Very nice update to the HTC website. Kudos. :cheers:
-
Yes, very nice! :cheers:
-
what changed? looks today like it did last week, last month, last year.....
-
I must be missing something... it still looks the same to me even after I refresh to make sure it's not a cached version of the website.
-
Kind of sterile.

You might have to fully clear your cache, not just refresh the page.
-
It's OK, but the previous one was more effective, IMHO. In particular, the mini-video-thing at the upper left corner (?) of the old one was effective. This new page substitutes tiny static images.

Done that. STILL the same. :lol

I don't even have one ;)
Ahh... you guys apparently use the flyaceshigh.com address
-
x5 :(
-
hitechcreations.com = old
flyaceshigh = new look
-
Interesting. Well, I always hit the forums first. In this case, I just clicked the Home link on the forums page just to see if there were any updates there, and voila, there it was; new look.
Sorry to hear you guys are having that problem. :salute
FWIW,
-
hitechcreations.com = old
flyaceshigh = new look
flyaceshigh lead to http://www.hitechcreations.com/. Still the same. :lol
-
I'm still not seeing the new look. I even took out my contacts and put my glasses on, still no dice.
-
I clicked on the "home" tab and it takes me to the new look...
-
me to
nice work
-
The speed at which you might see the new page could be dependent on your ISP's DNS. Also note, rebooting Windows also clears its own cache of the DNS record lookup forcing a new lookup.
If you reboot and still get the old page, it is due to your ISP DNS not picking up the changes yet.
-
ahhh makes sense
-
Both are the same for me.... ACtually flyaceshigh.com doesn't have Tour129 scores yet it seems.
hitechcreations.com = old
flyaceshigh = new look
-
It doesn't look that much different.
-
I prefer the Old look

Over the New look.

To me the new look looks like something that my 14 year old did for his computer technology class project this year and he is in 8th grade. It also looks like something that I would do just to get by with as little as possible.
I prefer the old look myself...its not about change its just about looks.
-

You are 100% correct. Do to SEO it was important to port the old pages to a new system. Changing the front page look now is not that difficult, but is the 2nd step.
This first change really was not intended to change the look.
HiTech

I quite like the new one - IMO the top frame and images in the old page were too big.
edit: hitech ninja'd this bit. Perhaps having a 'Media' menu along the top frame with links to galleries of player videos and screenshots would be nice (and also linking 'Dogfight Images' to the screenshots page would be nice and convenient).
The High-Res Textures thing under Downloads is misspelled, and when you go the High-res page, it looks like an image at the bottom is missing.
-
Meh, It's ok. :rofl Remember everyone's a critic. :D
-
don't care as long as the forums are easy to get to. . .
-
I like it, looks nice. :aok

HiTech
Thanks HT! I do appreciate the commentary!
-
I like the update but I do suggest putting 2 small borders on each side of the news column.
-
Won't let me upload the new freaking page!!

Thats cause you havent sent in to HTC a case of bourbon.
So you have to wait.
;)
New page looks ok. So long as the rest of the site works is all I care about

You need to be smacked up side the head :neener:
-
Looks good! :aok
-
I like where this is going, can't wait to see the finished product since I agree with some people that it's just missing a few things atm (like the animated clip of in-game footage, and the "Are you good at flight sims! Start your free acount NOW!" image should read "Are you good at flight sims?... Start your FREE account NOW!" or something more gramaticaly fluent).
On a side note, can we have some fun with this transition non-polished website phase?
IE: Just a guess, but is the web designer related to HiTech or at least attend the same English classes in school? :devil

Very nice update to the HTC website. Kudos. :cheers:
I think it looks cheesy and amatuer-ish. Those fonts got to go. The orginal page was better then the new page.
-
I like the new page. It is less cluttered, less busy. Most of all, I am very, very glad you ditched that dreadful blinking/flashing banner. I always disliked that on the old page.
-
Sheesh, 3 pages and we haven't yet started on the over-analyzation of "HiTech Creations WW2 Games" and what that might imply? Folks here are slipping.

The best way of improving a sites ranking in a web search is to PAY!

PERK THE NEW PAGE!!!!
Looks good to me HT and Co. :aok

THIS IS NOT A GAME! How DARE HT call this a GAME! THIS IS A REAL LIFE SIMULATION!! I QUIT! :mad:

Well where is the butter, all I see is margerine :lol Now look, I've been a software engineer for over 15 years and let me say that I have seen far better web pages from guys straight out of university. I mean really, it doesn't even look like they spent more then and hour or two on it. Now I can't hardly blame them, as a guy who used to spend most of his time slinging C++ code around (I do mostly software architecture stuff now), webpages seemed like a bore that was beneath me. However, as I've gotten older I've learned the importance of having a website that was "eye popping" to draw that customer in. This new page hardly seems eye catching if not down right dull.
Just my two cents.
