Discuss.
I'll go with 1-0 England win within 90 minutes.
-
Capello has revealed his new strategy for the second half:

-
Go england!
-
Germany ain't great but England are a lot worse man for man, looking at it how it is atm 2-0 its gonna be a rout :(
-
dear oh dear will need a miracle now.
Even with that pitch grisbeau I doubt they would manage it!
-
theres one back :x
ill take 3-4 right now
that ball was IN the goal godam it!
-
Hmmm you just got hugely robbed :headscratch: ball was like a metre over the line
-
ouch, that was way in.
-
OOOOO that was England's goal they just got robbed like a mother! I don't understand how they didn't count that????
-
goal line technology FTW :noid
followed by the referees a banana hehe
-
The one place I think they should allow reviews. Only give the goal when there is no doubt it crossed fully, like it was there.
-
Going for Germany of course here. But England was robbed, that was some fine playing tying it up withen a few minutes.
-
It looks like 'ze germans' are winning this battle after the defeat of the BoB! :D
-
It looks like 'ze germans' are winning this battle after the defeat of the BoB! :D
it's a game of 2 Halves Sonny!
England to be incensed by the injustice and to come out with a Capello rocket up their backsides!
More goals to follow :D
-
In the Italian Serie A, they made some tests with 2 extra "referees" behind the goal...they dropped it, don't know why. I guess they prefer the "big" discussions after the match. I just hope England wins anyway. :)

2nd half is actually quite entertaining game so far :aok
-
If England doesn't score very soon, I think it's over for them.
:cry
-
Yup, it's over. Deutschland just scored their 4th goal.
-

:cry
Spoke to soon its just turned into a rout
-
Deutschland!!! :rock
-
great counter attacking football from Germany sit back wait for the inevitable sloppy pass and strike like a rattlesnake.
my stream is stuck on repeat of the 4th goal if I see it again i'm gonna puke :lol
-
So much for the "golden generation" - overpaid, overhyped and without a clue.
Not too surprised mind, been following England long enough to know the score (pardon the pun)
Wurzel
-
Deutschland!!! :rock
Remember to send a big present to the referee and his mates. Would have been another second half if the score was 2-2.
IENA
-
no denying the 3rd and 4th goals. Caught with their trousers down twice.
-
Germany won, they played a better first half and maybe they were better all in all,but again if the score was 2-2 well i think it would have been another second half. It's so sad that this match will be remembered for that HUGE mistake made by the referee and the line referee.
Let's hope (AGAIN), that they will get better :pray
IENA
-
yea we wouldn't have had to chase the game as much if it were 2-2. I think the 3rd and 4th were pure counter attack from losing possession to far up the field.
Hopefully we can clear out all of the old players now and give the younger generation a chance.
good luck Germany for the rest of the finals
-
Haha, just wait untill the Dutch start playing again :D
-
Germany played twice as good as us. Well done, look like a teamthat could win

David Calamity James...........
Geez, he makes Tim Howard of USA look good. He should of stopped that 3rd goal.

They were better the first half, but the second (thanks the referees), was "downhill" for them..just waiting for a counter attacks. 4-1 doesn't mean that much. Just remember the second goal in the semifinal Germany-Italy in 2006. As i said, it's just sad that such an "important" match will be remembered for that mistake.

You cant blame James for that, he had the whole goal to shoot at, or are you being ironic!!! He was about our best player!
Very poor defending for all goals, Lampards goal perhaps could have made a difference as we wouldn't have been chasing the game. Giving the ball away, not tracking back or going with players on a one-two is basic stuff.
Well done Germany, but I fear your going to get a spanking too as your keeper was very suspect and your centre backs are slow too. Messi will cream them.
It will save further embarassment for us
-
I'm a little terrified by the prospect of facing Germany so early not least because of the youthfull aspect of their team....
When looking at Germany I'm reminded of that classic Hansen quote regarding the double winning Man Ure team; "You'll never win anything with kids".
Can't believe I dragged my bellybutton out of bed at 6:30am for that CRAP! England's entire team - players, coaches, staff - should be as embarrassed and ashamed of themselves as I am of them.
-
England > Italian coach > nuff said.
What goes around comes around. The Geoff Hurst goal, that was not a goal, in the 1966 final against West Germany that put England ahead 3:2.
The technology wasn't available then. There's no excuse for Blatta and Fifa not utilising it. Mind, I'm not sure it would have made a massive difference today!
-
:D yes, let's see when you will play against Brasil :D
IENA
I used the BBC predictor, it keeps telling me we have to play against them in the quarter finals. It looks promising to say at least! :neener:

