Your boring the heck out of me. I promised this camp I would be far more aggressive. So I up under the enemy, I go in at low alt. Then I run out of gas while 6 ponies, 3 109s, 2 f4us, and even a spit just b&z me. The Bish, once my proud chess piece have gotten so self unassured they won't even follow me out of their horde. Then when I finally isolate one and get involved with my f4u1a against a spit, f4f or some other turner and forget about the other 30 I get picked. I can't say alot about picking because I pick as well. I'm just so hungry for the fight. Not sure if I should pay 15 bucks a month for this amazingly weak game play.
That was just an example, this happens every night and day. I even told them send two down to the deck. I'll fight the two. I won't survive but at least I'd get some action.

complain has been filed
you can always climb to 20K and BnZ the horde.

Actually it's more of a whine. And I did. I took a ta152 to 28k today.

But the air is SO thin up there.......how can you fly ;)

So how many people did you pissoff? :rofl
-
go to the da lake.
-

Well they quit flying buffs after I killed a few LOL.
-
omg...life is soooo rough ain't it...
as entertaining as all these whines are...it makes me wonder how many teenage girls are playing ah...there is less drama in a soap opera.
-
My fondest hope is this doesn't go into 24 pages.
Tonight I just climbed to 20k plus. Honestly don't like spending the time. knocked off a few strat killers, some runners, and some buffs. Did refuse to gang a p51 that already had 3 guys on him (Not that it makes me a fair guy).
-
I guess the correct whine should be why doesn't any other chess piece take up a horde to meet the horde? :D
I believe HTC, attempted a fix for that at one time, when they enforced a base capture order. Like most really well thought out ideas, it was too much of a change in routine for the players so they resisted and eventually got their way. This is not a dig at HTC, only an observation of the rocky path of progress.

It was abandoned at that time not because it was simply a change of routine, but wasn't a well though out idea at all.
-
I have nothing against hordes. I just wonder why, if in a horde, are they so standoffish. I flew with a horde to fight a horde a couple of days ago. Many climbed to about 8k or more. I went in at 2k in a plane I may have flown once before, f4-1. Landed 6 kills. Zipping through the sea of red, chronically checking my 6, pointing my nose up, nervously, and hoping my buds clear my 6. They did at least 3 times.
It is the most awesome feeling to face your fear and fly into what may be certain death and come out clean on the other side. I'm not a great pilot for sure, but I do have confidence that I will at least give many players a tough time in the ma, under that type of pressure.
Oh a hint for the novice. Many people look up when on the deck and for good reason. What they don't expect is someone coming in on the deck to get them.

It was awful! Flexibility was hampered.

Carefully in that thing. Try not to dive steeper than 45 degrees or you will find yourself screaming to the deck with broken wings. Awesome cannons tho. Tough plane to land too. One of my favorite specialty aircraft. Good for taking out 262s as well as buffs. You are out of luck on the deck with it. I think, not real sure, it is the faster climber above 20k other than the 163. Just keep it climbing around 200 mph. Has great range also.
Took that thing to 42k in an FSO once. I get disoriented that high.

My bird climbs better up to 37K :D

This probably the single most important problem with people quitting the game or taking breaks from it (like i did) because people really don't fight to better their skills anymore. They always BnZ they always run once you get the advantage and they never learn how to really fight. Most people suck when it comes to one on one now days because al they do is run once it doesn't go there way. This is such a frustrated topic I don't even want to talk about it anymore.

ROFLMFAO!!!...nothing against you personally but, i find such commentary humorous when amazingly many such comments come from people who fly the uber easy mode late war clown planes against 30+ eny aircraft...not saying that you do it yourself.
it really is too bad few players know, must less understand boelcke's dicta...wonder if it would decrease the drama on 200 and in the forums...
•Try to secure the upper hand before attacking. If possible, keep the sun behind you.
•Always continue with an attack you have begun.
•Only fire at close range, and then only when the opponent is properly in your sights.
•You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent, and never let yourself be deceived by ruses.
•In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind.
•If your opponent dives on you, do not try to get around his attack, but fly to meet it.
•When over the enemy's lines, never forget your own line of retreat.
•Tip for Squadrons: In principle, it is better to attack in groups of four or six. Avoid two aircraft attacking the same opponent.

Also add to that list:
Veterans are predictable, it's the amateurs who are dangerous.

I was so frustrated after a couple of days of that. Probably should have kept my whine to myself. In all my years of playing I just never saw it so bad. In actual war I think they really did the same thing though.
-
Same old story, though I think it has gotten worse with hordes of newer players who don't have any previous flying experience in sims like the original crop of players did... However, as always, the solution is simply to kill them and laugh at them.

You are absolutely right stang. Best go back to my old AW ways of thinking. Teach 'em they are going to die no matter their alt.

Vets whining about the way the game is played is pretty funny. After all of the time you've spent here, haven't you learned ANYTHING???
:rofl :rofl :rofl

Actually it is me flying the 15-30eny planes and the p-51Ds especially that do not realize that they can do more then make one HO pass then run far away turn around and repeat. Why cant these pilots fight in general instead of running away and hoing the entire time especially when we both start out co-alt. It is frustrating.

