:airplane:I THINK ITS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THEIR TO BE A FUEL DUMP IN THE GAME EXAMPLE WHEN YOUR A 100% FUEL AND YOU INCOUNTER SOME FIGHTERS YOUR NOT GONNA NEED ALL THAT FUEL PLUS HAVING ALOT OF WHEIGHT CAN CAUSE PERFORMANCE ISSUES IT MAKE THE GAME BETTER THAM WHAT IT ALREADY IS.

You do realize that most WWII aircraft were not capable of that.

And, so far as I know, none of those were fighters.

HELLO NICE TO MEET YOU TOO!

here's some advise given to me by a wise man.
option 1: up with the fuel you feel comfortable fighting with. and bring external tanks to get to the fight. before you engage drop them.
option 2: get close to a red con and have them ping you just a little so they can put holes into the fuel tank. it requires some skill for this maneuver, but you will lose fuel in a few minutes to the level you feel comfortable.

did any prop planes in WW2 have a fuel dump feature? i've been doing a little offhand digging the last 15 mins or so, and haven't come up with much. as far as i know, the f9f (please don't quote me, i'm taking a stab here) was one of the first aircraft to incorporate this, but that was a jet and doesn't answer my question....

I seem to recall somebody posting that one of the four engined WWII bombers could do it.

to option 1: be realistic and up with 100% :aok
option 2: that's just insane... i'd rather just HO the dweeb who's shooting me and see if i can win :aok

I'D LIKE A FUEL DUMP PLACED FORWARD OF A FUEL-FIRED ONBOARD HEATER AIR INTAKE. THAT WAY I CAN EMBARASS MYSELF BY DUMPING FUEL INTO MY OWN HEATER INTAKE. THE RESULTANT FIRE SHOULD TAKE ME DOWN EVEN MORE QUICKLY THAN SPOUTING SOMETHING REALLY SILLY IN FRONT OF A BUNCH OF WAITING CRITICS.
-
No to fuel dump. We already have too much game the game stuff going on. Besides, dumping a bunch of fuel isnt going to help the heavy bomber evade well enough to survive any better.

-1 not historically accurate and would be a waste of molding and coding because you could just be smart and bring appropriate amount of fuel.

you know what drop tanks are, right?

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess he normally plays console games.

Not possible in the B-24 or B-17. Sheesh, you could barely transfer fuel let alone dump it.
-
I usually up with 75% or 100% fuel. I think that relying on a light fuel load for just a hair better turn rate is a bad habit. I can't remember the last time I ran out of gas, and I do fairly well in the MA. I say, learn to fight with some gas in the tank.

To the OP:
As you progress as a cartoon pilot, you will notice that you wish you had more ord or targets than fuel.

Welcome to the forums, I look forward to many GEMS!

But molding completes the look. Most people can't stand those annoying little gaps where two flat surfaces meet.

I had decided no to go there...
but.
since YOU did...

Everybody knows you dump your fuel on the towns to kill buildings :t

I thought dumping sausage on pizza killed the pizza? :headscratch:

i almost always up with 100% with drops unless im upping on an attacked base then i take 75%

None of this (fuel dump request) is a game problem, it's all rooted in pilot behavior.
Don't take DTs unless you're already full. Don't take less fuel than you need. If you keep RTBing, next time TAKE MORE!
If you're heavy nothing FORCES you to try turn fighting. Stay fast and vertical, or leave the fight and re-enter it in a better position later.
-
Depends on what I am flying.
Spitfire Mk XIV? 100% plus drop tank.
Mosquito? 50%.

Does all caps make it sound more important, or louder?

Occam's razor would mitigate in favor of clueless somnambulist, given the relative abundance of the two categories.

i think that the 110 could do it...maybe the beaufighter? not sure-- ive got no books with me, too lazy for google as well.
-
So with everyone demanding this and that in the name of realism...in WWII, did fighters really dump half their fuel at the first sign of enemy fighters just to get lighter? :rofl
-
I thought dumping sausage on pizza killed the pizza? :headscratch:
It doesnt just kill the pizza.... it utterly completely makes the pizza into a disgusting radioactive pile of slop that starving hogs will not even eat.
-
Fuel dump only for planes that had the abiltity to do so "in flight" in WWII.
For the rest, learn to fight with what you carry.
