Ok June 11th. is the day! Museum Of Flight opens at 10:00 a.m. We will be in the cafe area between noon and 12:30 p.m. for lunch/snack/break. 2:00 p.m. is our tour. Museum closes at 5:00 p.m.

Randy's restaurant is open 24/7 and I got their "back area" for us.
I figured a 6:00 p.m. dinner.

I have a few places close for a block of rooms if needed but, I need to know who would be planning to stay more then the day.

I am running some errands now but, when I get home I will generate a list of people going.

Please post or repost if your going and game ID if different then your BBS ID. If you know you cannot be there for 10:00 a.m. let me know what time you can be there by because I do have to pay for any late comers when we check in at 10:00 a.m. to get the group rate and tour for the group.

Anyone up for it on Sunday we are making a trip to Pike's Market.

I would love to be there but with the price of gas wont be able to.  How about McMinnville next year and the Spruce Goose at Evergreen Aviation ?  That would even be closer for some of the people in California.

If anyone's near Bend (central Oregon, KBDN), I can prolly haul them up from the airport here.  I'll gas up the Aztec and we can fly up for the shenanigans...

If anyone needs me to stop on the way up for a ride, let me know!

but, for now let's get the info. above filled in and some more to join in!

We moved here last year about a week before or so that Seafair went on and it was one of the better ones I have seen. Besides it is never about where and what your doing with the Aces meets it is about who your doing it with!

Oh and by the way what you meant to say is your on the wrong side of the country.  :t Nothing a plane trip or a few day drive can't fix ya' know!  :aok

Give that boy of yours a "poke" for me!  :lol

Okay...

Flight planned to Boeing field; it'll take 1 hr 25 min from KBDN, Bend, Oregon.  I have room for up to 5 others in the Aztec.  We will meet at the Bend airport at 0700 and be wheels-up no later than 0720.  I'm instrument current, as is the aircraft, so there should be no issues with the weather (the Aztec is also FIKI, flight into known icing, equipped).

Let me know who wants a ride, and your weight as well as the weight of the luggage you'll be taking.  I'll post a diagram of the airport and the hangar we'll meet at.  I wouldn't mind staying over an evening for the Pike's market trip, but we can decide that on the fly.  Participation in fuel cost is welcome, but not required  :airplane:

If anyone nearby needs a room for the evening prior to departure, I have 20 acres just east of the airport in Bend; couple of spare bedrooms and a pair of couches to crash on  :aok

Also, for folks who are staying more than the one day, there is the Flying Heritage Collection of WWII aircraft about 1 hour north of the Museum of Flight.  It's Paul Allen's collection of WWII aircraft, most of which are flown periodically.  Details of that collection are here:

http://www.flyingheritage.com/TemplateHome.aspx?contentId=1

The Flying Heritage Collection is at Paine Field, which is also the home of the Me 262 rebuilds.

Warspawn, for you, from Boeing Field to Paine Field would be a short little hop. :)

Around us at the get-together, Dawn's call sign probably should be "Yes, Dear", so that we don't have to witness her giving you a thrashing.  ;)

You can confirm me and I will be getting a hotel room so I can drink. But I won't be hanging at Randy's to do that. i will go somewhere else after dinner where they serve the hardstuff. I cant drink anything carbonated so I have to stick with vodka and orange (screwdrivers).

Warspawn, mtpockts is interested in going, I belive he PM'd you his phone number.

There is a bar in Tukwilla I believe that has a sign out front that says Liquer in the front, poker in the rear. I find
 that quite amusing.

There is a bar in Tukwilla I believe that has a sign out front that says Liquer in the front, poker in the rear. I find
 that quite amusing.

You are confirmed Ironic. Randy's stops serving alcohol at 10 along with a three drink per person max. It is primarily for dinner and yackin'. No one has needed a hotel yet however, if anyone does need a hotel I will be getting a block of rooms near the museum/restaurant/airport and there will be a lounge their so no one drinks and drives. I am not too concerned on this issue since drinking socially is ok and covered in the agenda. Anything more can be at the hotel or you gentlemen can arrange your own "after" party.

Pike's Market is an early trip so I am hoping those who attend the museum plan to hit Pike's the next day and between the market and bringing families I am leaning towards more people having "family" fun and a good time socially then "party" fun and getting hammered.

hmmm nobody said anything about getting hammered. I just cant drink beer and I don't like wine.

