Sorry there is no cartoon this week as I was out of town. Had a great time with some old friends at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museums "WWII Weekend"
Had a couple of ponies, Sky Boss, and a Spit doing some great flying over head as well as seeing "FIFI" the worlds ONLY flying B-29 roll out and circle the field a few times. As well as a couple of B-25s. Great show!

Very nice :aok I saw FiFi at her hangar this past winter while they were doing maitainence on her. It's pretty cool to be able to say " I've been in a B-29." :D

I didn't take that many. I have a couple of FIFI starting up, but to me a plane isn't in her element unless she's in the air. Well my camera sucks at taking those air shots :neener:

Dang Fugi
Wish I knew ya was going to be out there, I made it up to the show yesterday for a few hours before back to Work, it was the First time I made it the show and I only live an hour from it. I took my 5 yr old out with me and he had a blast he was kinda upset that there not as many tanks as he was hoping but he enjoyed the airplanes and 25's he saw and the walk inside of the c46. Also had the opportunity to meet Mbailey and Drano briefly before I had to leave wish I could stayed longer but was able to get shots of FIFI also along with her taxing and the 17 coming in.
Will be back there next year

Did you take any flights ? Sorry I missed it this year, first time i missed it since 2006.

What does FIFI stands for?? In the french speaking part of the world, or at least in Quebec, it's not really a nicety...
-
Hearing that B-29 roll down the runway was the best thing I heard there (besides the merlin engines and the Spitfire of course :D)

Might have a few of her in element then. Haven't gotten my film developed but I managed a few in-flight of the -29. :)
Not gonna be a fun developing run, 120 pictures is gonna run close to $60.
-
Fugi, I am very upset. :huh
I don't pay $15 a month for you to be skipping out on delivering me weekly cartoons!
Get back to work! :furious
Oh, and JK :neener:

I have a decent digital camera, but the zoom is only average. While I think the pilots did a great job getting as low and tight over the crowds as they could I still wouldn't have gotten zoomed in enough. I need one of those big lens to strap on the front of the camera :devil

Ya both the pony and the spit sounded great screaming through the sky. I was really disappointed with the "F4u SkyBoss. He really babied that thing around. The spit and pony drivers where having fun, the hog driver was just going through the motions.

This was my 4th trip down. 5 hour ride for me, and it's the same weekend as the graduations around here. So my trips are planned around when a son, niece, or nephew is graduating HS or College! :P If you were there Saturday taking pictures I might have been standing right next to you! My pictures look pretty much the same.

Wow, there rest of us are talking about a great air show we attended, you are working on a post count. Thanks for stopping by and sharing.

such a beautiful bird. it really is a shame she's the only one left flying in the world.
if something goes wrong, and she was to crash, it would be a catastrophe for the ww2 flying community.
i still think they should raise the b29 from lake mead and restore it. from the reports made on it, they say its in remarkable condition and could be restored to flying condition.
but the park wants to keep down there  such a waste of a fine aircraft.
