Everyone has a plane or two they love to hate or love to fight, whichever way you look at it. I personally don't like LAs and 109s (especially the K4) so I make it my personal interest to shoot those down :airplane:The very first sortie I ever did in the game, I got shot down by LA7 and I've been hating them ever since :joystick:
-
I hate ki84's and spit16 I LOVE all 109's except Emiles, I love hogs too
Screw all niki pilots :neener:
-
Right there with ya Rogent.. LA7's are at the top of my 'I hate you' list.
Followed closely by the a6 and the p38
unless, of course, I'm flying them :D
-
Absolutley HATE LAs and YAKs.
Coming across Doras and Ponies, I know 99.99999999% of them think ACM is having you run out of fuel chasing them 5 sectors.
Most K4s I come across will fight you, Most NIKs and KIs will HO you.
My fav fights are NIKs vs NIKs. When I'm in a C2, I will target 38s and Typhs
-
I hate LA7s, NIKIs some F4Us
Love my Yak
-
I see a Hurri, Brew or zeak in a furball....Its dieing!!
-
I like to kill P38's. Typically those that are already engaged in a nice 1v1.
-
run09's i hate sense most always run, 262's dweeb plane :neener:
-
I see a Hurri, Brew or zeak in a furball....Its dieing!!
:aok
-
When there's a P51B and it's red... It dies! No one flies me plane without me permission :rofl
On the other hand. i love killing 109K4s, other P51s, and like junky said...
if its in a furball in a hurri, zeke, or brewbrew its dieing :aok
-
LA7s and Spits...first targets always.
-
Just about everything the retains more "E" than my Yak I hate fighting against.
-
I love upping my Hurri II against anything :rock
<S>
Rokit
-
Things that lite on fire extremly well!
-

-
well flown f4us (esp -u4s) and ki84s give me the most problems.
-
KI-84's give me fits in the ole trusty Spit VIII if well flown.
-
F4U-1A, C and 4. Spit V, IX and "Special K" (109-K4).
-
47N...Dont know what it is about them,,but when I see one,I will do anything to kill it...Especially if I am in my 109K4.. :devil
-
I hate fighting F4Us.. probably because I'm dumb enough to let them drag me into a scissors move.
Fun to fly them though.
-
47N...Dont know what it is about them,,but when I see one,I will do anything to kill it...Especially if I am in my 109K4.. :devil
Glad i don't fly the "N" 47!
-
I don't hate any plane, my #1 rule is kill the plane that poses the greatest threat at that time or I kill the first plane I see on a team mates 6 first then I look for the next greatest threat.
-
LA7s and dweeb16s
-
i've always hated spits.....but that probably goes back to aw3 when the majority of spit drivers used to just fly flat circles..........
-
I fear no plane.
-
" used to just fly flat circles.........."
:headscratch: used to?
-
I like killing P-38s in my zeke, I always pull lead pursuit when they pull up and they get a nice peppering :)
I hate La7's and F4U's (I can't fly either but they kill me easy) :furious :furious :furious
:D Love flying the zeke and 190
-
Brewsters........ hate em.......
-
I love to target p 51's and p38s usually. Sometimes I like fighting other spits. I absolutely hate being near typhoons or tempests.
-
I go after spits and ponies first if I am in an LA7 or a Yak - cuz I know thye are gunning for me too.
In the 109, I tend to go after other 109s. . .
-
only planes i dislike are the ones that shoot me down
-
That's a lot of planes!
:bolt:
-
man don't I know it
-
Let us see... that is almost every plane except Stukas, Ju-88s and B-25 tards going after the CV only to dart into the sea or Kamikaze. (For me) ;)
-
I hate spit16 because they Never ever wow you with skill.....every other plane at some point is flown by someone who shows you whats what.
-

ive seen some spit16s pull off some flying skills by pilots who fly them alot. Its just like all others just with more dweeb/noobs flying em.
-
K4's are probably high on my hate list, largely because they're the most difficult opponents.
-

I agree but the fact that they were in a Spit16 always negates what could have been so special.
-
I love to fly my 51D. my least favorite plane is spitfires and Nikkis.. if i see them i kill them.
-
I agree but the fact that they were in a Spit16 always negates what could have been so special.
The Spit-16 is really no different from other Spitfires. It just has more power. A spit 8 is almost a Spit-16 and yet people treat it as a skilled pilots plane. I perfer the Spit-8, but I fly the 16, because everyone is in LA's and Tempests and 51's, so the more power I have, the happier I am.

Fact is...nobody considers a spit 8 a skilled pilots plane......You might be able to get away with saying the Spit 5 isnt easy mode but even thats easy to get kills in.

Eat it Junky. :aok :D

This is correct. I should have said Spits period and not just Spit16's. The exception being the Spit1. The only thing difficult about the 5 is the limited ammo but that is such a common problem in so many other good planes it really doesn't count. I'll withhold judgment on the 14 because I never fly it but it is purported to be difficult.

