..where is it? everyone was saying "2 weeks" but its been past 2 weeks, has it been delayed or something? im really wanted to fly it :headscratch: :airplane:
-
Pretty sure we'll get it. If I had to guess I'd say 2 weeks.
-
Just two more weeks Tyrannis, two more weeks. Man I can't wait to fly her. ;)
-
Tyrannis,
"Two weeks" is not a serious answer. It has been a long standing response on this board to respond to inquiries about when such and such will be released/added with some form of "two weeks" (14 days, 336 hours, 20160 minutes, 1209600 seconds). All it means is that it will be added some time in the future.

Karnak pretty much sums it, two weeks is more or less a joke answer in the computer world for when something will be done.
Realistically speaking the B29 either hasn't started production or is in the early stages of design for the game. HTC never tells how long or when an update will be out until the day it happens, and given the complexity of the B29 it could be February or even April before we even see a hint of it. Basically when you start seeing screen shots appearing on the front page then you know it's getting close to release.
-
If I remember right the last "official" word I remember reading on it is that it was to be added to the list of current projects. That was back when the polling took place so I imagine it may be closer to "Two months" than "two weeks". Then again, you might solicit a response to those in the know.... :x :salute

oh god please dont say till april. i shuddered when i read that :uhoh :frown:

Not necessarily, whenever they are introducing a new ride (plane or GV), they always give a preview of the vehicle, plane, etc... However do not expect to see the B-29 in a patch. Normally something such as that may be involved in the next major update. Right now we are on the 2.22 version so I would guess that when we go to 2.23 or even 2.3 you will see it. Not saying it is that way every time, but seems to be the majority of the time. :salute

The B-29 I wouldn't imagine that the B-29 would be out until 6-12 months after the poll ended. April at the soonest.

Not to be confused with "Two dollars. I want my two dollars." :D :bolt:

U think spits are that difficult to beat? I take spits on all day in my a5 and k4 every spit16 pilot in the DA is as good as a 1month noob, go to te MA get skills and go to the DA and do work.
This is coming from an ex DA regular, take this advice and use it please

no, 1v1 with a spit or 2vs one isent that bad, but when it becomes 6-7 vs 1 then yes, thats bad, add in all those spits are HOing you or trying to pick, makes it worse and zaps the fun of Dsquealing.
my solution: up b17s and hunt down any spitdweeb that dares to come above 10k. its worked well for me in the past.

If they come in a hoard take a 190a8 and tater the u now what out of them, take 25% because it will be a short trip :aok

thats the POINT, i dont go into the DA to be forced to fly a plane that can compete with spits. i go in there to have fun p47 vs 190s. ponies vs ki84. p40s vs p39s and fun fights like that, not to be forced to flying planes that can compete with the dweebish plane in there.

Simple answer to this problem don't go to the DA lake. The few times I flown there it really has only taught me one thing & that it is very good at teaching how to avoid the HO. :headscratch:
You know with all the fuss about the DA & F3 mode & every thing else that people complain about with regards to the DA lake. There is only one thing that you really get out of there.
One is instant gratification that you flew 20 seconds to a fight & you get your name in lights for landing kills. I propose we remove the name in lights for landing kills in the DA. I think that will rattel a few of you Lake effect boys. :bolt:

It was before my time here in AH, but didn't it take over year for the last poll winner to get introduced in to the game? The B25 or P39 was voted in, but more than 1 person has said that it took quite a long time to get them put into the game.
I dont really care how long it take HTC to model the B29. I hope they add a great many more aircraft and gv's ahead of it. I think a great many people are going to be disappointed with the performance of the B29 and after getting their tail section handed to them a few time by bomber hunters they may think twice about taking it up.

