I'm sure its been asked for before but I wish for ambiance.
Examples:
Town: Small arms fire
Ports: Seagulls, waves crashing, ship building sounds
Airfields: Impact guns, truck noises, and general WWII anouncements over the PA sounds.
GV Bases: Impact guns and general WWII anouncements over the PA sounds.

Ear candy :aok

Ear candy :aok
:aok Great wish
-
FR just dropped about 5 frames just hearing that.
-
How many seagulls hung around a port under attack, I'm wondering?
I ask because I was going to suggest chirping birds for the "European" maps,
but wondered how many would have stuck around with all the gunfire and explosions
and such.

Sounds like time for an upgrade.

Be even more awesome if the PA anouncements told you what was going on in the arena....
"Rooks captured 3 new bases in past hour, and lose 2. Bishop capture 2 new bases in past hour, and lose 1. Knights capture 0 new bases in past hour, and lose 2."
"Bishop Continue to attack Knight base A2 for past half hour. Rooks just lost V35 to Knights."
:aok

I'm not sure, but I understood that this sort of thing was one of the reasons that we switched to the Miles sound system. As I understood it, this is/will be in the works.
I could be totally wrong though.
+1 anyway

Although, if you run over one of those seagulls, it will probably flip your tiger!
Aside from that, I like the idea. :aok
-
Stop prophesying, canacka!
-
I'd like to add waterfalls. The sound of water cascading down the hills will put and CoprHead in the mood.
-
Any* I fail.
-
I thought you said Ambien. :bolt:
+1 to the ideas where reasonably applicable. :aok

They did a research on what you asked, but the ppl where killed during the attack.

Miles sound system *cough*

Been due.......Average FR is about 14.... :cry

Nice idea. I would think someone could put a soundpack together that would play these without any assistance from hitech. I always thought we should have aircraft all over the fields in revetments etc. Wouldnt hurt to see soldiers working on them as well.

I dunno I've flown on ambien.. I just don't remember doing it :D
-
+1 with the option of turning this crap off, I certainly wont hear nothing over the sound of my CHOG or while in a tank with the engine on......

You can't add new sounds with soundpacks, only replace sounds that are already in the game.

:aok

Eggs-Actly.

Eggs-Actly.
WTF? Are you trying to sound like that villain played by Vincent Price on the show "Batman" or what?
-
in a game that revolves around air combat, this just seems quite...hell I dont know, just not a great idea, I'd rather them put there time into new planes, and such like that, I dont understand some of the requests you guys ask for. lol
-
I guess we could all go back to AH1 graphics then too, since this just a game about air combat. Who really cares what things look like and sound like.

We (the brits) in our usual devious and somewhat eccentric manor actually trained seagulls to spot submarines, the idea was of course a complete failure as it was not realised that the gulls didnt actually like to fly more than 1 mile or so from land and could not distinguish between a british sub and a u-boat.This does prove that birds were around and it appears not particularly bothered by the general hostilities,if they were bothered about noise I doubt we would have bird scarers at every airport on the planet.
the ambient noise gets a :aok

How about cockpit radios that tune stations playing Big Band music.
-
I would like to hear some WWII music if I want...But im sure HT doesnt want to deal with copyright issues...I do like the idea of announcements at the airfields

Not sure if your computer can handle it, but Ill run my internet radio (live365.com) in the backround. There are some really good WWII genre radio stations on there. And its free (although you can get a VIP package that you have to pay for, which opens up more stations for you to listed to) A really good free station on it is Rat Patrol Radio. Songs, and (actual) news flashes from the war years.
Just an FYI

Thought about and :aok for the idea. :headscratch: On the application.
With the aid of soundpacks, some really cool battle effects can be created. I believe they would have to coincide with an identifiable event, like a bomb splash, after which someone yells out, "Medic!" or bomb whistle, "Cover my flank, incoming!"
Here is another useful one. As long as auto ack is up, you hear distant gun fire (whether or not it is actually firing). This will signal to the attackers that their are still ack up in a town or vehicle base. No more guessing.
-
I really like the part about the ack...
-
How many birds and such do you hear in a commercial jet that has been designed with noise control in mind? Now how many di you think you will hear in a performance fighter with the engine sitting mere feet next to you?
-

Don't judge me. :D
-
If you add birds then you have to add birdstrikes = NO!! & no tank trap sheep either... :neener:
