YIKES!  Taco Bell?

Look around you local area and you will find authentic Mexican (unless you live way out in the sticks somewhere).

NO.....yellow cheese.
NO.....yellow cheese dip.
NO.....Tex-Mex garbage/crap.

We are lucky here and have 4 authentic spots and 2 are like sitting down inside an eatery in Cabo or in the Yucatan--NOT the tourist places---the places the locals eat at.  The one with square plates is HEAVEN.

No fast food will slow you down, that stuff is akin to eating ex-lax.

Ugh.  I like taco bell food but after this I doubt I'll eat there anymore unless they suck it up like McDonalds did when they got caught doing the same thing, and switch to actual 100% ground beef.  McDonalds made the right choice and if I recall correctly, didn't even put up a fight in court.  It sounds like Taco Bell is going to go the other route, trying to justify selling low quality meat-flavored cereal as "beef".  If that's how they're going to go, then I'm gonna eat elsewhere.

I am sort of pissed off, since I actually thought they were selling me real ground beef.  Jerks.  I hope they refuse to settle out of court and then lose the lawsuit bigtime.  But I'm not eating there anymore unless they switch to real ground beef like McDonalds did.  An apology (again like McDonalds did) is optional...

Lawsuit inspired announcement has already come out.  Taco Bell "beef" only contains 35% beef and by government standards cannot be referred to as "beef".  It's 35% meat and 65% Cod knows what.

I've gone to a Mexican restaurant in Mexico and have had all three things you just listed. Does that mean crappy Mexican food is authentic American food? Now I'm confused.  :headscratch:

Oh come on you wimps... die :)

the best way to combat the long term ill effects of consuming non-organic chemicals as food is to consume more non-organic chemicals to patch the problem...

1) Eat petroleum based foods
2) get cancer 20 years later
3) take drugs to deal with the cancer (and possible other side effects all better than death)
4) smoke weed and make yourself eat, take tons of opiates so ward off the pain & hope your hair grows back.
5) get cancer again but a different kind.
6) hope they find some more chemicals to combat the current problems that only have the side effect of creating more problems later.
7) die!

I'm actually full blown Mexican and am very well acquainted with the food. In mexico i've never seen nachos, hard tacos, burritos,or that pizza/taco stuff. Now the foods do vary from state to state so there might be "texmex" lookin' food more up north. and psh the food may not be anything like the real thing, but is sure is good and cheap!  :D

Ok...can't say that anyone could be surprised...been hearing this for years. Me and the g/f tried some authentic Mexican food this weekend, it was a place that had great reviews and we walked in and all of the customers were Latino so we took this as a good sign.  We ordered, and when they brought our plates out to us my g/f about ran out the door :bolt:.  It literally looked like someone had thrown up into a burrito lol.  I joked that I should have stocked up on toilet paper and Rolaids(women love poop jokes...always  :D).  We ate it and vowed never to go back.  It wasn't terrible, but the presentation left much to be desired.

So I just watched the Today Show. They brought a woman on who thought that since Taco Bell has only 35% beef, the people who DEPEND on it for protein... would suffer. Alright, guys... How many of you go to Taco Bell for it's nutritional value?

I WANT THE FACTS!

Leave it to fox to get something wrong...  j/k, j/k, but I do keep finding fault with them.

Anyways, It would be acceptable by FDA standards as a "beef" labeled product if it did contain at least 35% real beef or more.  Taco Bell is being sued because testing found it contained notabley less than 35% real beef.  How much less, probabley gonna have to wait for the case to start... unless Taco Bell settles with the plaintif beforehand... keep your eye on this one IMO, I figure it's some horrid percentage and Taco Bell will settle outa court with the plaintif for a pretty penny so as to keep the actual results of the testing confidential.

Dang..
People are complaining about 35% beef at a fast food joint when they only put like a quarter ounce in any menu item.

Good thing you dont see the processing plant where they make Mcnuggets( trust me, you would rather eat the oats, soy or whatever fillers in the beef) or worse...good ol american HOTDOGS :x

Why I go to Jack in the Box.

I know, I like jacks better, and I'm a sucker for their 99 cent tacos, but I always love to point out to people that the corporate bahemoth that owns Jack in the Box is the same corporation that owns Pedegree brand pet foods.  :D  And I assure you I'll be having more of those tacos within a week.
