Post em, its always fun to share stories.
Mine was when I got bounced in a 109K4 by an N1K2, a P-47 and a Ki-84. I had a slight E advantage, and quickly got the P-47. Fighting the Niki with rolling scissors, I was able to get angles on him just as the Ki-84 gets on my six and forces to be break-off. I dive for the deck, hoping to force a compression, but he keeps with me all the way, even though he had begun to compress at the bottom and was slow pulling up. This gave me a chance for a nice deflection shot on the niki, which resulted in a 1v1, the Ki-84 still dogedly clinging to my 6. Out of energy after pulling hard for the snapshot, I initate rolling scissors at low altitude. The Ki-84 can't seem to quite keep up with me in the verticle, but gains some advantage in the rolling. After about 10 minutes of fighting, we both break off in mutual consent.
<S> unknown Ki-84 pilot, you're one hell of a fight sir.

Any time I get in a fight with Yenny or Debrody. Both of them like to fly their 109 the same way I do, so it's always interesting to see how the fight plays out.
Most recently though I took a 109 up against a very fun, small fight. After killing all the enemy in the area a few of us Rooks continued on to the enemies airfield. We were quickly outnumbered and I became isolated fighting against a spitfire. To my surprise, the fight stayed a 1v1 between the two of us for a good 3 minutes with many red aircraft flying around me. We both got hits on each others, but I was finally done in by Midway who had decided to jump into the fight. I got a pm from the spit pilot I fought who said apologized for Midway ruining our fun. He apparently kept calling everyone off me trying to keep it 1v1. I can't remember who that spit pilot was, but a BIG <S> to him for calling the 1v1 fight. :salute

Latrobe, do you remember that 262 vs Dora one? Definiately goes into my top 10. <S>!

the first time I managed to win a rolling scissors fight (thanks to tips I read in the Help & Training Forum) :rock
I was so proud and the film looks so beautiful w/ trails on
-
that's a very hard question, I have had so many fights that were great or memorable
I guess the best was when I killed a vet twice in a row, in the same sortie, while being out numbered :rofl....when two years or so prior he killed me like 5 times in a row....maybe 6 :o
or the time I killed two of the best sticks in game in a 2vs1 :t

About three years ago I ran into Amsoil. He was in a Pony D, me, a K4. I don't know if Ams remembers, but it was a started at 15k ended up as a stallfight on the deck kind of fight. Wish I had filmed it. <S> :salute

Every time I kill Midway is the best fight ever. It just gets better and better and better.
:salute Midway

To many to count, but the 1v1 with mickyd his, spit5 on my 109f, and his spit8 on my g2 awesome 7 minute films of pure fight

With a Guy named "GameID". Was a p38J vs P38J.
Caught him offguard, shot him down while he was in autopilot. He reupped with a vengence.
The thing that made the fight so intense was the fact that we were fighting over a mountain. and whenever i got on six 6 he'd constantly start ether a turn fight on the side of the mountain, or go over the mountain to shake me off his six.
The fight escalated to us trying to outturn eachother on the side of this mountain, more dodging trees and houses than eachother's fire.
kicked rudder Hard right, got a shot on his wing, it came off and he went slamming into a barn.
one of the funnest fights i had in awhile. Still got it on film.
:salute

I would be playing at like 1am and the ex would come in and throw a pillow and blanket at me. Good fights her and I had over this game.

This was a few years back, I forget the pilots involved. I had upped a 110 looking for buffs to rocket when a couple of P51D's stumbled upon me all alone. I was still on an easy climbout at about 14k, they were running cap 18-20k. Upon seeing my little lost 110, they winged over and went into attack mode. I was able to avoid the first pass, however the ponies quickly lost cohesion and their pair fell apart. I used a couple of shallow dives and turns away to extend and gain speed, and also create seperation between the two ponies. After a few more passes, this ended up with them being completely out of Synch on their attacks and finally a snap shot with 30MM's to take out one of the adversaries. The second one pressed his attack and I again forced the miss. The Pony began to pull back over the top and come down the same line, thinking my 6 was being offered up, but I was in the middle of a bank and building E. I quickly nosed the plane around and came up underneath the second pony on the dive. He was going too fast to respond. I then gave him some 30mm's to play with. The fight lasted about 10 minutes, and was absolutely brutal. Patience and a lot of luck helped me win out in the end...

I spilled sweet and sour soup on my keyboard while fighting a pony in my spit 8. I was able to clean and dry my keyboard and be back online in less than 2 hours.

Have not had it yet...

The one where I pwned the missus and got the full CH setup (Fighterstick, Throttle, Pedals) and TrackIR. :D
Only surpassed by another sortie where I got a new home-built and 24" widescreen.

Two...
Perdweeb in his 190D and me in a 51D. Few minutes of stall, etc then I ran out of gas and he kills me. I had my chance but missed an earlier kill shot. Very even fight till then, which speaks of his skill in a Dora. The 51D outturns all Doras but his.
Second, about a year ago I was in a Spit16 at 15K, came across 4 51D's. I had about 2k on them. 4 v 1, when it was over only 2a Ponys made it home, as did I. I was happy.
A third was a squadie Corpse and I get bounced. 4 v 2. Starts at 20k, ends on the deck. When its over Corpse has 2 kills with the other 2 running home. I had both assists but an awesome 4 v 2.

In Yak against wmaker in 109. CT and map was Finrus. Year 2003 (or -04/05).
It was the first time I could put up a decent 1 vs 1 fight against wmaker. Lost the fight but who cares.

I am still working on a strategy for this attack, I have not as of yet found the right angles to initiate this attack, my SA lacks clear insight and humbly request battle field tactics used by the fore mentioned warrior.

probably any fights against debrody in 109's :D
when it looked like i had the upper hand hed just zing a magic 20mm into me from nowhere :furious

There have been many but here's one I posted several years ago along with responses from my combatant.
Favorite of my career? I honestly can't remember them all but I had a memorable fight about a month ago.
I got a clean merge in my Spit 16 with a 109 (don't remember which model). We turned and played for angles for a while at 10-15K. I was gaining ground on him. He was pretty good in that 109 but I knew I could beat him. Just keep playing the angles and he'll be mine I thought.
Suddenly he broke and I chased him into a defensive spiral (a rolling scissors going straight down). As we danced at full speed headed to the deck I was near blackout. Just the slightest "window" of visibility in the center of my screen. I've got to keep him in sight I thought but knew that pushing any harder would cause an extended blackout sending me plummeting to earth in what would have probably been the fastest straightest lawn dart ever. Worse yet I knew he was faster than me in a dive and now my sure kill might be slipping away from me. My airframe started to shudder adding to my anxiety but I hadn't totally lost sight yet.
Just then he made another sudden move. He broke into a slight climb about 2K over the deck. By now my heart was racing and I was thinking just a quarter turn more and I can follow but I can't push it any harder or this thing's gonna break apart. Finally. I broke, almost in total blackout, my plane barely willing to respond to controls thinking God, I hope I haven't lost him.
As I leveled and regained sight I was 600 on his six. I opened fire and hit taking him down instantly.
Once in the defensive spiral that whole chase probably lasted about 10-15 seconds but it felt like a lifetime. I don't remember who it was but that was one fun fight.
I am pretty sure that was me BaldEagl. I was in a109 K4. It was a good fight. I could not get you locked in for the kill. You got position on me and all I could do was go defensive and hope you would make a mistake. I was going nuts. I remember saluteing you on 200 after the engagement. Your a good Stick:aok
Thanks. It probably was you because I think it was a K4. That fight sticks out in my mind for several reasons beyond your obvious ability.
1. Not many pilots actually use the defensive spiral.
2. When one does the attacker usually decides to hold alt and not to follow.
3. If 1 and 2 are met, the defender usually chops throttle hoping for the overshoot.
The fun part was that we did it at full speed. What an adrenaline rush. <S>.
BTW, were you nearing blackout like I was? It seemed you had a lot better control but it might have just been the difference in planes.
Yes! In that ride I am always pushing the plane to the limit. I remember that fight because we were constantly trying to get position on each other and I finally burned up all my e riding the flaps trying to stay inside the spiral. It was a great fight! <S>:rofl

I could have been good at this game, to not have run, vultch, HO, cherry pick, ram, stick-stir, etc.
-
agreed on flying against the vets.
a fw nights ago I had a 1v1 with an F4U (and there are some very scary F4Us out there) in a K4, he/she started with an alt advantage 2K and a fair bit of E, worked up to co e around 12k and then down from there to the deck in a series of 7 high e merges with him taking shots here and there and finally after a sharp scissor I got him with 3 rounds of 30mm. I can never get over watching planes that have been cut in two trying to fly. . .
-
I have to give a shout out to Buldog2! We went round and round about 3 years ago. I was in a G14 and he in his spit16. We were on the deck low and slow for about 10 minutes. We rolled in scissors and missed shots repeatedly! Great fun and my best AH fight ever in the MA. Other than that I will have to say JunkyII in the DA was my best fight.

About a year and half ago. I was flying my usual P-47D-25 killing GVs left and right. After completing my bomb run, I got jumped by a Yak-9, forgot who was flying it. He kept picking me, but i manage to avoid getting hit. After about the eight times, he end up loosing his "E" and E nailed him right in the engined. Let him fly home, but another Yak-9 showed up. Same thing, but a little different ending-me going into the ground.
Another time, in the P-47D-25. Got done taking down FH. On the way out, spotted a knight buddy in trouble so I helped him out. Took out the con but then a La-9 jumped me. Not sure how I manage this but performed a low yo-yo. He could not hold on to the stall and end in-front of me. Few short burst ended his flight. Then, a 190D-9 jumped me a few seconds later. Once again, low yo-yo to a scissors. He too could not hold on to a low speed and right in front of me.

vOid from 1st Guns, he was flying a 109F, doesn't matter what I flew he out flew it, I know for a fact nobody else out flew him either.
I've flown against Bruv, shawk, grizz although every one is a good pilot - I never seen anyone master every aircraft with perfect precision in any situation as vOid.
From personal Experience he was in a 109F and I was in a Spit16 - we went round and round after the merge, neither Ho'ing but attempted to gain the advantage, a friendly came in with a Typhoon and it was now 1vs2.
void would stay Vertical as would I, neither would Ho unless we had an advantage over the other. Still nobody would Ho, a friendly Typhoon joined the fight and made the normal *400 mph Ho Passes* and it didn't work, we would go round and round even more while he was dodging Ho passes.
I ran out of Fuel, same for vOid, the tiffy came down and picked him while he was dry - he was so frustrated he logged, but I finally asked him how he beat me - he flat out said "I cheet".
Most knits know i say this to the good knit pilots, but in reality - he beat my butt so bad I know for a fact Bruv or Grizz couldn't come close to what vOid did, last I heard he was getting married to a Chef in Berlin and thats the last I seen him.

This is a pretty common conclusion after having to chase a fighter who dives 27,000 feet down for help instead of trying to maneuver.
That green icon is a ground vehicle.

Oh man. This is tough.
Either against Tongs in a Ki 61 whilst I in G-14. Fighting to evade guns and canyon walls for 6 mins or my G-6 vs Sukov's P-51D in a snapshot.
I'd have to say these two come to mind when I think of best fight. I think the Tongs fight ended with one of us bein picked. Sukov won the other.

Best fight I ever had was against Freez years ago in K4's. 15 mins of absolute hand cramping, toe curling, head leaning action. We were stuck in the rolling scissors for at least 10 mins straight.
Best fight I ever watched was Kappa vs Murdr in 38s. I believe it was for the ToC win.

Any fight that I can get into and where it stays 1vs1 and without any green or red guys jumping in, is a good fight imo :salute

i usually end up losing any 1v1, but they are all fun IMO. Ive had fun fights with Debrody, TONGS, Zoney, Rogent, Midway, Hymi ( 10 out of 10 he smokes me)

My best fight was when i was returning to the a carrier after taking out the dar at a rook base and a P-51 jumped me. I was in an f6f. We started trying to out turn each other rolling, climbing, stalling and diving. the fight lasted about ten minutes doing every thing we could but eventually we both gave up an i returned to base

A few years back, I had a great turnfight with Wags...he in a B-17 and me in a B-24....he got me fair and square after about 4 minutes of gyrations, trying not to tear the wings off the planes. :aok

Except for once in LA's Bruv has owned me no matter what I was flying, or what he was flying. Best consistant fights I've gotten have been against SF in LA's.

A few years ago, there was a Bf 109K-4 in Blue that was killing too many of my countrymen. I decided that it was up to me to save the war! I was still somewhat new to 38s and the skills needed to win a 1v1, but it was only a piddly K4 after all. We entered into a short and intense fight. I died. He made it look a little too effortless. So to redeem the honor of the P-38, I proceeded to hunt down the red tulip 109. Whether the reason was, his skill or me being rammed twice by Spit16s, I never managed to get him.
It was a thorn in my side. Day and night I fantasized about killing the red tulip 109. I could sense his giggles as he thought about the feeble attempts of that desperate 38 to kill him. He haunted me for days. Then the opportunity presented itself.
I was in the AvA waiting for one of Larry's mission to begin. Over 200 came the pilot of the 109. I grinned to myself, "He's mine". I checked the rooster and saw he was on the opposing side. As I closed the clipboard, as if by fate, the red tulip 109 loomed into view. I could feel it, it was him. We were co-E at 3k, all alone, and the fight began.
We both opened up with a chandelle and entered a rolling scissor. We stayed in the scissor for several minutes till I started gaining the advantage. He broke into a hard turn on the deck. I foolishly attempted to follow but was to fast and overshot. I kept the turn going hoping my superior speed would allow me maintain a higher turn rate. I briefly outturned him, but only enough salvage myself from the overshot. We were below the treetops as we wrestled with our flaps and fought our bucking and buffeting planes. We dodged barns and scared off the now extinct sheep.
I knew it was time to use one of the many superior abilities of the 38 to pull out the win. I started to make climbing right turns to build up energy and avoid a lufberry. The torque-handicapped 109 couldn't build the E as quickly as I and I soon regained the advantage. I managed to work myself into position to make small BnZ style slashing attacks.
Finally I was able to begin taking snapshots at my despised enemy. I tickled him a few times with my 50 cals, but nothing major. Eventually I shot off an aileron as I slowly continued to improve my position. I watched his desperate squirms for life as I pulled up into what would be my final attack. He had no options left. I began laughing out loud as I realized I had him dead to rights. AHA I was about to be delivered from the nightmares!
BOOM! Whaaa? My tail's gone?? Noooo I had him! Somehow he managed to hang it on the prop and land a tater... The red tulip 109 lived to fight another day.
From that point on it became my duty to purge the skies of all 109s, to cleanse the air of their pilots, and assert the clear dominance of the P-38. I like to think I have seared the image of the fork tailed devil into more than a few 109 pilots over the years. May that image haunt them the same way Tec haunted me that week in his red tulip K4!

sadly(for my kill count) he got to it first :(

The best fight I ever had was a guy called l0id, he was in a plane and I also was in a plane we went for the merge and none of us would HO, as we turned into each other again I was thinking 'Is this guy going to HO?' I could sense he was thinking the same 'Is this guy going to HO?'
We merge again and no one HOs! I knew then that what he had been thinking was wrong about the HOing bit and also I was wrong about him HOing me, the thing to remember here is that we had'nt HOed up to this point....
Boy was I in for a surprise...we turned nose to nose merging again here it comes hes gonna HO hes gonna HO but no he doesn't HO and neither do I.
This fight was in the old H2H arenas so we have unlimited fuel and ammo the minutes tick by minutes turn to hours hours to days at one point (I think it was day 3 of the fight) these friendlies in 262 come in and pick the fight they kill each other via kilshooter I think to myself 'thats funny, we have been fighting for 3 days with no HOs and they are actually HOing each other'
On the 7th day his plane went limp spiraling down to the ground I had won, the bad news is that he really did die in real life from exhaustion starvation and rickets. The most impressive thing is
1. No HOs in 7 days of fighting
2. The guy really died

I've had some fun ones with Tec myself. Most of which would resut in myself being towered.

1. No HOs in 7 days of fighting
2. The guy really died
That's quite a story.
