. Now I'm kind of bummed, but at least I know they are on the chow so I keep going. Maybe 20 minutes later I'm working as parallel to the shoreline rocks as I can when all of a sudden a wake which rivals that of some small boats appears behind my bait, the only thing I can compare it to is a follow from a Musky even though that is HIGHLY unlikely here. Even though I'm all alone I just blurt out "OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT", but remain cool, steady retrieve... The line jumps, then goes sideways and I hit him. It felt like I set the hook into a rock, an enormous boil, and then slack line... this one comes unbuttoned too. I have no clue what it was because I only got a fleeting glimpse but it was dark green on top, which leads me to believe either it was a Largemouth in the state record ballpark, or a Ski a long way from home. Needless to say I am now devastated. I check the hook and it's sharp, so I guess it's just watermelon for luck. Switched to the Hula once the sun hit the horizon and after a while with nothing to show I was about to pack it in when I turned to leave I noticed the moon had just come up, and its full or damn close. So I have a full moon rise, and sunset within minutes of each other. I can't leave now this is when legends are made. A few casts later another enormous boil erupts, but this fish is obviously as bad a fisherman as I because he misses the bait by almost a foot. About 5 casts after that God decides to **** me over one last time when my line and the skirt on the Hula join forces to tie some ridiculous knot around both hooks. At this point all I can do is laugh and go home to de-tick myself.
To say I'm dejected would be an understatement. The thought of spending the rest of the summer working on my golf swing has crossed my mind more than once. But at the same time I am optimistic as I have moved more truly big fish so far this season then I can remember over all the years on this lake, and at least one of those fish I can say with certainty would have crushed my 6lb 6oz PB Largemouth if that's what it was. But like I said, it's all about the experience, so I'll probably be out there again tomorrow night trying to finally convert on some of these big fish. Apologies for that huge wall of text that no one will probably read, just needed to get it off my chest lol.

I read it and enjoyed it Tec (oddly enough)
You should try fishing for Mullet here in the UK mate, light float road, light float, small hook. Few slices of Bread as bait. Those fish will drive you completely nuts - Had a session in Plymouth one evening, many years ago. You can see these big mullet lazily swimming around, chowing down on the loose fed slivers of bread we're throwing out to get them interested.
Got myself set up, sitting nicely behind a capstan, so in a bit of cover (them buggers wont see me coming, no sirree). Cast in, got my bread floating right in the middle of all the free offerings - mullet the size of a small vlcc carrier noses over - I'm actually holding my breath at this stage. Bread disappears, strike - rod bends......then straightens.
After this has happened about 20 times or so, I'm doing a wall of death around the capstan, much to the amusement of the guys I'm fishing with, swearing like a navvy, threatening to harpoon my rod and reel into the water.
Things settle down, we continue - amount of anglers 5, amount of mullet (great big school of around 30 - 40 fish) - number of fish landed - 3....yes, 3.....the most infuriating, annoying, hook spitting bunch of gets you'll never find again. Almost gave up mullet fishing after that night.
Things like that happen tho, fishing (imo) is the greatest stress relief (surprisingly considering the above)

Went fishing Tuesday. 9 hours of nothing except for a barracuda as we were pulling into port. Wish I was in Alaska right now...
-
Thursday afternoon, sunshine, light breezes, temps hovering near 80. Tied into and landed a nice 8lb4oz Channel Catfish. Not my biggest by far, but the first nice fish of the season.
Spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in my chair with a big grin on my face.
Its just the Red River, but the nice thing is most days I can find what I'm looking for.
That is a fish big enough to put a nice bend in my rod.
All depends on what your looking for!
-
I'm suppose to go to a Fish Fry Monday. The guy caught over a 100 fish last week, probably bluegill or Crappy.
-
Nirvana,
My brother in-law is on the Cormorant in Ft Pierce, FL. Says they usually drift for about 4-6 hours on the way back to port and fish. You guys do the same? Just funny to hear about them fishing off of the deck of a cutter. They usually get some good tuna when they are out.

Read every word Tec, great story. Was nice to see you fishing with some of the "old Timers" lures. You brought a smile to my face when i saw you used a Hula Popper and a Johnson Silver minnow ( we would use a porkrind trailers on our JSMs ) You instantly brought me back to the days that me and my father would spend out on Lake Nockamixon here in PA. We were real big on the Hula's and JSMs, also the Jitterbugs ( :D blast from the past?) We had the same results as you, but i refused to use trailer hooks and the like, i just figured i need to pay attention a little more ( which didnt work either lol )
Ive been on the short end of those strikes more than once, but look at the bright side, the sunset you saw over the lake makes it worth going out every time, fish or no fish.
Now im the dad, and heading out this weekend with my son, Ill try to post some pics if the fish gods allow it, fingers crossed.

