This is probably a programming nightmare, but it would be nice if an enemy jeep would have a steamy radiator cap if it collided with a tank instead of driving through. Tank vs Tank collisions would simply stop them as if they hit a titanium AHtree. Maybe it should loose the pintle gun if struck in the right place. Granted not many vehicles would manage to come within range without being destroyed, so of course the wish automatically goes to the bottom of the list. Still, I think it would make for some more interesting jeep races :bolt:

ya know, im suprised we dont allready have this.
i mean,cmon. we can drive through a hulking tiger but get stoped dead in our tracks by a 4 foot bush? :huh

I think he means with enemy tanks, just like fighters.

I do think this is something I would like to see addressed. Can you imagine the satisfying crunch of a lighter armored or no armor vehicle underneath your tank? :) Oh, and while we are at it, can we set it up to run over troops? Seems like we should be able to do it. :aok

Same as planes on a runway: Friendly collisions off.
What I'd like to see is different classes. M3s, M16s, M8s, Keeps, Sks all as "light" and the tanks as "heavy"
Light hits Light = both stop, maybe some damage (wheel, gun, something?)
Light hits Heavy = light stops. Recvs some damage.
Heavy hits Light = heavy rolls over light and crushes it, kill awarded.
Heavy hits Heavy = both stop, minimal to no damage.
What I'd like to see is a speed code where it takes the speed into play. Light hits Heavy = light stop... but if speed of Light vehicle is fast (say more than 20mph) it crashes (*poof!*) and aproxy award is given. Also this might come into play with max speeds on the heavy tanks too. T-34s get some crazy speed up. Anything that heavy going 30mph head-on vs another of itself going 30mph the other way would be a helluva lot of potential energy turning into kinetic energy... I think there would/should be times when 2 "Heavy" class vehicles ramming each other results in tracking, turreting, engines out, or death.

Think how lag factors into this, when you detect a collision you stop like with a tree. So does other guy, except you both saw each other after the fact, so you stop inside each other. Now what happens since you are still colliding.
Think about speeds lags and such, and then you will start to see the essence of the problem. And hence why it is not the same as colliding with an object that does not move.

Only this time you dont' stop inside each other. One or both of you blow up. Leaving only 1 guy left. No problems 1 guy occupying 1 space, eh? :)
