That's compelling evidence. We need this addition to AH.
-
LOL
-

-
The Final Countdown is a classic what if sci-fi flick! A thumbs up to this request and it's supporting evidence! :aok ;)
-
There ya go, film and all! Contempory film plus it has a combat record and kills!
Can't argue, Add her!
-
I first became aware of this evidence in 1981, therefore, this addition is way overdue.
-
lol i hope everyone gets the joke
Bad form, you gotta leave the bait out there a little longer.
-
Two trophy class, Mitsubishi A6m's, in original condition.
They look brand new sir.
-
This is certainly a huge hole in the EW US planeset that needs to be filled!
+1
-
what you think the perk value would be?
-
early war arena maybe 5, no perk value in LW where it will get minimal use.

but the LW Essex class had catapults , i don't think EW Essex classes did
-
+1! :aok
-
something tells me catapults back then would just slowly nudge an f-14 off the deck
-
the fleet air arm used the same steam catapults that would later launch f4 phantoms . they could have power adjusted as necessary for aircraft weights.
-
Good movie.
-
i have it and it is a good movie but it cant be just the f-14 you might aswell put in the other aircraft that were going to strike the japs when pearl got attacked
A-7
A-6
F-8
F-14
might as well throw in the sea king lol

Obviously the Nimitz Class was also in service back then, so I see it being added along with the F-14.
-
you know i guess i completely missed that *duh*
-
Hmmmmmmmmm.....finally my plane will arrive. :D :aok( see call sign )
-

I have the movie on DVD. The director said they had to fly the Tomcats at near stall speed to fly along side the Zero's. Also, those are not Zero's. They painted some other type of plane to look like Zero's. They also enhanced Kirk Douglas' chin to give him that square jawed look.

so your saying thats not war footage but US propaganda film? I'm confused.
-
Pretty cool movie also starring Martin Sheen and Charles Durning.
-

That may be possible, recovering them?... That's a different story.
-
How is it that this was never talked about in the first place. Did they have them in the ETO?
-
it was top secret "cosmic" level
-
:lol
-
Clearly this aircraft saw combat, and was in squadron strength.
HTC crew needs to get to work right away!