It took four months for the B-25 to show up. Poll ended Apr 07, B-25 appeared in Aug 07 (Version 2.11)

The B-29 will no doubt require a lot more detailing and modeling than the B-25s did.
Also, the poll simply determined that the B-29 would be moved up the list, but that's not to say that it's going to be started right now. They have other things in the pipeline. They're always working on minor updates and major ones (I wouldn't be surprised if we see 1 or 2 updates before the B-29, to add bits of code or do something that allows the B-29 to work at all).
I would expect nothing before July, rough guess.
C'mon folks, they're still working on updating the older 3D models, they just added the Betty, the Panther, they DO have other things in the queue!

:aok, be happy to know that u will get one in the future, there are a lot of other planes that could use some updates on cockpits and other modeling features. Calm down you will get a b29 sooner or later
-
You will find out in two weeks! :rock

It takes a little while for HTC to make the plane then write it so that it can be flown without issues. I say sometime in January.
Analyze the abundance of evidence provided in this thread, then use that to infer a more logical answer. A few points that stood out while I read this:
1.)It took HTC 4 months to model the B-25, a twin engined medium bomber. Now the the B-29 is a quad-engined heavy bomber. That will probably take a significantly longer period of time to model.
2.)The standards for new models have changed a lot since the B-25 was added. This will undoubtedly add to the development time.
3.)HiTech himslef stated that the B-29 will NOT be the next craft added, but will be moved up to the next open slot. From this we can infer that some crafts will need to be developed, all of which will of course need to be up to recent standards, meaning that even more time will need to be alloted.
From this information we can safely come to the conclusion that it will be much more than a matter of days until the superfortress becomes available.

We wont see the B29 until sometime in early 2012. Besides Hitech is busy with the :pray :pray J2M3 or Ki44.
Besides who wants another bomber anyway. :rock

Allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery... :x

Standard military jargon, just like "hurry up and wait." We live in a 2 week geographical oddity, everything is two weeks out. What a carborater, two weeks. Want some hair gel, Dapper Dan, two weeks. Want a B-29, two weeks.
Not line for line but name that movie.

I wouldn't be expecting anything until at least the second quarter of 2011. And that's at the earliest. As Krusty said, there's probably more to it than adding another aircraft - I would imagine other things need to be done in preparation for it.

Naaaaaa not even close. Do to all the anticipation they put up a hourly count down post in one of the other forums for it. I forget which one at the moment. It was at 336 hours and counting last I checked. Cant wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :aok

I believe construction of an actual B-29 back in the day took less time than it does to superimpose one into this game :aok
Btw, B-29 is too much and not required IMO :uhoh :bolt:

With all the anticipation of the SuperFort, I took upon myself to sneak into HiTech's secret layer! I took a quick snap shot with my trusty super secret spy camera. As you can see, they are close to done, but they must stock up for the day of release.

while HTC is creating there own b29, im too busy restoring my own :aok
(http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f385/xxREXxx_01/B29_floating.jpg)
but on another note: is there any game out there that actually lets you fly a b29? only one ive seen that comes close is fallout: new vegas, where you raise this 200 yr old b29 from the bottom of lake mead, and then use it to drop mini nukes at the battle for hover dam..

Yes fs9 and fsx do have the b29 u just have to download it. While im at it, picture yourself making a detail R/C replica of a b29 then put that into the computer form, and thats how long it takes.

no...thats just stupid.
I'm thinking it's going to be around 200 perks to fly one, 600 for a group. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
-
Has anyone wondered if they're going to be flown with drones or not? I think that bird might actually be tough enough to kill without wingmen.
-

i dont think they should be perked at all, i think some of its BOMBLOADS should be perked, instead of the bomber itself.
-
they would prolly hafta design a whole new perk system to just pek load outs, doesn't seem realistic :headscratch:
-
Few years back Pyro posted about making ammo perks. Was going to have a charge for ammo when you left, and you'd get a credit for any rounds you landed with. New players would only be able to take off in 303 armed planes, until they had enough perks to get a better loadout. We'd also have to pay for bombloads, which woudl be consumed when dropped.
And after about three pages of exclamations and whining, he admitted it was a joke.
