Rather than wait 5 months to get a four wheeler, I'm personally going with a go kart since i can get it sooner, and its more practical for air soft and driving on roads. http://www.powersportsmax.com/product_info.php/cPath/40/products_id/14675 (http://www.powersportsmax.com/product_info.php/cPath/40/products_id/14675) Thats the Official Choice  Wanted to know what yall thought.
Side note:I Need a vehicle thats practical for airsoft, thats why I chose a go kart over a four wheeler

Go-karts are alot safer than 4-wheelers IMO

Yeah a harness is very appreciated! Its also already made to be street legal, It has reverse lights, turn signals and brake lights. You would only need to register it. But i'm more concerned with the air soft role. Imagine welding on a .50 cal machine gun on the front :lol

In many places you can register a side x side and drive on the road.
I prefer something more suited to my needs like a Yamaha Rhino, which I have.
It boils down to what you want to do with it. Don't jump on one just because you can get it now. Be patient and get what you really want.

It is what i want, its speedy, safe, and is perfect for hunting and air soft. I thought about choices for a week then it boiled down to this one.

150cc is a little small dude.

150cc is a little small dude.
I don't need a very large engine, its carry capacity is almost 400 pounds and can go 45+ MPH
-
Whats a decent engine size then? :headscratch:
-
you should stick with a big wheel...less likely to hurt yourself... :lol
-
I am going to go out on a limb and say..... That thing is most likely made in china and you will run into problems down the road.
-
You should get one of these instead and add a gun mount.
660cc supercharged OEM. Plus a/c, stereo and 4x4 :rock

It says 45+ mph depending on rider weight and road conditions. I'm a tooth pick so I assume there won't be a speed issue? :uhoh

you ever drive 45mph across rough terrain? take a real close look at the design of that thing...45mph would be on blacktop with the wind at your back...considering the fact that you don't have a lot of driving experience on the road let alone off road...don't go over 20mph off road...save yourself some pain and money.

I have my learners, and i drive on the high way quite often. I mean 45 like on streets is possible right? Off road I wouldn't expect to go fast off road.
But is there anyway i could improve the engine? Maybe add more power? Like an engine swap or something later?

honestly i'm failing to see how/where that go kart or a 4 wheeler would be useful other than joy riding...you said you're wanting to use it for airsoft? you got a 10 square mile battlefield or something?
-
quarter of a mile down the road next to the elementary school is i think its a 45 acre field(i forgot how many acre's but i used to fly there) that's being turned into a neighborhood in the distant future. Its to much of a hassle to have 6 guys ride bikes down there and carry their guns and ammo at the same time. At least with this i could carry one guy, and all the guns and ammo. and the others could ride their bikes

save yourself some money...get a couple of these:
and don't be so lazy...before airsoft or paintball or atv's we used to ride bicycles to a place a couple of miles away and waged war with bb guns, water grenades and army surplus gear...but we were tough army brats.

I'm not lazy! During the summer i spend almost all day light hours on my bike. I'm also in track right now, i mean c'mon. This is also for family, i have a 9 year old sister and a 4 year old brother. I think they would like riding around in it
-
It has no power F22RaptorDude . Look's cool and all but just no power ..

ok then with consideration to your siblings...don't worry about the power or the speed...make your parents feel warm and fuzzy when you're giving the little ones a ride...if you're going faster than you can pedal your bike, it's too fast...and no tim the toolman taylor monkeying with the engine.
can't believe the price difference between the 125 and the 250 on those things...geez
-
I want something fast for me tho, but i have a budget of 2K, so there isn't much i can get.
-
I just buy a used named brand atv . I have a Honda 250 ,1985 model that still runs like new . This time of year you mite find a good used bike . Just make sure it's not smoking or anything like that before you buy it .

Here call them yourself, how it was expalined to me is that when the large motorcycle companies , honda, yamaha, they have patents on there motor or frame designs ect., when the patent expires other compainies copy there work Motors, Frames, whatever else, and they manufacture them in china and sell them for a 1/4 of what the major names brands sell for and a 1/3 of the quality and reliablity, just call them and ask questions, you dont want to spend your hard earned cash on a pile of junk, example $499 for a 125cc bike on there site when a Yamaha 125yz goes for over 6 grand, just beware is all im saying, and remember these words, " you get what you pay for "

1,800 all together, I mean there is some quality in there isn't there? but one thing, says some assembly required Does that mean its going to take a few days to put together?
-
Raptor the thing is made in china, you will have a hard time finding parts for it. Also it wont last worth dirt. You are better off watching craigslist and your classifieds in the paper where you are, and buying something used that is of a name brand.