Geez, the Americans had a better World Cup than England, France and Italy??? The hell I say..... ;)

I propose all future England football games be shown on the GAY ADULT CHANNEL
the sight of 11 A-holes getting repeatedly hammered for 90 Mins Should not be shown on terrestrial TV
but hey, on the bright side at least it didn't go to penalties. more time for a BBQ

I wonder who will be in the hot seat next? Roy Hodgson or 'Arry? Place your bets!

LOL!!! what a great sport day ! first Vettel beat Hamilton (i.e teh cheater) and wins the F1 GP in Valencia,
and now Germany beat England :D :D :D
next beer!
and for the not given goal, il give it free to you, it doesent matter 4:2 or 4:1 :rofl

wow, did not think Germany will win by that much.

Come on now :) . If we start down that path we will never finish. That's the way it is. For coaches and players and not only in football.

Well, as i said, now it doesn't matter. Will never know how it would have ended if the score at the end of first half was 2/2. :)

What are you going to say when Argentina stuff you Ghost? England were bad but still exposed your back four and poor keeper. Enjoy it while you can and have a beer on me :aok
-
poor keeper? i dont think so, Neuner is really on top, compared to others i seen at the WC.
And about Argentina, they fight in a half hour against mexico first, if they win we are ready ;),
Argentina is for me the strongest team, it will be difficult, but not impossible to beat them.
Until then

I've been watching the game all 90 min ,i didn't care who wins: was a beautiful game, lots of action but FIFA needs to fix this crap at goal line, add another referee or use the technology. If the first 45 min would have end with 2-2, England would not throw all player in attack and let the defense line open and vulnerable to counterattack: i don't think they would have won, but the 2nd part of the game could be different and more fair.
-
Cmon guys, had England won, we'd be gloating as well - will Germany get beat by Argentina - possibly, but they have a good chance to go further.

Exactly Ghi. The Germans players did what they had to do. But, still is sad for England and football in all, that we have to discuss a situation like that.

beside that i think we need a video control for the goalline
five players of the german team are U21 European Champions (Özil Müller Boateng and Kehdira), beating the U21 English team just a year ago with 4:0... but seems like noone registered that
there are a lot of things to discuss, but germany played as a team!

Ok Ghost, lets have a friendly wager, if you beat Argentina I'll transfer via PayPal the cost of a stein of lager and you do the same for me if you beat them.
Enjoy your night, you lot deserved it!

Nobody said that Germany didn't play better than England or that they didn't deserve to win.
But i think you will agree with me...... if the first half ended 2-2 we would have seen a different second half, and looking at the past, it's full of matches were the BEST team didn't win, so  for germany but :( for England and football.
p.s. referee did it again..first goal of Argentina ...BIG offside.... :(

Never know if the goal had stood what would have happened.
Maybe the Gods of football have a sense of humour.
Date 1966, score England 2 - 2 Germany, the controversial 'goal' that was given.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySUM0ZERdA4&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySUM0ZERdA4&feature=related)
Never know what would have happened if it had been ruled out.
Karma?

Uhm...Gods of football, Karma.....i would say only ...bad referee, with another little thing, in 1966 they had not the technology we have now or the volume of money involved in football. So, i don't think it's the same. But i guess in some ppl eyes 2 wrongs make 1 right :)

Hi Baggy, since i am a gambler anyway ;) i say yes!
Watching ARG - MEX now i see the possibility for Germany, most time Mexico played with zero creativity.
ARG sure have killer players, but the defense is weak, this could be a very entertaining game.
Lets open next week before the game a new thread to discuss about the lager :D

Ok mate, I look forward to this. Your right, Argentina are a bit suspect in defense so it should hopefully be a high scoring game.
I hope your pretty drunk now... we are drowning our sorrows! :lol

If Hamilton didn't have the penalty he would have out driven Vettel AGAIN. IMO Hamilton is the best driver in F1.
