I would like to see a "Hall Of Fame" type stat,maybe on a yearly basis to reconize the top 5 overall Aces in each cat. ... It could be real simple without all the stats..Have a all decade list or something, also include squads with the top ranked pilots each tour....

So, you want another name in lights thing to add to all the other name in lights stuff? Personally I'll give it a thumbs up when you can put it on your resume and get a good paying job with it.

Rather than a score ho HOF, a HOF for players that have contributed to the advancement of the game and/or community might be an idea. :aok :old:

I'm no expert, yet I can only see player and game quality dipping as score-potatoes descend into downtown turmoil to get on that list.

No thanks. There's enough ego stroking and sweet ankle loving in this game as is.
Personally I'll give it a thumbs up when you can put it on your resume and get a good paying job with it.
I like this idea. Perhaps I'll toss my :joystick: ability on my MBA applications. :aok

With some development, this is actually a good idea. Kind of like an Academy Awards for Aces High. And the Oscar goes to...(get it? Oscar? :lol)

Score in this game can be manipulated rather easily and is not a true representation of skill. And as others have said gameplay would most likely deteriorate as people attempt to make the list.
In my opinion the whole top scorers of the month should be done away with, but that's just me.

I guess the peanut gallery has spoken!!! Its sad that people have to use monikers for everyone on this game, bomb****S,SCOREPUKES etc....My only guess is that you all are the ones that had the football but never got picked to a team and when we let you play you never got the ball, so you took your ball and went home :cry :bolt: I play to win, no matter the game....

yea, it will be a same group of people every year. Beside doing that and ranking is subjective and can be rank high if game the game.

Continue playing to win if you like, but understand playing for score and "winning" are not at all the same thing in this game. You can have a great score and still get it handed to you by any decent stick 1v1. You can also have a great score and be in no way helpful to your country. (If your into that base capture stuff)
When you realize the difference, you will understand the sentiments of the "peanut gallery" in this thread.

I must agree with the "peanut gallery". The score manipulators already get their names on the HTC homepage each month - that's more than enough.

That's fine,my squad would rank at the top of each list...What 18 or 19 straight tours "post witch hunt"...To which we were the only ones accussed and convicted as scapegoats for everyone else that had a shade..And actually it was good training for squadies...Kinda funny watching a squadie blow his wad on lancs and not get a kill :joystick:...But in our defence we didnt know better we had just started playing AH in 03 of 08, and thought this was a common practice..But strangly enough the kills per tour went way down across the board for all the so called aces.......... You had your scapegoat,get over it!!!! :cry

Seems to me the bordom fumes are getting thick in the hangers again. When I was 5 I used to hang out in the repair hanger at the London Gliding Club, Dunstible Downs, while a Tiger Moth was towing my father aloft in a glider. Ahhhhh the dope fumes were entoxicating.
The only antidote for this condition is.......HiTech for COADs sake man release the next game update. When they get done with the mascots it'll be cannabalism sure as Shane used to club baby seals.............. :pray

So, reading your logic above ... how many times did you take your ball and gone home and cried ?

Ok maybe not a hall of fame but more on the basis of contributions to the game.
Example
This month the Aces high staff reconizes USRanger for his contributions to the game. His dedication to making offline missions, terrains and skins for the game has given a secondary enviroment to his fellow fliers.is second to none. In accordance with this he is recognized as Player of the quarter.

Similar there I think it should be a.50/50 vote, have 4-5 players and let the community vote, and let the AH staff vote on the top 2 to select the overall winner.
Also once you have been picked you can't be on the list.again for that year. At the end of the year have a vote between the top 20 with prizes given out to the top 3.
I think a suitable prize for the ultimate winner could be;
1. Free year of AH subcription.
2. A map named after him.
So does this sound feasable??

isnt simply playing the game and getting into good fights or good bomb runs or killing vehicles or gv enough?? Why bother spending time to do this when we can have actual stuff to play with, instead of something for those insecure about themselves in real life getting validation through online gaming.

Something like that ebfd11.. It could have special honors to the people that have passed, or are no longer able to play AH!!! Just something to be able to go back and see a yearly list of the top contributors ,players and squads...The reason I would use the top 5 is to make it more inclusive, as oppossed to the top 2...I know that alot of people dont like the whole scoring thing and that it is subjective, but some of us try and some dont...If you dont care about your score "so what"!!! If you play for score "so what"!!! For me playing for score is a challenge, thats why I play!!! Too each his own!!! Look, in 20 years when im teaching my grandkids how to play AH 5, I would like to be able to scroll through a yearly list without all the stats, just the names of the top 5 fighter,bmbr,attack,gvr,contributors and most of all the fallen!!! Your just wanting that so everbody can see how your squad try to be #1 every tour. Which IMO has no meaning.

Can't believe I missed this.
Squad rankings are the gamiest rank in the game. You see, when you get 5 guys in a squadron that are all score potatoes and each game the game, they will always be number 1. The number of players in the squadron is irrelevant. To commend their ability to capture undefended bases and shade vulch would be silly. -1!

I do like the awards for those that have given back to the community. Fencer51 has really made the CM team shine since he joined, he should be congratulated.

Agreed on Fencer. I'm not sure how many folks know how much time he's put into the scenario world.
And he's a 51D fanatic so he's got lots of room with that bubble canopy :)

Ego's that other players can't back up no doubt, our competitive scene is almost non existant.
It's a good job you don't play other computer games because you'll be in for a shock as far as ego's go.