Jitterbugs...
In my youth, my first "official" job was as a shoe-shine boy at a local Country Club. One of those real "ritzy" clubs, like the one in the movie Caddy Shack.
One of our "perks" was that we could golf for free on Mondays, since the club was closed on those days. We could golf, but not fish...
Two of the water holes looked too good to pass up though, so I'd toss a collapsible rod in my golf bag, and a couple of lures. The hot one there was always a Jitterbug! Frog-colored or yellow worked well in daylight, and when we'd sneak in at night we used black ones. The water holes were linked to the "outside world" via creeks, so they actually had nice fish in them.
My best there was a 9lb largemouth, but we caught loads that weren't much smaller than that. Those were big bass for us in those days, and in that area (NW suburbs of Chicago). And best of all, it was "private", lol!
Another spot we found that we always did well at was at the Botanical Gardens, where we sometimes went on school field trips (art classes). No fishing allowed of course, but great fishing all the same. Coke bottles wrapped with fishing line, which we'd cast under-handed. The bottle works like a rod/reel combo. Where there's a will, there's a way!
-
Damn I didn't think to snap a picture but I caught a sailboat yesterday. Couldn't get him into the boat, so I ended up cutting my line. :D
Just started getting back into fishing, since doing it basically every day of the summer as a kid. Trying to take advantage of the salmon/trout fishing we have in Lake Ontario but has a bit of a learning curve. I haven't got down-riggers yet so I've only been working the shallows for Brown Trout, no luck yet. :(
Last night was trolling the mouth of Oak Orchard river using in-line planer boards when some jack-ass in a sail boat cuts right across my port line. Freaking rips out about a 100ft of line and cuts it. Had to pull my other rig and go searching for my planer board. Found everything including my stickbait, so wasn't a big deal, but it's frustrating enough just being a beginner.
All that being said it sure beat the heck out of being at work, hopefully before summer ends I'll have a picture worth showing. :pray

Jitterbug has always been one of my favorite lures. It's just so damn exciting when they hit it from underneath like they do.
I also like a plastic worm, rigged weedless, but with no weight, just the hook. It falls slowly, but the bass just love it.
I lost all my fishing stuff in a fire a couple of years ago, falcon rod and everything. Been thinking pretty hard about getting new gear this summer.

Craigslist, rummage sales, and fishing BBS's can be your friend. If you do a bit of searching you can at least get some gear to get you started back up.
Getback - Yes, try and describe it.
TheBug - If you aren't already you can try running leadcore to get your baits down deeper, and I would also look into a book called "Precision Trolling" It is full of charts that you can use to determine how far back you need to be running your baits for the diameter of line you are using to achieve desired depths. The guys who do a lot of trolling swear by it.
Hooks are sharpened, drags and line have been checked and re-checked, I'm going back out after her tonight....

you need to open a photobucket account (or any other image hosting site). Upload, grab the url. Make a post, click on the insert hyperlink button (looks like a world on the left hand side of your post. Put the url for your pic between the bits that read [ url ][ /url ] (without the extra spaces) and jobs a good un.

Fished out of Deep Creek on Saturday and got Two Halibut in the 30lb range and some Pacific Cod around 8-10lbs. Went down to Homer on Sunday and went out 13 miles for some more Hallibut action. Started off slow but then they just started hitting the herring. Got 1 50lb and 7 more in the 20-40lb range. Limited the boat for the first time this year. Trolled for King Salmon but had no luck. I am at work now and will post the pics when I get home.

Cooler where's Deep Creek? All you describe brings back great fishing memories where i used to Fish the waters off Port Townsend and Westport, the Puget Sound was my favorite place to go, Hood Canel was a great area for catching Shrimp, Crab, Salmon, Steamer Clams all in the same day, then toss it all on the BBQ, pop open some beers, Good Times :aok

Deep Creek is about 40 minutes north of Homer on the Kenai Peninsula, right next to Ninilchik and Clam Gulch. It is soo awesome to catch all the fresh seafood you want and then have it in your belly by nightfall (which isn't until 12am now). The beers are a must after a long day on the water!!
Did you live up here in Alaska??
-
Kamori Damn nice trout!
Here in the foot hills of NC..... its whate bass season. aint had alotta chances as they go up the river to spawn and the river mouth/lake has been too low for me to get up there.
Had more luck with trees lately. so i stopped fishing...now i go treeing...... seems to work better! if i go treeing i catch fish! If i go fishing i catch trees!