Heck, I get frustrated with the large number of P51D pilots who come in with a few thousand feet of advantage who do nothing but the one pass/extend 5k attempt HO extend 5k repeat game. I really don't care if you kill me at the end of a fun fight. Just please don't bore with the timid flying stuff.

you're flying your toon to it's strengths right? consider the pony pile-it is flying his toon to its strengths too...turn fight in a p-51d and you will usually die. granted in general terms, the 5k extenders are usually noobs who learned that stuff in the da from some furball lake hero, and don't know any better...no avoiding them unfortunately...they are easy to bait though.

Oh I get what you're saying and agree, but the P51 is far more capable then people give it credit and the long long extensions get terribly tiresome.

this would be perfectly legit.....if your life really depended on how you flew in AH...using this as to why someone flies the way they do in game is :rofl at best.

it's a shame ain't it? strangely that same modus operandi occurs in other multiplayer flight sims...

not that i would expect it ink, but if you actually comprehended each aspect of boelcke's dicta and considered that for the most you use many of those principles...imagine what the fights in the main arenas would be like if everyone at least attempted to use them...
i'll try to help you with the translation in ah terms:
•Try to secure the upper hand before attacking. If possible, keep the sun behind you.
already occurs for most players...altitude is life...attack from above.
•Always continue with an attack you have begun.
no running away, no ack hugging, no runstangs....
•Only fire at close range, and then only when the opponent is properly in your sights.
self explanatory...the better sticks don't fire from 1k out hoping for a golden bb...
•You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent, and never let yourself be deceived by ruses.
no brainer really...
•In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind.
another no brainer...in ma terms it would mean fewer ho's
•If your opponent dives on you, do not try to get around his attack, but fly to meet it.
in acm terms climbing to your opponent head on as he is diving on you will put you in a better position to get on his six as he is trying to maneuver from the dive... :lol ...of course the brewster may be an exception
•When over the enemy's lines, never forget your own line of retreat.
doesn't really apply to toonville
•Tip for Squadrons: In principle, it is better to attack in groups of four or six. Avoid two aircraft attacking the same opponent.
the important part is underlined...fewer whines of gang bang, picktard, etc...
i hope that simplifies it enough for you...

:lol ya NO body would fight with out an advantage....MA's are bad enough as it is...I think I know what you are saying, but the simple fact remains this is a game and to use "tactics" that were designed to insure your success at staying alive, into a game that no one dies is.....well I find it funny. but I have ALWAYS been of the mind set that I do not care how anyone flies just how I fly. you will never hear me complain about being "Ganged" "horded" "picked" "vulched" "dragged through ack" any of the stuff that happens in the MA, it is what it is, I learned that A long time ago. I have ALWAYS fought the "hourd" and will continue to do so for as long as I find myself here :aok but for me it is funny when Say im fighting like 4 or more cons and they ALL HO, or the 1 con that lost advantage and then just runs to friends instead of trying to overcome......to me that crap is funny, and I cannot help but laugh at it.
-
You are absolutely right stang. Best go back to my old AW ways of thinking. Teach 'em they are going to die no matter their alt.
I've always maintained alt advantage is merely a tool, which can be used for or *against* one.

Is there any possibility that those that fly this way, do so because they enjoy flying this way?
Is there any possibility that those that fly this way are aware that they are playing a game and its not real life but they still enjoy flying this way?
-
i find that flying low b17s into the horde is best way to break them up or put them in single file for your teammates... and i can usually take out 2-3 too. its also makes the horde chew up its ammo and forces them home faster.

oh im sure it is....still funny as watermelon to watch a con who has all the advantages at the start and in 2 turns runs like a little girl...they have every right to fly like that :aok and I have every right to laugh my bellybutton off at them....hell I could be so much more abusive on 200, but I don't give no one a hard time in how they fly.... hell I even <S> those that kill me, no matter how many friendlies they need :rofl
-
, but the simple fact remains this is a game and to use "tactics" that were designed to insure your success at staying alive, into a game that no one dies is.....well I find it funny.
In a game where the plane is the "avatar", getting shot down represents "dying" so there is a virtual death one suffers when one looses a fight. While we don't die in real life, we do "die" in game when our plane or vehicle gets blown up and there is really nothing wrong with people trying to prevent that from happening, which is what everyone tries to do in game.
When you come down to it, is there really a difference between someone when they fight tries to win and someone using tactics to ensure the same result?
ack-ack

impossiable
just as impossible to pronounce that

cmon on now ack ack......I applaud anyone who uses Tactics to "win" if someone is BnZ me to death, I will never, NEVER say they are lame if they do not stop to "turn" fight me, its the guys that never "TRY", that only attack at an advantage, and run as soon as their advantage is gone, only fly in a hourd, only Vulch....and all the other lame behavior that is so rampant in game
no not "everyone" cares if there cartoon pilot dies...I am not happy unless im dying, I put myself in that position every sortie :aok don't get me wrong I try to stay alive, but I would rather die a blazing cartoon death then run like a "female dog" seriously its a Combat game you know this full well, when 90% of the mains try to avoid combat to save there cartoon pilot.....well its laughable :rofl and I enjoy laughing at the masses :t

I agree, I find that timid flying to be very boring myself but they are trying to do what you said you try to do and that is to "try and stay alive" but they are just going at a very limp wristed way.
I don't care if I get shot down either, it comes with the territory but I will tell you, I would much rather win the fight then get shot down.

Oops, wrong thread.

LOL. So true. If one stops and thinks about it, that very well may be the crossroads of Aces High.
