Are you comparing a domesticated animal to a wild animal?

I'm not.. I'm just saying that I don't like seeing dead corpses of ANY animal - especially one that has been shot and is bleeding everywhere.  I don't care if it was hunted or not, I just don't feel that it has a place here.

Ok, I understand.  But it's up to you to not to visit this thread after you see the first picture of a dead deer.  Flench could've put a warning of "Graphic Pics" in the title too, but it did say "For the 270 deer hunter's", so it was a pretty safe assumption it was for people that hunted deer.

I can support that, I'm not a hunter myself though I love guns. However, it's a large part of American culture, particularly the culture of those here on the boards, so I see no reason to forbid it's posting and discussion.

Sharing the firing range with someone who has the BOSS system on their rifle is not pleasant.   :frown:

I use a 7mm-08 Rem from a Rem 700 Mt Rifle, I have a Burris 3x9 compact mounted on top.  A handy rifle.

Nice deer by the way.   :aok

He wouldn't ban you, just wonder why your posting it in a Deer Hunters thread and remove it maybe ping ya, point is no one forced you to post here, if you didn't like the topic just pass it by like so many others have/will, sorry you don't hunt, but many people do, anyway... George nice Bucks but I've noticed a trend thou, there's fewer Dog's in each picture  lol

Then dont post and go on about your business. If Flench wants to share what he accomplished with fellow hunters then let him. Sorry if it upset ONE person when it puts a smile on many many more peoples faces. What if I posted in the screenshots thread saying "I dont want to see damaged planes, it upsets me." That would sound silly, as they are pics from our hobby. These are pics from HIS hobby. Sorry if I sound a little blunt, but it irritates me. If you didnt like what is in the thread then kindly use the exit.

You should probably steer clear of threads that have HUNT, and 270 Rifle in the title then.   :lol

First off, I do appreciate the fact that it says "deer hunter's" in the title.  I could point out that the use of the apostrophe is not proper grammar, as with many of Flench's other improper uses of apostrophes in this thread, but I'll just leave that be.  However there are often many threads here that simply state something like "Hey look at this!" and upon clicking on it you see a dead bloody corpse.

Secondly, I doubt many people aside from hunting or gun enthusiasts would even know what the "270" in the title is even referring to so that isn't even a valid point.

Thirdly, NO WHERE in the thread title does it state "Gun" or "Rifle" or anything else of the sort.

Now I'm not one of those people that are against hunting, or eating meat, or anything like that.  I too enjoy a good steak, a bacon cheeseburger, and even have had (and enjoy) venison from time to time in the past.  If you like to hunt then by all means, go and do so.  My issue is with posting these pictures on boards that have nothing to do with hunting.

Personally, I am not impressed with these kinds of pictures.  Perhaps if the animal was cleaned up I wouldn't have such a problem with it, but really.. posting pictures with guts almost hanging out and puddles of blood everywhere?  How is that even the slightest bit... impressive?  Does it make it look more dramatic?  I once had an old pickup when a 'hitch shelf' with two deer on it that were just bleeding profusely.  There was a light mist on the road and that bloody water kept getting sprayed up on my windshield.  Absolutely disgusting.

My point in bringing up a dog was not to endorse shooting or hunting dogs.. not at all.  I was just pointing out that if you were to post a bloody corpse of a deer, and then someone else were to post a bloody corpse of a dog... well which one do YOU think would get deleted?  And just why is that?  Because we don't eat dogs?  But they are both still bloody corpses, right?  You wouldn't want to see a dead and bloody dog on here, so why would *I* want to see a dead deer?

It really surprises me that more people don't speak out about pictures like this.  I guess in their mind it's all OK because we eat deer.  It's 'accepted' because hunting is a big industry in this country and a big hobby for a lot of people.  Well whatever.. I just personally don't care to see these pictures and I personally don't understand the need to SHARE these pictures.  I also have a strong feeling there are many others out there that think the same thing, but don't have the gonads to say anything about it.

If pictures of fat women can be banned for being "Generally Offensive" then I don't see why this should get a pass...

Funny How some will eat the meat provided at our Grocery stores and then proceed to be offended from the reality of where it comes from. You think that a deer or elk dead on the boards is offensive then visit a slaughter house for cattle. What a hypocrite. You contribute to the daily slaughter of Cattle in Horrible conditions and judge those that work very hard to feed their family's. You are clueless about the culture and probably subscribe to the stereotypes found in our tree hugging animal rights minority.

Typical liberal thought process.  "If I don't like it, neither should you, and I'm going to do everything I can to make you stop rather than have to accept something I don't agree with."

Please note that this comment is related to a way of thinking and not a political affiliation.  The word "liberal" was used not "democrat".

I can support that, I'm not a hunter myself though I love guns. However, it's a large part of American culture, particularly the culture of those here on the boards, so I see no reason to forbid it's posting and discussion.

Not to mention a part of the culture of the ancestors of every single person that exists on this earth today.

I pray to the Earth Goddess that these kindred souls be allowed their rightful place among the spirits of beautiful creatures and trees whose lives have been cut short by the oil driven greed of Men trading pictures like baseball cards! I pray for the earth goddess to appear on the next solstice. She will come down and set everything right. My fellow lesbians and girly men pray to you oh wise mother.

These atrocities against mother earth must not be allowed!

Sunbat,

Have you ever seen that picture of the dead roadkill possum painted over with the double yellow stripe by the painting crew?

 :rofl :rofl

I would post it but do not want to offend the more delicate sensibilities on the forums...