Up here in NY weedless is your best friend. Especially when they drain the lake, it is very bad and sometimes even weedless get caught.
Took the boat out a few times so far and got a few pike and a couple nice sized walleye...but most days its' just been too damn hot out (90s in NY in May is unheard of).
We have good luck with floating jigs...we bought a lot because they absolutely kill Walleye in Canada (specifically Sainte-Anne-du-Lac, Québec, flown into a camp about 20 mins via float plane).
This is actually a picture of a friend of mine, Brett, many years ago one of the first trips to Canada with a group of ~12 people.

Went trout fishing last night for my second first time and I think I'm hooked. Have any of you ever tried any of the waterproof disposable cameras? Would like something to take with to the stream, but I cant justify anything that costs more than $5 dollars to replace considering the fact it only took me about 30 seconds before I took a header and got wet up to my neck.

I used to keep one in my tacklebox to document any large bass I caught. It always worked perfectly, and I know it got wet on a few occasions. Never actually completely submerged it though.

Anybody else ever go fishing for Bowfin? We have quite a few in front of our dock on Lake Champlain, including this one my buddy caught over the holiday:

If you fish a stream..... you don't want to wade upstream and you don't to step on rocks that are flat an angled. I found out the hard way my first time out. Those flip cameras work pretty good, just stick it in a dry bag or a ziplock baggy and you should be in business.
I don't do any lake fishing so I couldn't tell you anything about that.

Can you describe it? I bet the fishing minds here can figure it out.
It was green and curved like an arch, one piece, with the line attachment coming from about 3/8 of an inch up from the nose. It had two sets of hooks, one in the middle and one towards the rear. The nose below the eye was flatten. When it went through the water it wiggled. My best guess is it was about 2 - 3 inches long.

I have used a waterproof disposable before and it worked. Took pictures snorkeling, the camera was good to so many feet under water. Don't remember how many feet it was anymore.

Love Lazy Ikes, if anyone wants a bait for Crappie, try the Bubble Belly shad or a Crappie Thunder (both with roadrunner heads)

Lazy ike or a Flatfish
That is it! Thank you, thank you, thank you! :rofl I recognized the name right off that bat and confirmed it with a google search.
Ah, the balance in my life has been restored.
So which website do you recommend purchasing it from? I weary of websites I don't normally visit.
-
Any major sporting good store should carry the Flatfish or lazy Ike's, i get mine from a wholesale catalog thru my work, for Crappie i use Jigheads with 1 1/2 rubber tubes, color depends on the time of season but they go crazy for them, i can catch easily 15 to 40 an hour depending on the conditions but I'm selective on size, i like the meatier ones and throw everything else back even thou theres no size limit, i do it because its just good common sense and i only keep what I'm going to use

Caught a couple of those when I lived down by Galveston as a kid, not one that big, but even the little-ish ones we caught were serious fighters, and the teeth are menacing. We always threw them back, it was only after I moved up here that I discovered that Wahoo are called Ono in Hawaii, the word ono meaning delicious.

It's official, I'm completely hooked on driftless spring creek trout. The funny thing is it's totally opposite of what I expected. I assumed that trout were difficult to catch, and wading would be easy. It turns out that wading is super sketchy, and the fish are not as weary as I had expected.
First some scenery.

Now for the goods.
My PB so far a 17" Brown.

The weather here has been kinda sketchy the last couple days, and more rain forecast throughout the week. Wasn't planning on getting much fishing in so I got myself a copy of A River Runs Through It. Watched it early this AM and by the time I was done last nights thunderstorms had passed and the sun was out. Thought the creeks might be muddied up a bit but said what the heck. Caught a few fish, nothing special, and was about to pack it in when I was lucky enough to hook up with this little fella.

Unfortunately the pics didn't come out so hot, but that is a Tiger Trout. A sterile cross between a male Brook Trout(which is actually a char) and a female Brown Trout(which is actually a trout). While they are raised in hatcheries for stocking in some states they haven't been stocked in WI since the 70's. Supposedly a naturally occurring fish like this is quite rare, some of the local guys refer to them as "The fish of 100,000 casts". I guess a little beginners luck never hurts.

Tight lines.

