I have a few simple wishes that are logistical in nature. (no wishes for 3000hp ponies with cannons!).
*I wish damage status display was a toggle that stayed on, not unlike the icon setting. It is a handy thing to have on but I often forget to set it until I have already been hit.
*Another thing that would be nice is a refueling pad at v-bases and ports. I think it would make it more of a challenge to take them if a plane could land, even without a runway, and re-fuel/re-arm.
*I think there should be a manned gun available in town
*Oh, and a 3000hp ponies with cannons! J/K!!!

* I have no idea what you are asking. I toggle my damage list on and off when I need it.
* No to the refueling at V-bases, try the search and you'll find many reasons why.
* Yes, I've always liked that idea.
* Heck yes!!!
Can you clarify that first point for me?

Thanks for your reply. What I meant by the first comment was that I wish you didn't have to toggle the damage status display every time I up a new plane. It should remain set on or off until you change it, not unlike your icon mode or graphic display/framerate dialog. Since the update it is only one line "all systems normal" so it would not be intrusive unless you have damage, and that is when you want to see this info anyway.

That's simple enough. I see no good reason why it shouldn't be that way.

The only reason I can think of why you wouldn't want damage status on all the time if you got your check box:

It would cover the screen.
That's why they changed it to show damaged components only.
I just assigned a position on a hat switch to toggle it on or off as needed.

which is why it should just stay on.. "all systems normal" is not very obtrusive at all...

...Until when it becomes intrusive?
CTRL + D
map it to a button.

really, what difference does it make.. You can have it mapped, I can hit ctrl-d.. why shouldn't it just remember if it's on or off between sorties?
we have auto-record of films.. same thing.. just as easy to map a key or hit the keystroke.. its handy to have it automagically on all the time, some of us might think.

I suppose the only time it would actually become intrusive you would probably be on fire hurtling towards the ground.
Otherwise, all of a sudden, half your screen is covered in damage messages. May make it difficult to see.
I don't recall how auto-filming gets in the way of your view until you stop the film, auto or not.
My point is, you can turn it on now and if you forget, unlike filming, you're not going to miss anything. You can't turn it on "too late".
If they want to take the time to program another addition to the flight options list then more power to them. :aok

wrngway it sounds like he is asking to have it stay on when he starts a new sortie if it was on when he towered/died or off if that is the way it was when his last sortie ended.
I think it is an ok wish but I do think it a bit unnecessary since it is easy enough to turn on (I have mine set to a button on my stick).

If it becomes intrusive I think you'd be dead.

yea its not a big thing either way as far as I am concerned.. I can't imagine it would be that big of a project for hitech though.
i think wrngway just lookin for stuff to disagree with! :D