I tried many times in the DA To learn the 14 and u can't fly it like anyother spit I guess, it's a very odd plane high speed stalls very common and poor highspeed controll
-
from what I can tell, you need to fly th 14 like a 109, not like a traditional spit - and if you get it wrong at the top of a loop/vertical zoom, you will t sucked into a flat stall or a decentding prop powered stall that will take you streight to terra firma.

An easy mode plane is one that a given pilot has attained a certain level of mastery in. Therefore, all planes at some point are easy mode... :aok
-
Spit 8 vs. anything in game with a propeller
Ki-84 vs 38 usually wins
Fm-2 vs anything with a propeller
F6 vs most
Nik vs bombers
My Favorites anyway
-

Every single airplane in this game is easy to fly. What can be hard is to pull off certain maneuvers precisely enough to out maneuver your opponent, and the Spitfire XIV is significantly harder in that regard than, say, the Bf109K-4 or P-38L. That isn't to say the Spitfire XIV doesn't have some large strengths (It murders P-51s), but it is not nearly as forgiving of hard aerobatics as the earlier Spitfires.
-
I don't hate any plane, my #1 rule is kill the plane that poses the greatest threat at that time or I kill the first plane I see on a team mates 6 first then I look for the next greatest threat.
+1
Of course, if there's a Brewster or Temp lurking nearby I may divert to make a pass at them. :bolt:

I agree with the 38 being alot easier but K4 and any other tator plane are in their own league just because of that gun....you wont fly it the same.

My definition....same pilot in 2 planes(A8 vs Spit 16) Spit16 wins everytime. I think the spits will win almost everytime against most of the planes in the line up...only ones causing problems being the 51D, La7, N1k, Ki84, and F4U
-
the plane I hate? The one above me........

Some planes are more capable than others but I think you get my point. For instance you in a KI-84 is easy mode, Grizz or Kappa in a 262 is easy mode, CorkyJr or Delirium in 38's is easy mode, Krupinski in a K-4 is easy mode. Bruv in any darn Spit is easy mode. Cobia in an A-20 is easy mode. Slapshot in an SBD is easy mode. All of these examples are pilots that have mastered their favorites to the point of easy mode. Nothing wrong with it, we all have our favorites. It is not just the plane, and not necessarily just the pilot. It's the pilots stick time in a particular plane that yields the easy mode. No plane in this game grants you magic flying ability.

Krup in a K4 dies to me in a KI84 everytime.....because the KI84 outclasses the K4 and one reason I hardly fly it anymore.
BTW Krup beats me same ride probably 7 out of 10 times....I just have better SA ;)

That's it in a nut shell, I've watched Grizz and Corky, Krup, Kappa (died to his 262) lol my bad SA but that's another story, and many others to many to list and there all deadly in there chosen rides and a couple are deadly in whatever they fly, there just great sticks, fun to fly around or against, either way i have alot of fun in 38's, 47's A8's K4's, but none are easy mode for me yet i can hold my own and kill with them but no where near how others have mastered these planes, but now a C205, i seem to fly that plane really good :joystick:

NO NO NO NO!!!!!!

How about the 14 then?
fly it like a 51 with a 109s torque... ive never had a problem controlling the sporkteen
-
I fear no plane.
WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see a Hurri, Brew or zeak in a furball....Its dieing!!
LOL :rofl
-
I have to say, I hate 109's, they're in my opinion a coffin with wings. (I'd put money on the canopy having brass handles!)
I don't go out of my way to shoot them down though.
-
Cept for the running K-4 the 109's are easy in most cases. 190's are a pain also...I hate everything that picks and runs like them
-

Early war models can be better for fighting certain rides....like the G6, K4 gets pwned by a KI84 where the G6 can stay with the KI in the turn a bit better :aok

he also mentioned that the spit16 has more power... more power than what? Spit 8 has the same engine :lol
The 14 is the only spitfire that is a contender into the skilled pilots set. But when flown well. the Spit14 is a terrible foe to encounter...
But i understand what you said now :aok
-
The 16 has more HP than the 14??? On my phone and too lazy to look it up. :D

How about a slight modification to the OP? What about a plane that you hate fighting when you're fighting 'your' fight?
Depending on the player, it's F4U's, A6M's, Hurricanes, Brewsters, and 109F's.
-
The N1K2 and Hurri 2c.
Both formidable planes in the hands of skilled pilots. Unfortunately mostly flown by newer guys, or guys who have been in the game for a bit and still get their kicks from HOing guys. Especially the N1K2 with the heavy ammo loadout it has, makes for a flying WW. Everytime I see one I try not to even get close to the front because I "expect" the HO, same with hurri 2c. Other planes I will take my chances that someone other than the aforementioned clown is flying and actually wants to enjoy the fight.
-
I absolutly love killing Brewsters and IL2s when in a dogfight.
I'll fight anything 1v1 even if I know I have no advantage.
<S>
-
I HO brews. Most over modeled plane in the game. Finnish successes were against obsolete Russian biplanes and rat's

i love the FM-2 to death, and the 38J as well. i can't stand spixteens and D-ponys but i love to shoot them down

Wait for it......
Widow maker is gonna be on him like white on rice :x

Is the Brewster we have in the game modeled exactly as the 239 sent from the United States? Or is it's flight model based on modifications that the Fin's made to the Brewsters after receipt of the planes? Curiosity question here...
-
Fin's version which was much better than the US version.