Apologies for that huge wall of text that no one will probably read, just needed to get it off my chest lol.

not bad for 45 mins worth of fishing. Gonna take that long just to clean um.
-
Took me longer to clean um then it did to catch them!~
It was one after the other from 8pm till 8:45.
i have the electric filet knife but i only use it for taking the filets off. i use a normail filet knife for skinning and boning.
18 fish turns into 36 really fast!

This is a 55.5 lb Striped Bass caught recently by my friend's son off Montauk Point, Long island, New York. 50 lb stripers are relatively rare catches while 20-40 lb class fish are the norm.

WOW! :O
I've caught some in the 15-20 lb range, but that thing is a monster!
Not quite the maneater that striper is, but this is what my 7 year old son drug in last night! His sharp eye noticed the line go tight (fishing with a live bream on a bottom rig) while no one else was paying attention, grabbed the rod and reeled it in all by himself, hollerin' the whole time! I was inside the camper getting some meat ready to go on the grill when I heard the commotion, by the time I got out there he and Granddaddy had it up on the bank! Gonna be nice in the fryer tonight!

Wow, nice Channel Cat! We usually only catch them by accident but even so, they are almost always at least 15 inches :lol
Good catch.

Brook, Lake, Rainbow or what? Any of 'em?
Any of them, but mostly brook, brown and rainbow.

Brown put up a nice fight. :aok

Who here fly-fishes for Crappie? The tastiest flakiest fish from Freshwater..... :x
I fly fish for all sorts of stuff. Crappie, bluegill, green sunfish, rock bass, perch, walleye, white bass, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, all sorts of trout, salmon, whitefish, chubs. I've tried for muskie and gar, no luck yet. No catfish either, but I bet I could catch channel cats.
There are probably some others, too, but these types are what comes to mind right now. You can catch practically anything on a fly rod, it's just a matter of tailoring your rigging and flies for the situation.
Fly fishing for crappie can be so effective at times it almost doesn't seem sporting. In the spring, when the guys with minnows and bobbers are really "slayin' 'em" I can out-fish 'em with a fly rod. The same goes for bluegills.
-
Brown put up a nice fight. :aok
Yes they do.
-
I caught my muskie (posted already in this thread a while back) on a Quantum Crappie pole with 8 lb crappie line :lol
You can catch any fish on most any tackle, you just have to know how to use the equipment and know it's limits. (Drag, baby, drag)

:lol Don't worry about it.

Like Mtnman I fly fish for most of the fish I catch.
I'm lucky enough to have several cold water streams and rivers nearby and some warm water rivers even closer.
Been tyeing flies for 20 years or so and lately my eyes are so bad I've pretty much stopped, but I have several thousand flies to use.
I have 7 or 8 flyrods of different weights and lengths also a couple or 3 float rods.My favs are my 5wt sage and my 13ft handmade floatrod,if I use anymore than 6lb line on the floatrod I risk breaking it!
:salute
-
actually gonna go wading/fishing here inbout 30inutes for bass hope to catch

How about watching somebody else fish?

well me and my retarded self went out an turned out the river was up (geney at the dam on) so i got in my boat (which was tied down on shore) and just fished from there luckily the bass were jumping not even 15ft away.....long story short caught 2 bass (big enough to eat nothing major) then the fish stole all my spinner baits
-
...then the fish stole all my spinner baits
I don't think you can call it stealing if you tossed them out there for them to grab...
-
Got a 17" and a 21" brown today. Also mtnman if you could keep your Golly-geen birds locked up that would be swell. Got a 14" that would have went to the frying pan if it wasn't for the huge beak holes he had in him.

Can't you just eat around the holes? I'm sure they're not that "filling" anyway...
I wonder what put holes in it? Maybe a heron? Had it been an eagle or osprey, I seriously doubt it would have gotten away if it was grabbed well enough to put holes in it.
-
I just made a few of these.... okay somewhere around 50 of them. (I gave a couple dozen away as gifts.)

I found a jointed Jitterbug! Anyone else have one?
-

Heron or Crane, it was obvious the damage came from a wading bird with a long beak. Wish I could have got a pic, it was kinda nasty lookin but the fish seemed otherwise healthy.
-

Yes sir, 1 black with a skeleton pattern and 1 in a frog pattern :aok

you can still get jitterbugs at dunhams sporting goods.
Wha- sporting goods? I get mine at walmart! :x :x  :salute :x :salute

Well. After weathering an entire Winter and Spring, plus part of a Summer. I will finally be able to get back out on the water. My doc finally cleared me to fish with my partially broken wrist. :x

Happened to me a couple of years ago, shattered my lower leg (tibia and fibia) in 3 places, surgery, rods, plates, screws etc to put ol' humpty daddy back together again.
Missed the whole summer fishing season, was great to get the rod and reel back in my hand once i was cleared!!

