A little story first. I was flying last night and hooked up with a guy I don't usually fly with because he's on the Bish most of the time and I'm not. Had fun, and switched to Blue after the war was won there and ended up fighting against this same guy. The first thing I saw him type was complains about being ganged by 3 guys. I pointed out I was one of the 3 guys, but had never engaged as I think 2 on 1 should be enough guys, so I flew on by. Ended up having a couple of fights against him both of us in Brewsters, even one were we both lost a wing in a collision, again fun stuff. I was defending a base, and had finally got on the tail of this slippery F6 and started shooting when I see the brewster diving in on me. Seeing as I'm the only rook against a number of Bish, and seeing as I knew it was the same guy that really hated getting jump earlier, I figured I was going to be left alone to finish my kill before he'd engage.
Well you know what happened, Mr "I don't like getting ganged" ganged me. Needless to say I have lost all respect for this loser and he was going to be the subject of todays cartoon, names and all. But then I thought, why lower myself to his level. So instead I drew up a picture for a friend instead of some losers, So I give you.....

I had to look up who it was. :noid

Nice cartoon too. :aok

Your work is great, Fugitive - keep it coming!

It's all Karaya's fault. :)

Off topic or on it as I'm replying to this statement in your post. It really doesn't matter if you engaged or not, you were still a third icon that the player had to track, watch, whatever and s/he would not have known your intentions to not engage and would have been a fool to discount your presence in the area around him.
-
CHARLIEEE!!!
CHARLIEEE!!!
Lets go to candy mountain Charlie!
Karaya lost his kidney and we need to go find it Charlie!
Yes Charlie, lets go to Candy Mountain Charlie!

Absolutely true... but I don't think that was the point, right? :)
Don't whine about [insert dweebish actions here] then actively enagage in the exact same behavior....... :old:

BINGO !! We have a winner !
....and yes I'm positive Karaya had something to do with it !
-
I can tell if the third guy is engaging or staying out of it... Just saying
-
I dont mind fugi. And for the record it was I who was to be the cartoon today..
Yes I was working 2 when fugi came by and it is true he did not engage, but as tinman said,I had to track him also,as I did not know his intentions..
LATER,after that We had a fun fight brew V brew, and on our first merge he lost his right wing, and I my left wing,it was a hilarious turn fight as one could imagine. And was fun..
After he went down I ejected to re-up and flew back over to the base where fugi was,at that time I saw that he was on a squaddies six and the squaddie was having a tough time getting him off,I knew it was fugi,BUT I also knew that my squaddie would go down unless I lent a hand which I did.AND I would do the same thing again and again.
TO me I would of lost more face just flying around watching my squaddie get shot down than to go and help him out of a sticky situation..The whole point of having a squad is helping each other out of those type of situations.
Falcon23 :salute

Who is Karaya and which map is this Candy Mountian in?
-
I guess that's where we differ. To me it's all about the fight, and funny thing we each called off others when we were fighting the other fights. Got the impression it was all about the fight then too. Your squadie did fine and it took me a while to finally latch on. Maybe he would have got out, maybe not, but well never know as you had to jump in just to save him from having to up another plane ...which I'm sure he did after he RTBed any way.
No class, No honor, just another dweeb after a cheap kill. Congrats, WTG
-
Falcon23,
So by your own argument you should assume that 2-3 cons engaging you at once are either squaddies acting as you describe.....or even just teammates, who are also obliged to help each other out if intending not to lose 'face', as you put it.
So moral of the story is don't complain about things you do yourself.

It would be one thing if you were winging with your squaddie the whole time and helped him out. But by your own statement above, you were nowhere near him when he chose to engage Fugi. He made his decision and unless he was screaming like a girl for help, you should have let him try to fight it out.
This is of course just my opinion of a guy who likes the fight; win, lose or draw. :salute

Sorry Fugi, but that just smells of elitist bullcrap. In the MA, class and honour is being polite and respectful to all and sundry, first and foremost. If you want 'the fight' come fight me in the DA. If you expect 'the fight' in an arena full of 300 people....you're having a laugh, right?
The reason you wont often fight in the DA to get your 'fight' is because you know the regular duelers will kick your butt. You are only demanding a 'fair fight' when you think you're going to win.
Moral of your story. Stop expecting the impossible out of a chaotic environment.

I'm sorry, I was going by what had gone on for the 20-30 minutes prior to the last one. We both showed class and honor, was thinking it may continue, but I was proven wrong.
As for flying in the DA sure I'll get my butt handed to me, I don't have the timing and tricks down like most of the top dogs that duel in there. Tho I do remember you and I having some great fights that first month WWI was open.

Timing and Tricks. LOL.

