Its an idea of mine that is in need of opinion and critism, the current town we have looks wonderful however, its a ghost town. If its owned by the enemy shouldnt the enemy infantry occupy it? Im not saying your going to have a M1 Garand and a bazooka and be running around as a soldier shooting, heck no. Im saying what if we had the town look a little more like its expecting company (sandbags and barbwire for example). And AI troops in certain buildings around town with MGs and light AT firing from the windows, not in roads or streets. Like the AA on top of the HQ, but instead of an HQ its a garrisoned town building, and instead of AA its light AT and small arms fire being shot from the windows. I think adding this would make the game more enjoyable when attempting to destroy a town as well as give our tanks MGs more to shoot. With that being said Im ready for my :ahand by you :lol I later plan to photoshop some town pics of our game for you to have a better idea..

I'm all for more realism, but I seriously doubt that we will have a new town any time soon. We just got this one after 10 years of having the old one.

not really a new one, because i like ours, just thinking of some options to have done to it.

it is a REAAAALLY interesting idea and makes the game more cinematic. i like this idea and i am waiting to see your photoshop work. would be great if troops could shoot at the enemy troops aswell but that would be a complicated AI thing to do. would have to be a fps' npc style of AI coding. but i just imagine those troops jumping from the C47 and getting on the ground and doing some running then stop and take cover... well its a lot of imagination and work to get there

I love the idea, +1, but at the same time, a whole bunch of little animated objects would be a dialup killer, and ruin many a fine folk's FPS.
Then again I might have read that wrong and you just mean more static objects in town..... Like a jeep here and a milk truck there....... +1, twice!

yeah, just something that doesn't make it look like its a ghost town, i swear i roll into town and it feels like I'm watching the movie silent hill...

i like this idea.
To make it less difficult there could be a tiny flag on the 1 or 2 buildings in the main part of town that have them :)

actually its the third town we get.
The first one was so small a single 110G2 could almost kill it alone :x

We used to have tank traps on the beaches and dragons teeth at tank town in Ndisles. Wonder what ever happened to them? Think they disappeared the same time the sheep did.
At least bring those back.

I assume the townsfolk hide when you show up.
I mean honestly, if your town had enemy tanks rolling into it would you be out and about?

Actually, I prefer the Tank Town streets and buildings. I loved the cool new village when it was introduced. I think it looks very awesome, but I don't think it is functional as battlefield the way that Tank Town buildings and Streets seem to echo the WW2 footage for tank movements in urban areas. It would be an awesome idea to redo the TT destroyed buildings so they resemble cobble stone ruins, maybe even exposing a machine gunners nest on a second story, that is AI.

I want babes in lawnchairs to look at while I'm driving my LVT up the beach.
+1 though. Some sandbags and barbedwire, maybe an (unmanned) AT gun hiding in the bushes somewhere.

its already been made impossible to take towns unless by a hording squad... you want to make it even harder?

No, I just want eyecandy. Nothing that will actually impede capture, it will just look cooler. Its the same thing as updating our troops. They were fine before, they just didn't look all that great.

be nice to have AI troops that actually did something other than run in a straight line to the maproom

Skyguns... +100000000000000 to this idea. I love it. Not really having many new things that actually DO anything IMPORTANT, just like what a previous poster said: "milk truck" or something. I think it was MarineUS.
I'd REALLY like to see some anti tank traps, and at least things that don't make the town feel like one of those nuclear test towns... :bolt

+1 to the tank traps on the beach and maybe add 2 manned guns in towns to help defend it.

How about this....use the idea of having troops running around town, ports, etc and you get perks and damage points for killing em? Same as destroying Dar, ord bunkers etc but give it a little more variety when shooting up towns, ports and bases...thoughts?

I have never particularly cared for representing straffing infantry men. Now, if they are manning AA against my aircraft, or have bazookas for my tank......

its a great idea, but it should only go into effect if someone ups from the base and drops off troops...10 troops maybe 3 areas active........3 troops one area of the town active.

there should be a standard number defending town before any are dropped and considered "reinforcements'

well yeah, but AH doesn't take into account the random path of shell and bomb fragments. If somethings within *x distance* of *y sized blast* it dies, 0 chance that the shell or bomb-fragments missed the gun crew.

true but it would give the 100 pnders objectives. Imagine for 1 minute a infantry mortar position on the beaches with tanktraps

i like this idea +1
maybe replace some of our anti tank shell bushes with some barbed wire? couple guns up in the bell tower? maybe a few jeeps around? and as sugjested that one unamnned hidden AT gun would be nice would suck a ttimes.... roll up in town in a tiger...take a left... no more tank
would be cool if there was a jeep patroling the town that you would have to kill before capture...
even if it made it harder to take i think it would still be worth it

its a town not a base i could see 3-5 jeeps with tanks on standby if anything spotted..but to run constant patrolls not really but 1 jeep would stop the ppl from complaining that its "to hard"

Oh, ok. sorry, I thought you meant the airfield. 1 jeep would be enough, maybe 2, running opposite cirlces around the town border.

AI vehicles (other than jeep) wouldn't be welcomed for many reasons

I'll only accept AI beachtraps and AT guns if it takes 30 seconds for AT guns and 20 for beachtraps.