Herons mostly! When i was a fishery assistance with the state doing bass, trout, catfish population count. We would see a lot of fish with holes and/or scars from the herons trying to get them.

Going fluke fishing on the Helen h in a couple of weeks. Dad and I been doing this for years now. I almost lost him to 3 heart attacks and a quadruple bypass this January. The only thing he talked about was going fishing with me when he gets better. The doctor gave him the all clear to go.
-
4 weeks until beach time. Still trying to convince my 9 yr old to go trolling instead of bottom fishing. Probably won't work. The bad part is my 7 yr old daughter wants to go this year. She doesn't have the endurance for an all day trip. I may have to sacrifice and make a second trip on a half day for her. Sacrifices, sacrifices. :devil

From everything im reading in the fishing reports they are hammering Fluke off Barnegate on Long Beach Island NJ. Also had a friend come back from a trip last weekend, he and his son caught about 40 between them, with the largest being a door mat at 26"
Good luck

Well!!! Just got back from my first fishing trip in 8 God Forsaken months. Caught my first Smallmouth Buffalo and my first Flathead Ugly-Cat :D
For a day we were just expecting to catch crappie and a few nice bluegill it was a pleasant surprise. Pound for pound those flatheads put up more of a fight than Walleye or Smallmouths... dang! :x
Good to be back fishing, back in my element.
-
sorry old thread now i guess.. but i was in Florida with a couple buddies and one of them caught this off the beach.

Old thread? No worries, a good thread is like a old fisherman, it never dies - it just smells.
Here's a pic of two great friends of mine enjoying themselves aboard their boat during the Annual Billfish Competition of Antigua in 2008. The only prize they won that year was 'Most Fun Boat' (the name on the stern perfectly describes the sole contents of the cockpit's large under-seat lockers) but Big Mick won the Saint Marteen's Annual this year with a 600lbs+ marlin and his wife Ruth (the yummy blonde seen here temporarily resting from mixing very large drinks) won the Ladies' Championship of Antigua title with a 500-pounder.

Meanwhile, this ol' cat dips a line in the local fishing pond in his usual indolent manner and dreams on:

Gone fishin', there's a sign outside ma door . . .

Simba, that sir is a great photo!!! (the one with the boots)
I was talking to my wife the other day, and told her i wanted to buy a boat. I got the classic "were not buying a boat until i get my new <insert anything here>.
Actually shes been wanting a new couch for the living room and said that i can get my boat when she gets her new sofa.
Were going furniture shopping this weekend :D
Was i played like a fiddle?.....yes
Do i care......................... .nope, what ever gets me closer to my boat
-
Okay, a tad off topic, but not much.
POLL: Which tastes better? Crappie, Walleye or Bass?
-
None of the above: this ol' cat prefers a Tuna bake with salad on the side, freshly-baked bread - and a cool beer.
Mmmmmmmmm, nice . . .
Good luck with your boat-acquisition ambition, Bailey. Just don't spend all your money on She Who Must Be Obeyed, or you'll never realise it.
;)

It is a poll for people who catch, clean, and eat freshwater fish.
Besides, Bumblebee doesn't can and sell Crappie, Walleye or Bass. :lol
-
Okay, a tad off topic, but not much.
POLL: Which tastes better? Crappie, Walleye or Bass?
Personally, bass is way low on my list. I don't keep them for eating at all anymore.
Walleye and crappie are both good.
-
I would have to say out of those 3 I would have to choose Walleye.
Although crappie filets breaded and fried with an ice cold Sam Adams is really hard to beat.
Dam im hungry now
I dont ever keep any Bass i catch. I guess watching Jimmy Houston all those years kiss'em and putt'em back
made a soft spot in my heart for them :D
Thanks Simba, Ive already got my eye on one, that falls within the sofa/boat budget. Its an 18ft Lund with a full fishing platform on the front,2 live wells, all the great electronics. fish finder etc,Minkota trolling motor and a 40hp Merc. ( the lake near me is a 40hp limit, but the size of the boat allows me to add something larger in the future if i want........err if my wife lets me that is
-
Crappie are good but Walter is the best. IMO Perch is right up there with Walleye though.
