Thats the worlds only flying B-29

I know that they are restoring a B-29 at the Strategic Air Command Museum. Go there whenever I go to Omaha for family. Me and my bro once broke the simulator there lol.

2nd picture angle makes it look like it's being towed on small trailer, lol
 Oz

jeez. how much do you think she is worth?
its a real shame she's the only one flying. i wish they'd raise the Recon B29 out of lake mead nevada. a group showed great interest in restoring it but the park wants to keep it down there as a tourist attraction until it rusts away.
what a waste of a fine airplane :(

Went and saw her in Addison last winter. Pretty surreal experience. There is another thats being restored to fly, I'll go look for a link.

She has been in Addison (Dallas) for a few months now. Ran the Airshow tour for a little while. When she is in the air you definitely know it!
-
^^^ That sounded callused, not my intention. It is most definitely a great treat! She is beautiful!

FiFi is going to be at the EAA this year.
The Enola Gay is in virginia, I saw it but I forget which meuseum its in.
Bockscar is in the meuseum of the airforce in Ohio.
And there is one in San Antonio in Lackland at the parade grounds.

There is also a static b29 at the PIMA air museum in Arizona. She has been beautifly restored, just not to flying condition. I was talking to one of the volunteers at the addison museum where FiFi is based and he commented that they just barely break even most of the time when they fly her for rides. He also said that unless you pay the big bucks to ride in the nose, it can be a somewhat boring ride; but hell, where else are you going to get a chance to ride in a B29?

There's another B-29 undergoing restoration to flight status in Kansas... "Doc" but they are short of funding to complete it. They have a website, but it hasn't been updated since 2010.
http://www.b-29doc.com/
Kermit Weeks also has one thats currently disassembled, but was flying in the 80's. (Fertile Myrtle)
Besides FiFi, that's it for possible flyers. There are actually several airframes scattered throughout the country, in Museums and on Air Bases, from pristine condition to severly corroded.
As mentioned above, The Enola Gay is in the National Air and Space Mueseum, displayed in the Udvar-Hazy center. I would love to go to see it one day, just haven't made it that far East yet. (The same museum also has the B-26 "Flak Bait", although only the nose is diplayed, the rest is in storage)
I saw Bockscar in Dayton three years ago, she's immaculate.
Anyways- the complete list of survivors is here, in the registry: http://www.warbirdregistry.org/b29registry/b29registry.html
Cheers!

I'll ride anywhere in her :aok I talked to those guys for a awhile too. It's beyond me that these WW2 aircraft do not get more funding. I would think that things as rare as FiFi should have some sort of "historical landmark" type status.

Funding? Donate. Taxes? What do you think is paying for the Smithsonian or the Air Force Museum?

Somewhat of a hijack but my Uncle Joe's B-25J that he flew in for 70 missions is there. It is the most completely restored 25 and it is the origanal.
this is a skin for it I found on some website: http://www.warwingsart.com/57thWing/310thBG/380thBS/index.htm goto "How Boot That?!"
