To be quite honest I was a little bit disappointed. I went to see warbirds fly, and they were pretty short on that this year. Can't complain too much though, any day you can roam freely in a field and get up close and personal with a dozen Mustangs is a good day. Some of the highlights of the day included seeing two people on electric scooters get stuck together in front of Glacier Girl, a very cool two person seaplane and their TH2G simulator, and a one man helicopter that is powered by magic. The Osprey and the Global Hawk were there, the Osprey was much smaller than I expected, and the Hawk much larger. There was a DR1 in the standard Red Baron paint, not sure if it was legit or repro. Next to the DR1 was a DVII which I believe was original. Mustaine kept carrying on about Shawn Tucker, and I found out why. The guy melted my brain, if the word 1337 ever makes the dictionary his picture should be next to it. There was a beautifully restored FG1-D on static display in the warbirds area which I was able to get some good reference pics of for a skinning project I've been sitting on for a while.

Thanks for the pics. :aok
-
Yeah, thanks.
Heard it was like a swamp, though.
Kept getting emails from EAA about landing conditions, and how to plan for it. :noid

Nice
Tucker and his kid almost look like they have a clue on how to fly.
Very fun to watch.

I want a yak3 in the game or at least some more yak skins! specially that one! soooo beautiful!

I went up for the evening last Wednesday and spent some time wandering around with my squaddie Atticus. He was camped out on the North End where all the warbirds were taking off and landing (by the Super 8). I drove up from just south of Milwaukee (happened to be in town for work that week) and drank a few beers with him then.

There is a guy near me that has one. He keeps it at DYL. ( you can look that up :) )

There is a Yak-3 at PWA. (in OKC)
I was lucky enough to sit in it once and fiddle w/ the buttons.
Same guy owns the P-51D 'Miss America'.

I'll let you sit in my Bearhawk when I am finished building it.
You just can't touch any buttons :P :neener:
:D

Nice :aok

Oh man the P-51 is just so sexy xD
-
Nice! :aok

its impressive always to see just how big the F4U really is.
Jugs and Corsairs were huge aircraft compared to the 109s and 190s, spits, 51s and 38's.
-
There was a TBM sitting next to the F4U, the Hog looks wimpy by comparison.

My younger brother personally know who owns that A-26. We might bower it for a hour and take it up in the air.

In about another 3 years, perhaps :)
Maybe sooner if any fellow AH'ers wanna come help buck rivets, or donate some hanger space :D

What! No pics of the newly restored Seafire XV? Ahh what a beauty. RN version of the Spit XII. Absolutely gorgeous restoration.

Is sean tuckers kid still narating the show for dad? Is he still putting his dad's name at least once in every single sentence he utters during the flight demonstration? I saw the show a few years ago and liked the flying, but I was desperately looking for cotton or double strength ear plugs to get away from the promotion of sean tucker's name by the time the demo was half over. :huh
-
The Sean Tucker demo was incredible! I too have seen him multiple times, but he did S^*& only remote control planes can do. It was surreal watching him.
Tec, the heritage flight pics were awesome, post some of the F4 bro :aok
