Well tonight was actually a first for me. I was in on a town in a Dhog, I saw a spit in the air, I turned in and then offset to let the guy get set. I really though that I since I offset I would not get HOed. How wrong I was. I made a comment on 200 about nice Ho even though I offset, the next thing I get is a PM about how he needed the kill and how I liked the 20mm in the face, and how he would have schooled me anyway old timer. Personally I have never been blatantly HOed in the MA when it could have been a 1v1. I should have known better than to give a Spit driver the benefit of the doubt. In no way is this a piss and moan post, but now I am starting to see the gamey guys getting into it. What really got me was when he PMed me I haven't seen anything like that since Pluto was here. The old saying is it takes two to Ho, well i try my best not to Ho folks, I try not to pick, if I am in a fur ball and get HOed no prob. If I pick it is because I am in Hot, and there is a red guy chasing a green guy, usually I miss and just get the red guy to break off. In no way am I thinking of leaving the game, but from now on if I have the advantage, if it is a HO, a pick or a vulch, I am taking it. I love the knife fight, but I have read in the BBS about the GAMEY aspects getting bad, and people complaining about it, I just figured it was one of those things. So from here on out, If I set my site on a bird, whether it be a HO, a pick or a Vulch, I am taking the shot.

Some people suck. Don't let them get to you.

The best revenge is when you unknowingly encounter him again from a possition of disadvantage and then kick his arse from here to the other side of the area.
My 110 vs a C.205...... just sayin' :noid.

See Rule #4

Well once i got hoed by a spit16 when i was in an M-jug, came down stallfighting with him... all he was tryin to do is to separate and shoot my face. Then got the same abuse ("youre SCHOOLED RETARD")
Look, i dont mind being killed (heck i knew i had no chance against that spit), still that kind of spineless bastages used to piss me off. I was tryin to give him some 1v1 fun instead of an endless Mjug BnZ, then got this.
He was the well-respected one who just posted the uppage limit by time thread.
Chit happens. Be a heartless dweeb if you want, you only gonna get a good 1v1 in the MA from your friends anyway.

Sorry Doc,
:salute I know it chafes to have those encounters. Heck, some days after a long run of bad luck, I have been known to get a lil mean myself  Maybe you can chaulk that up to making that pilot's day. I know this really doesn't sound very supportive, but the sooner that you are able to get that bad taste from a poor sportsman out of your head, the sooner all the following encounters will be more prominent :aok and the sooner his dweebery can fade into the file cabinet under, "sometimes a real dick".

Never ever give the benefit of the doubt to a spitfire driver. They're silly.

+ 1 from this Spitfire pilot!

+ 1 from this Spitfire pilot!
:lol see i told ya. Except the difference with you is, you're good fun to fight and you're cool win or lose. :)

Not all Spit drivers are HOturds. Let's just get that straight, lol

Why? If you do that, that Spitfire pilot is teaching you how to play the game (and not for the better I might add). Instead, avoid the HO and kill him with the better head on your shoulders.
Then, feel free to PM them and say, "See? I didn't have to HO and your attempted HO even put me in a better position. Thanks!" It really pisses them off! :devil

Mean people suck. :aok

HOing takes as much skill as required to pull the trigger. Life being about incentives could AH write some code that if you are killed in a HO you have to wait 5 minutes to relaunch? Right now there is no disincentive to HO, other then 200 or PMs. If these little dweeptards (not to insult the Vtard squad) had to sit out for 5 minutes they would see the risk and HOing incidents would drop dramatically.
If we keep the current model, HO after HO after HO after HO, get some kills then die in a HO, reup 2 seconds later...nothing changes. Penalize the HO.
Boo
PS I know, most will moan the loss of 5 minutes but it will only be for a few weeks until the dweeptards get a clue. Besides, moaning about the 5 minutes is the intent. Keep moaning until you stop HOing.

Are you sure you're playing the same game as the rest of us?
Do not give in to the "tardation" shun silly play, take the high road then grief them on 200 for their "skirt wearing"

LoL!!! This has been a raging issue since the first MMO flight sim. Face it folks, people HO, it's just the way it is. Sure, in WWII, an HO meant he could shoot u, u could shoot him, and you could collide, killing both of you.........and they still did so. In fact, one of the tactics most used by 190s on the eastern from was the HO since that big radial tended to stop bullets and the fire power of the 190 would shred any opponent. This is a game!!!! We don't really die!!!! Get back up there, find him alone at low alt, and play with him like a cat does a mouse until you want to eat his innards!!!

You can't keep hanging on that Jager, it was pretty much my first turn and burn fight in a 205.
Gambling and experimenting in what the eye-tie kite could do, I learned a valuable lesson that the 205 doesn't stall fight at all well.
Considering my suckage you sure have set your sights low. But I'm not surprised your bile has seeped out of the Top Gun thread.
I find it interesting he continues to post although inactive and mainly a troll. Best thing to do is add to ignore list, it works well.

Maybe I'm the exception to the rule, but on average I seem to find a couple of good 1 v 1's a week. Would it be great to have it occur a couple of times a day? Sure it would, but i'll take what I can get. :salute

Oh, no, not referencing that fight between you and me. About 2 years back, I got in a fight in my 110G against a C205 and if I remember right, a P-47D-25. Out fought both of them, killing the C2, but wasn't able to finnish of the jug, and ended up crashing dead-stick.

:old: Bacon8r is making me hungary. :cry

I had a pair of awesome 1 v 1's today in the MA, and they included responsible HOs. The first was a bit rough, HO collided with a perk corsair who rammed me as I was trying to evade him. Then, in my very damaged P-47D-40, I got into a low alt dogfight with an La. It was an awesome fight, cause after he blew his E, we were fairly well evenly matched in turn rate, his climbing was better. My pilot was wounded as well, seemed to be every time I could get my guns on him I blacked out, so I fired blindly ;) After all of this, I was shot down. I then took up a P-40F and fought the same pilot in a new lag.
By responsible HOs, my opponent and I would take shots until about 200 yards out, then get slightly angle off to merge, then resume maneuvering. And type of head on shot where he was not quite pointed at me or vise versa was fair game. We fought for what I think must have been 5 full minutes without disruption be either side. I scored some hits on him, and he on me. I lost my left gear, aileron, and flap, and the front gas tank was holed. He ended up breaking off into his own ack, I don't know his damage status. I turned for home, and even with nme upping from the base we fought near, they let me be as I flew home. I made it with 3 minutes fuel at full military power, and made a no flaps belly landing. It was one of the best flight I have ever had with no kills. In a twist, just as I was about to end sortie, I got a message saying I scored an assist on my opponent. He must have landed, re-armed, and upped again only to be killed.
You can HO me every day for a month, I will still love this game!!!! BTW - It was Sads I believe, and the whole time we talked about our fights and the merits of the other pilot and their plane on 200 the whole time. No rules were spoken, just some common sense at work!!!

and this is the only reason I keep coming back through the last ten years. Always launchin looking for that one good fight of the night.

That was the first time that I had been blatantly HOed like that. Now that I think about it, I am not going to start HOing, it is not worth it to get the reputation that some of these other guys have. I would have gotten on last night but we had a cold front come thru and we had power outages in my area. It is one of those things, I guess.
-
If you DONT take the shot you ARE the Ho. :D
-
While you display admirable chivalry, don't expect others to respect your no HO rule in an MA environment. Yes, it might have been a 1v1, but for all you know he might have been down to fumes and was desperate to end the fight quickly by any means. Your mistake wasn't in failing to take the HO, but rather in calling him out for taking one. His response, while juvenile, seems perfectly reasonable given that you'd just berated him. Did you expect an apology?
-
I bluntly hoe'd a Pony B in my Spit 14 last night. I initiated and pressed for it.
Maybe he was angry about it too... especially as my ride hadn't exactly been inferior in a turnfight ;)
But in the distance a whole gaggle of much higher enemy planes were inbound, and I was already light on fuel and ammo. If I had chosen the 'honorable' way, they would have certainly 'unhonorably' piled on me.
No thank you. :P