I just cant drink beer and I don't like wine.

Understood. Are you able to go and not drink?

If there is the need for a block of rooms as I said the hotel will have a lounge that way no one is drinking and driving.
If not then there won't be any "hardstuff" available since most will be driving and/or flying.
Stay tuned to where the hotel will be if needed and if so, you can plan your after party there.

For now however, let's stick with the guest list. In all the six years I have put on meets for me the focus is MEETING the players and their families not where or what alcohol will be available.

Ok back to original issue ...

***UPDATED ***

PLEASE CONFIRM IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO

Ok June 11th. is the day!

Museum Of Flight opens at 10:00a.m.

We will be in the cafe area between noon and 12:30 p.m. for lunch/snack/break.

2:00p.m. is our tour. Museum closes at 5:00 p.m.

Randy's restaurant is open 24/7 and I got their "back area" for us.
I figured a 6:00p.m. dinner. They serve bottled beer and wine until 10:00p.m.

I have a few places close for a block of rooms if needed but, I need to know who would be planning to stay more then the day.

Please post or re-post if not on the list or to fill in the info. I don't have.

If you know you cannot be there for 10:00 a.m. let me know what time you can be there by because I do have to pay for any late comers when we check in at 10:00a.m. to get the group rate and tour for the group.

Anyone up for it on Sunday we are making a trip to Pike's Market.

Hmmm, likely can't but I'll see how the price of gas goes before the end of this month.

How is it looking for ya' B?

I might be around. Would be fun.

Know if your gonna be around yet?

Count me in! Kingston,WA here...been waiting for one of these.

Just checking are you still in?

Hmm ..little drive but have some family I can go see also. Depends If weather nice enough to paint the house.    If I go I would be there before 10.

                                                                                   <S> BushLT

BLT painting or visiting? Bring the family too! If you stay and can make Pike's too bring them there also!

myself & pmurf will prolly be there.

You and pmurf going from prolly to a yep?

IM very interested in attend this, I'm in san diegoso its a drive but sounds worth it. Plus it will give me a chance to use my alienwRe out on the road. Do my best to update when I have something concrete.

Condor

Anything concrete yet on the possible drive?

Ah CRAP!!!  I just found out about this West Coast Con., and the timing really sucks for me!!!  I'm in Nampa, Idaho, and would love to make it over for this!!!  I'm gonna try, but right now it doesn't look like it will happen!!!  Would be nice to meet you all and put faces to callsigns!!!!!  I'll try tho....  :rock

Phil Arledge

How is that hand of yours doing? Hope healing well and no more surgery! There is always next year but, if anything changes let me know.

Me and my brother Jeff should be there comin up from Vancouver WA, for Saturday at least.

You and your bro still making it? Decide on staying a night for Pike's Sunday?

I will be there by 10:00am.
I don't need a room. I live near Tacoma.
In game, I'm Wedge.

Just confirming W ...

March would be better for me

Is June 11th. gonna work for ya'?

Really AWESOME offer War ...

Let me know if you have any takers and what I can do to get you all where you need to go once here.

Getting the block of rooms and hotel information this week.

That is an ok place but, the place across the street from the hotel I booked (Dave's Diner And Brew) is better IMHO and walking distance from the hotel so no one is driving and drinking.

I am adding the discounted rate for Friday to the booking so if you need it it's there and if not then we can cancel in enough time for no charge.

After the museum is Randy's FYI so if Ironic is driving just to be clear it would be museum, Randy's then hotel and Pike's is on Sunday not Saturday. Let's not get too many people confused.

As of right now I got it handled so if we need extra drivers I will let you know Ironic.

no one is driving and drinking.

It will be especially idiotic for someone to drive drunk in the area, since we're gonna be near the airport and about 5000 taxi cabs.

Since I'm gonna be drinking, I plan on parking at the hotel and cabbing it, which is our typical method.

Yes, it would be and doing this for six years it is amazing how many you will come across that do so I just want you to have the precise info. on the area and where to get the best for less.

Sounds good kvou!

Correction to above -- my wife is Traci.  Dawn is wife of another attendee, I think.  Traci and kids likely won't be there, but Popsman, Tudza, and I will be there starting at about 4 pm.  (We will head on over right after the frame of Rangoon)

Sorry everyone for the delayed update, thought I had already mentioned it in this thread earlier last month.