^This^
Look, case in point: Yesterday we were fighting Bish and The Few were over there, Bish side. You had BETTER expect that they're gonna use squad tactics and clear each other's 6, no matter how much the guy wants to kill one of them without interferance, it just isn't gonna happen that often. I latched onto a Typhoon with my 190A5 and furiously fought to get on his six, and he didn't make it easy on me, some of the best flying I've ever seen someone do in a Typhoon, flaps out and moving around more like a Harrier jump jet than a big 'ol Tyffie. I managed to work him into my sights, and raked him with cannon fire. I saw hit sprites starting at his tail and working all the way up the fuselage to the nose. I should mention I felt particularly good seeing those hits because I never fly German iron, and particularly stink in a turnfight in a 190 of any flavor.
I never got a kill message in the text buffer, not for him. Instead, it read "Bruv119 has shot you down. You have been killed" as I stared out the tower window in disbelief, all I could do was laugh. DAMM! He did it again! Sneaky Bastage!!
DrBone came over 200 and told me he was the Typhoon and he was dead, I got him I guess but I never lived to enjoy it.
Was there any whining on 200 about a pick? No, 'cause that's what happens when you're 1) in the MA, and 2) trying to kill a guy who has squaddies around. They're not gonna let it happen, unless he tells them "No, stay out!" and even then sometimes they're not gonna ask him, they're just gonna do it, because that's what squaddies do. Otherwise what's the point of being in a squad?
:salute to Bruv119, DrBone, and The Few. Fun fights yesterday.
That being said, yeh, I ain't no angel, I've pizzed and whined on 200 about being ganged, but 99% of the time I try to phrase it in a manner that is either mocking or funny, not "angry." Because hey, I chose to engage a plane with the knowledge that if the fight didn't end very quickly in my favor there was an almost certain chance more "baddies" would try to come to the aid of my would-be prey. I do not hold them in contempt for doing so, it is just the nature of cartoon combat in the MA.
Moral: The only behavior in the MA that I can affect is my own, and I personally make it a point to never jump into a 1v1 in progress unless I ask the green icon involved if he needs/wants help. If he doesn't answer or says "no" I stay out . If the odds are stacked more heavily on the bad guy, 2v1 or more, I keep flying. The lone exception is if the bad guy is a runner and it's obvious they aren't gona catch him, then I'll join the chase if it looks like I can catch and turn the guy. If I dive in and kill the bad guy, he might get mad about being ganged. But in the end, my loyalties are to my squaddies and countrymen, not the red icons. I don't gang because I don't like kill stealing, not because I feel compassion for the enemy pilot's "struggle."

I get my butt kicked all the time in the DA. Those fights we had were great, I'm pretty sure you handed me my butt there too. I was harsh in my comment, I appologise for not wording it better.
I know you love 'the fight' and are not afraid to go head to head. I just don't understand why you are searching for it in the wrong arena.
Why don't you go to the DA more often then? In your own words.
Or perhaps, I could stop aiding in this hijacking a funny cartoon thread. :lol Top class work once again. Candy mountain mishuns are the best :devil

Happens all the time actually. And doesn't happen also. Which is why it's nice when it does happen.
Nice cartoon Fugi. Lol at the cow.

Should have a contest to name the "albums" :D

true Shiv, but you cannot force it to happen perhaps?
can name a couple of the albums, but i'm not a huge floydd fan.

+1
Playing a while and you learn what to expect after the initial merge. Does he high tail and run the second you get the advantage? Does he spray at 1.5k directly for your face? Or just run to the shelter of his ack.
Each sortie, you should always expect to be ganged, HOd etc. Countering these just makes getting a kill the hard way much more satisfying.

Top 2 behind cockpit: (of the Ki-61 I believe the plane resembles???)
Tree of half life
Animals
Bottom 4 from front to back along the fuselage:
The Darkside of the Moon
The Division Bell
Atom Heart Mother
The Wall
think I got em right....... I like Floyd, but not as much as Karaya does...
Kewl Drawing there, Fugi :aok

I think you have them all right, even the plane !

The cow is the cover to Atom Heart Mother. I'd have to go back and look at the others to see what was there, I remember seeing Animals and The Wall and Division Bell for sure also. I'd need to peek again to get the rest. The Pink Floyd are one of my all time favorite bands in the world, I've had all their albums at one point or another.
-
Excellent as always!
-
I like ruthlessly ganging players because it makes them cry and their tears feed me.
-
Hahah, to misquote a truly great man Kazaa
And squaddies think alike, and this is no exception.
When I get to MA, I turn the HO light on and keep my head on a swivel at all times. Because people are going to be tards in the MA thats just the bottom line. So I tard back. And its actually fun.

Another awesome cartoon. :aok
Not to take this off-topic, but I wonder if there are too many devils in the details of getting your work posted as a regular front page feature on the HTC website. I'm sure Skuzzy would love one more thing to do. :D

Great comic yet again :aok
as for Mr. "I don't like to get ganged", I'm one of those people who DO like it. In those situations I don't go for kills, I just like to see how long I can fly before one of them finally gets me. Just today I was jumped by 5 fighters near their base, and eventually a 6th and 7th jumped. I knew I'd never live being so close to their base so I just dodged attacks for as long as I could. I ended up dieing but not before I made two of them auger and smoked 2 more :D

You'll notice the Ely Cathedral in the background. It's bells were recorded and used on a couple of Pink Floyd tunes. "Fat Old Sun" and "High Hopes". Ask Bruv or Kazaa about it, it started construction around 1085. Heck google it and bewilder yourself in why that type of Gothic Architecture appeals to a lot of people (Church or not).
As with most of Storm Thorgerson's work, is it Two Faces or One? It's both. They also weigh about 1 ton a piece and IIRC are at the R&R HOF in Cleveland, so I'll probably head there soon to grab a picture of em.
Or perhaps you'd prefer the also handcarved ones made, just to be photographed? These were about 2 tons a piece.

Loser was incorreclty spelled as "looser". Which brought out the mis-speeling trad Grizz. Makes no since to me but what do you do?

It is sense not since you should use in that sentence. Your writing is looser than a loser... Just thought I'd be a trad before Grizz. :D
