What's the point in having an anti-personnel frag cluster bomb without having any personnel to bomb? ;)

Although not a well formatted wish request, the Fritz X is a legitimate request. +1 to the Fritz X.

... :lol didn't think that through did I? I did state that they were some sujestions for later versions, not the next patch(not in those exact words), and some critisism does make it alittle interesting :P

Is there any evidence they were ever used in combat?
Why not the Salamander?

They were used a lot.
In 2nd half 41, about 289,000 SD_2 were dropped each month.
The Fritz X sank many merchant & war ships, including the battleship Roma.

Should be effective on soft skinned vehicles like M3s and open top ones like the WeebleWobble and the Ostwind and fun to use for vulching.
ack-ack

butterfly bombs saw extensive use by the Germans in all areas of operations they fought in.

Salamander saw extremely little combat, if any at all.
Both the Fritz and the Butterfly were used on multiple occasion.
-
Well. True... but it still would be a strange addition.
-
Why not the Salamander?
It was a worthless pile of plywood (read: crap).
It was meant to be a quick, easy to produce jet fighter flown by people with little/no training like Hitlerjügend (thus the name Volksjäger), it was never meant to be a decent fighter (which it wasn't, at all).
Speaking of bomblets, these were extremely effective from what I recall, and used on a pretty decent scale.

This is why you do not use wikipedia as a source....
[...]The British Government deliberately suppressed news of the damage and disruption caused by butterfly bombs in order to encourage the Germans to keep using them. [...]

the He-163 Salamander did see operational service BUT due to poor maintenance hardly ever got off the ground

Well I just read the plaque attached to the op's images, and it says that 1386 were produced 602 expended in testing and training, and it's operational use was limited due to it's poor accuracy and lack of aircraft capable of carrying it! :bolt:
