Title: The best reason to hunt elk!!

This is just part of a hind quarter cut into steaks and stew meat/burger:

It was just a spike elk, but still plenty of good meat.

If they ever come up with a recipe for antlers then ill worry about the size of them  :D

Venison is great , But it doesn't compare to Elk . Much richer flavor in my opinion . If I had a year round supply I would never eat beef again .

Thats the nice thing about getting an elk. this single animal will keep myself and the wife in red meat for a couple of years!

That is just awesome.    I have never had an Elk steak, but I can imagine it being quite tasty.    The wife and I go in with her parents on a farm raised cow every year and that meat is so much better than "Store bought".    One of these days I will head out West and try to hunt Elk.    Elk tags are extremely difficult to get in Michigan.

Here in PA also, From what i understand theres about 25 tags available and 2 "Governors" Tags........
