pretty simple wish here.
ships are long-overdue for a re-model. i'm pretty sure they are still at AH1 standards.
i think now that we have new fields and town objects, ships should come next
:salute

weren't they remodeled a couple of years ago?

Yes.

from what i've observed they still have 2D models. for instance, on destroyers/cruisers, the anchor is "painted" on the side, with no texture.

this is what you call a texture. You want it to be to be modeled in 3D. I'm not sure it is a good use of CPU power to render a detailed Anchor in a heavy CV battle.
The CV's have been redone a short while ago, I definitely +1 your request but it will go nowhere.

Maybe you should see what they looked like before they were updated, they look beautiful in comparison.

I would agree with this. The ships look very nice now, in comparison that is.

Ok, I must not have been around when they were updated. It was just a simple, harmless observation. Somewhere down the line tho (1-2 years maybe) i think there should be variety in the cv models. I.e. japanese carriers, British etc...
Also, why is the current cv model scaled down from it's real-life counterpart? Could that be an acceptable change?

How do you figure it is? :)

i've always thought the deck is narrower in AH

Look at all those pre-broken P38s! No doubt on the way to supply the SAPP guys...

How about light carriers and escort carriers, too?
+1 :aok

honestly i dont think they need remoded though detail is one thing but are you ever going to really appreciate it chances are one of the ppl engaged in the fight will be dead before they even get a chance to take note of it and if ur staring at the anchor on another ship while getting shot at then its a distraction and in which case not recomended.. i just dont see it being of use(unless u could lower the anchor and stop the ship) but carrier types i agree with so +1 on that
i think its good enough they actaully used real ID tags on the ships however... the aircraft lift needs to be put UP i cannot see them launching planes while bringing a plane up....(or landing) and the pittsburgh could use its real paintjob...
CA(heavy cruiser) is CA72(baltimore class heavy cruiser pittsburgh)
CV(carrier vessel) is CV15(essex class carrier randolph)
DD(destroyer) not real but its the USS waffle(read the flag)
(just some random facts)

Just to put it out there... they said that there were batteries with 4x 8 inch guns called "Chicago Pianos" and had some .50s to shoot at planes that are even closer to the carriers without going down.
Raise the elevator.

The elevator was never raised... maybe we could try lobbing bombs under the deck. How about we put the number of the CV on the side where they put the number of the CV group? (sorry about the wording) Like, C187 would have the CV have a 187 painted instead of the 15.

"Chicago Pianos" were quad 1" AAA which were prone to jamming and replaced by 40mm's.
.50's were only on prewar Destroyers, as were the above quad 1"s, and also quickly replaced due to being ineffective with 20mm's.
I can only think of French or British BB's, one or two maybe, with Quad mounted turret guns.

i cant believe this but i think i see CATAPULTS on the carier decks. :huh
thos are for FIGHTER JETS!!!!!!!! -_-
WTF!?!?!?!?!?

Could someone post picture(s) of the Ships BEFORE they were updated?

Essex class carriers had catapults. And they mounted 50 cals on the superstructure. And could steam backwards to land aircraft from the front. http://microworks.net/pacific/ships/carriers/essex.htm
