Seriously? I got more air time plus bomb hold capacity than you and i don't have to be as low over the targetbut are you undetectable and able to be more precise with different weapons? and do you have a 105mm, 40mm and 20mm cannon all in one? do you have flares that make you look like an epic angle of death?
I win, don't need all that fancy radar and flare stuff. All i Need is Chuck Norris! :rock(http://seemslegit.com/_images/8593bdc3002cff8f0814f6e886c0d784/1955%20-%20air%20bang%20chuck-norris%20plane%20power%20vehicles.jpg)

Its easy to see where the Wildcat got its good looks! Seriously, I saw this one fly at an airshow a while back and it absolutely stole the show. Very cool in flight.

Now, I WIN PERIODI still can't figure out how one could brag about thinking such a pedestrian looking plane is most beautiful of all warbirds. Like comparing Beagle to Greyhound or Doberman. The only exception is a clipped-wing XIV.
Nothing looks as cool and rakish as this..................I drive by 4 F1 airframes everyday at the Marana Regional Airport just collecting dust.

Should have been the next generation in business aircraft but somehow never caught on. There is one sitting in the yard where I'm at school, engines long gone, avionics stripped, but it still has a cherrywood wet bar and cabinets/closet and posh leather seats. Makes me sad to think it'll never fly again every time I see it. :(

Here is a real classic in the gorgeous line...
Nice. It's a shame more of those aircraft aren't still around..... especially the LA5s and even more the LA7. I was reading up on Kozhedub's White 27... didn't realize there wasn't but one solitary LA7 airframe still in existance, and it is in the museum in Moscow, painted to represent White 27.... and is hardly complete and likely never to be airworthy again....There are a few of them kicking around in small museums around Russia and one in prague I was talking with one of the employees at the Central air force museum during one of my prior visits and he said the biggest problem they have with it is the fact that the glue is of poor quality and the wood rots away I agree that it is a shame that there arnt many around though, but in the north america there are plenty of Yak's as far as I know
Such an important plane to have all but vanished......
hopefully will be able to fly this little baby to Oshkosh this summer.

this is her right now. Just had her wings attached, engine is finally refitted and completely installed. Just have to finish putting the cockpit back together and getting everything finished then give it its annual and flight test it. If you are wondering what happened to it, it flipped while landing at our airport coming home from an airshow and became a little crunched, in Spring 2009. It was out all last year's air show season and we just got it back in december. It was supposed to be back and flying last may, but that didnt happen.

i think most russian planes are crap (both in performance&looks). but i will admit the mig1.44 is one of the coolest looking bombers ive ever seen.

Do you have any facts that back up your theory?
And showing Russian prototype planes does not count, also showing US planes given to Russian (such as P-39) does not count either.
There was a P-39 pic posted by Imowface?
Always liked this a/c. Even has a reverse when on the ground.

Russian aircraft PERFORMANCE, is almost always superior to the US aircraft. However technology and weapon systems is where the US aircraft win out.
I remember Eagl, our resident F-15 pilot once said and I quote: "The f-15 is the best BVR aircraft ever designed save the Raptor, but if the SU-27 gets close, he will fly up your assshole before you know whats happening"
There are a few of them kicking around in small museums around Russia and one in prague

plus (at the time) the USAF and the luftwaffe would run mock training maneuvers and combat situations with the f15vs the mig29 every september (they have an official name for it, cant remember).
from there training they came to the conclusion the f15 was a much more superior plane over the mig29. beating it 15 our of the 18 engagements they played.

In korea & vietnam you did not have russian pilots (well you had less than ~5), so what good is a good airplane if you don't have a pilot that can fly well? USAF training was/is not comparable to korean of vietnamese. Also as far as I remember US pilots had a lot of trouble with Mig-15s in korea, and most of thous were korean pilots, vietnam did not seem so easy either.military channel did a documentary on it. i cant remember what its called tho.
Take a look at what USAF really thinks about the Mig-21: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reVZ9aPYi9A&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reVZ9aPYi9A&feature=related)
Would you have an official report for the F-15 vs Mig-29?
I'm not saying that Russian airplanes are better, but I'm not saying that US planes are better either. (at least of that time)

:aokI dont believe there is anything different between the L-21 and the super cub but im not 100% sure. Ours is a 1954 L-21B which is the same as the PA-18-135. both are powered by a 135HP Lycoming O-290-D2 engine.
Could you explain me the deferents between a regular PA-18 and an L-21? I understand you can have a different engine there, but is the airframe exactly the same? If not do they handle any different?
thanks