Buy a used Polaris wheeler and you'll be happy. Don't forget a helmet.

According to my school resource officer, Yeah

check your state motor vehicle laws...may i see your license, registration and insurance please?

He said as long as i have my learners on me, and I stay off the road when cars are on it i should be fine
-

some resource officer you have there, you plan on having a licensed adult with you while driving it with a learners permit, that is the law ya know, where does he get off saying its ok as long as theres no cars on the road, better ask a real officer, check with the dealer to see if its street legal, most likely its not
-
He said as long as i have my learners on me, and I stay off the road when cars are on it i should be fine
This is an opportunity for you to do something that should serve you well in life or it could lead you astray. The cool thing is it really depends on you and you get to use a little judgment.
Ask yourself:
"Does that seem right?"
I ask you. Does that seem right? Feel free to use logic, follow your instinct, listen to your intuition or trust in the force if it helps you but I'd really like to hear you make an argument for it being a good idea. As an exercise, make an argument for it being a bad idea. Objecitvely look at the facts and make a decision based on said facts, your experience and what you think is right.
Is driving your go-kart on public roads a good idea or a bad idea? Why? Why not?
To get you started on this decision I'd offer you to look into legalities as to what constitutes an automobile, farm equipment, inquire as to why "street legal" is a phrase in common usage and the eligibility and legality requirements for the aforementioned words and phrases. Good luck.
-
He said as long as i have my learners on me, and I stay off the road when cars are on it i should be fine
No.
-
Then I've been lied to! :noid
-
Then I've been lied to! :noid
once again in simple terms...check... with... your... state... department... of... motor... vehicles...
or have your parents find out for you...there are requirements to be considered "street legal" which neither that go kart or an atv meet.
-
Here in Texas you can get tages for a side by side. All the standard vehicle requirements apply. License, insurance, inspection, etc.
Now the question of safety....... they are nowhere as safe as a car on the road.

Um China does not wait for patents to expire. They just steal / make it anyway.

I'm just going with China, I'll just take extra care of it.
-
I don't want a four wheeler, they aren't safe, or practical for road use.
Learn to ride one. Wheelers, with a proper rider, are as safe as any other mode of transport.
As far as road practicality is concerned, they are no less legal to ride on the streets as a go-kart.
-
But China go kart has turning signal, brake lights, and back up lights. Speed seems to be the only problem. but There's no where i can go to find a 200-300cc engine while keeping it under 2,000

more than you want to pay but this might be your best bet!

WAIT I just compared the Jeep looking go kart to the other karts in the 150cc category, the other's have either8.5 HP or 9HP, the one i want has 10 HP so i'm getting something with more HP then others in the same class
-
raptordude...i would go into detail and tell you about a "go kart" me and a friend built when i was about 13, but...let's just say, you don't need a whole lot of horse power if what you're saying you want it for is true...20mph is fast enough to get you injured or killed.
-
I'm a very quick thinker, I kinda crave power. But i'm not pedal to the medal kind of person alot, I'm going to be very careful, plus it has a large bumper and 4 point harnesses which I will use to great extent.

well, i'd rather not go into all the detail of what we did and how but...we used a 1967-68 125cc 2 stroke motorcycle engine and transmission, on a very modified frame that looked like this (bare frame no plastic parts):
with the same wheels/tires you would find on one of these:
took several months of work and nearly $60 (about equal to $200 today) to make it run with all used/junk parts that we procurred through various means...mostly legitimate.
the s.o.b. was loud and fast...too fast...had to put it in neutral and hit the brakes to stop it...the last great ride was taken by my friend down a major thoroughfare in high gear pedal to the metal wearing a motorcycle helmet, jeans and t-sirt...i didn't see what happened but i did hear the ambulance and police...he spent a couple of weeks in the hospital and several months with casts on 1 arm and 1 leg...lots of road rash...according to what i was told, he passed some vehicles including a police car sitting in a speed trap which went after him when he passed...the ride ended shortly when he jumped over a railroad crossing, which broke something and he lost control...
there was a lot of lawn mowing and miscellaneous handyman work done to pay for a wood fence...and we spent the rest of the year contemplating how cool it would be to have actual racing go karts.

Way to much power for me, but i might want a 250cc, i'm looking at this one and will discuss it with my parents this Friday when we all sit down and explain budget and all. http://gokartsusa.com/250kdunebuggy.aspx (http://gokartsusa.com/250kdunebuggy.aspx) there's a 150cc version too