Thanks for the PM SGY, but I won't be able to attend this year, my car blew its head gasket a couple weeks ago trying to get to another airshow down here so my financial priorities/obligations are a bit tied for the moment.  Definitely next time, I'll be saving up and looking forward to making it up there and to see some great collections with you all someday soon.

SGY (Michelle),

Just caught wind of this ... (There's ALWAYS 10% that don't get the word ya know!).

I plan to attend along with Wife -- may be bringing 2 adult kids...checking with them today.

My info is:  Game Name: Rodent57      SQUAD: (Current unaffiliated in MAs)    Realworld Alias: "Ziggy"

Have retried and moved back home to the Pacific Northwest, so we will not be in need of a room.

Thanks for doing the coordinating, looking forward to meeting folks.

It saddens me to say that it came down to the wire and I will be unable to attend the get together. My brigade is involved in some training and two of my NCO's have to come in this morning so it would not be right for me to go and have fun knowing that they are working. I do apologize for the last minute notice, I was so looking forward to it. <S> TC

I sent The Fugitive a request by PM before the get together asking if he would do a cartoon for our meet. Without much time because I thought of it sort of late he whipped one up and it is awesome! You guys need to click on his profile and check out the link in his signature to check out his other cartoons. I think they are a great addition to our community! Love them all and a big  :salute and thank you to Fugi! I'll be looking for you next year this would be a cool tradition.  :t

Half of our group in one tour. Our full group was split up (which disappointed me) but, next time I know better. This picture was taken right after kvuo and Jeff got scolded from the tour guide LOL ... was funny!

As always great to put game ID's with faces!! Thanks to all who made it out.

***Special note to AHLong ... pm me your address so I can get you one of the cartoons!! I was sorry you and your wife had to leave so early but, hope all is well with your daughter who was at the time just about to have a baby. I am assuming the granbaby is here already and healthy along with Mom recovering nicely.  :pray Next year hopefully you all can make it again and bring them along!

Last but, never least Thank you very much HTC for the gear I was able to pass out and posting the info. in the MOTD of the arenas which without I would of missed a few of these guys! HiTech, Pyro, Skuzzy and the HTC crew have supporting my get togethers since 2006 and now the midwest continues (See SHawk for details for Dayton, Ohio in July) and the west coast was a success and will also continue next year during the Seafair event weekend of the air show
(dates to be announced later in the year) and Betty may be pulling a group together in Michigan next year who after year one was my partner in crime in all the get togethers prior to this year and was missed dearly this year!

Last year was over 100 sticks and their families and each year it got bigger and more help from everyone was needed for it to be a success so to all those not mentioned THANK YOU for all you did and will continue to do!

Thanksfor the pics Michelle. It was great to meet everyone. I hope all the C-hogs hubby lost to me didnt cause his hair loss.. Even my kids admitted they had fun. Although when went to Randys, my oldest asked who all these people are. Dawn said your dad flys with some of them or against them. I thought Dawn remembered the stroller for Aiden but she forgot. I was hoping it was going to be the whole group for the tour. I think our guide flew some of the displays. Just give Dawn a shout . <S> Ed

OK!!
Enough screwing around!
Here is the link to my photos from the Meet.
I can't figure out how to display them on THIS page.....so they are on my website. Just click the link. Once you get there, feel free to right click and save any of the photos you want! Sorry if they are a little big, I did resize them, but for some reason they are still displaying fairly large.

If someone can steer me towards the liturature with the instructions to insert photos IN the post I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

If someone can steer me towards the liturature with the instructions to insert photos IN the post I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I have a handful of players/friends who ask me to upload their pics all the time because it is such a royal pain in the butt to do!
Not so much hard but, time consuming so I will do a visual step by step with details for them and post a copy here too.

Give me a week or so but, it will be worth it.

For now if you make sure your pics are in .jpeg format and you register at webshots.com that would help get started.
I have had my webshots account since 1991 and I love it.
You can format your pics to a .jpeg in Ultimate Paint which is also free and a great program.
If you get Ultimate Paint and Webshots I can walk you through it backwards I know it that well.

That should be good to start before I get the tutorial up ... if you have any questions doing that feel free to PM me.

Check back here for details after the above ...
