The motto of one of my old units is "Sua Sponte", In latin it means of your own accord, and refers to the ability to accomplish great things with out prompting.

I would say you are doing that RMRider.

Hey Wurzel, I'll be in 29 Palms in March to see my kid ! Is there anything worth seeing in the area?

Again to RMrider thank you and <S>..My son loves the marines and stays very busy...in April he is going to  the Mountain Warfare Training Center and then on to Dog handler school in May.

Heya Wojo, hmmm, anything worth seeing in 29 Palms - let me get back to you on that.

We do have the Joshua Tree National Park if you like desert scenery/scrambling over boulders etc, and March is a good time of year, not too hot, cool in the evenings etc.

If ya fancy a beer or 2, gimme a shout (I'll pm you my number) and once I've got my head out of my butt, I'll pm you some decent info re 29 fella.

Update:

Well,

He's halfway through with Parris Island.

The kid actually likes it!   :lol

Passed his pool tests, gas chamber and rifle range.

Expecting him to be honor Grad.  Grads on May 13th.

Only 17 yr old on the island.

More proud than ever here.