Roger that Fugitive. Is the Finnish Brewster flight model data based on field modifications or factory produced versions of the plane? Any information is appreciated.

Interesting point. If we allow the Brewster to be modeled as different than factory delivered, then other field mods should be allowed. Or the Brewster should be remodeled as delivered. Interesting indeed.
On a side note, wasn't the P-47M shipped without wing pylons?

Yes! it was an attempt by the US to use the existing JUG to improve intecept and overall air to air performance. I do not believe any Ms produced could carry ord without installation of the pylons. I do believe they could be installed if needed, <-- not positive on that though!

You see my line of thinking Caldera, but I do not want to get ahead of the discussion. Let's see where the data came from first Sir.

Technically we have a field moded plane. The 51B did not come production with the malcom hood, iirc.
-
Lets see, 109's i hate, jugs that dive on you i hate. does feild guns count as a plane? I HATE PLANES THAT COME OUT OD NO WHERE!!!! im like
:airplane: then hes like :airplane: :airplane: then hes like :devil im like :joystick: :O then he's like
:airplane:------------- :airplane: then im like :joystick: :O then im like  then hes like  once he lands...I HATE THEM!!!!

Are you absolutely correct on this? I am still interested in whether the Brewster we have in game is based a factory plane that was then field modified by the Fins. Anybody?
-
Just to double check, I looked at a couple of websites (Not Wiki)
The Malcolm Hood on Mustangs B and C
"When the Mustang III was delivered to England, the RAF decided that the hinged cockpit canopy offered too poor a view for European operations. A fairly major modification was made in which the original framed hinged hood was replaced by a bulged Perspex frameless canopy that slid to the rear on rails. This canopy gave the pilot much more room and the huge goldfish bowl afforded a good view almost straight down or directly to the rear. It was manufactured and fitted by the British corporation R Malcolm & Co, and became familiar as the Malcolm Hood. The hood was fitted to most RAF Mustang IIIs, and many USAAF Eighth and Ninth Air Force P-51B/C fighters received the modification as well."
Source: http://aerofiles.com/malcolm-hood.html
"After production of the B/C model began, three more changes appeared:
an up-rated Packard Merlin engine, the 1650-7 replacing the 1650-3, for a small increase in HP
an 85 gallon fuel tank installed behind the pilot, giving critically longer reach, but moving the center of gravity aft, thus reducing directional stability until most of the fuel was consumed
the bulbous Malcolm hood, giving much better all-around visibility (a field modification)"

Speakin of Brewsters. I love em. but it seems that after Ive had my bit of fun ive got 5 or 6 bad guys on me on the deck no ammo and no fuel. :D Makes for some serious SA training just to see how long you can stay up with these guys on ya. :neener:

I see you line of thinking ... but it ain't gonna work.
The Navy flew the B-339, while the export version was the B-239 ... key word is "export version". Same basic airplane but different configuration. Think of it along the lines of the F4F and the FM2 ... same basic plane but different configuration.
-
SBD ?
I believe he's thinking of SnapHook.

LOL. Apologies, FM2 it is. Consider it for the compliment it is Sir. Got the screennames messed up.
I see you line of thinking ... but it ain't gonna work.
I am not trying to get something to work here Slap. Caldera just took my thoughts a step further. Just honestly curious about this plane that everyone seems to have doubts about. I have no troubles with it. Strictly in learning mode, not "let's crucify the Brewster" mode.

Brews ki84's and dora's. hate them . Considering i'm in the K4 90% of the time i like fighting spits lala's and other 109's. but i love fighting 38's. It's always fun to run into a guy who knows the plan co alt and get into it with him(or her). As fare as pony's are concerned i laugh at most of them. 99% :rock make 2 turns and run. Then i got to use up my wep to show them they arnt as fast as they think they are :)

Bloo planes...... they should not be allowed off the deck IMO
I like engaging La7's ( I fly one usually)

There was a very involved and detailed thread some time ago that Wmaker was involved in, in regards to the the modeling of the Brewster after it's initial release. He provided very detailed and reputable sources that prompted Pyro to make the adjustments mentioned in that release that was quoted.
In all the years that I have been playing this game (9 years this February), this was only the 2nd time that I have seen or can remember a player who correctly sourced data that caused Pyro to make a change. The first time was when my squaddie (Bodhi) provided, at his cost, detailed data that proved that the FM2 did have WEP. When the FM2 was initially released, it had WEP, and then in a subsequent release, Pyro took it away. Bodhi's data convinced Pyro to give the FM2 WEP again, which made all the difference in the world to how it performed compared to the F4F.
Pyro has sources and data that most could only wish to have. Pyro takes modeling of these planes very seriously. Go to a convention some time and talk to him about it ... or just plain talk to him ... you will then understand his passion (in general) and how that passion flows into his work. If anyone can provide reputable data and sources, I believe Pyro is always willing to listen, but when it comes to anecdotal evidence ... forget about it ... it ain't gonna fly (pun intended).
