this plane only had 2 prototypes built, i know, i know,, so nobody start b--ching at me about how it never saw service. k.. it was the first plane considered to be used for the heavy water project (atomic attack on america). it was one of the largest bomber they ever used and ,, honest i think it would be cool to have a plane with 6 engines anyway.

Interesting that it would have been considered for a mission to drop a bomb the Nazis didn't possess in a plane
that couldn't reach the target :lol Sounds like Adolf alrighty :aok

or, in very distant future, this:

Only 13 built, but extensively used.

Most of this kind stuff is simply post war legend ;)

would be kinda nice if we had one that trasported acouple of tanks

An unusual thing about the Me323 is the fact that there were no survivors at the end of the war. They had all been destroyed by accidents or in combat.

No such thing.
acually there was.. lots of russian planes could carry tanks into battle even
-
Care to name a few of them which "carried a couple of tanks"?
-
i forget what it's called but it is similar in design to the spruce goose but on a bit of a smaller scale

I thought so :)
Oh wait, as they were "many of them", you might simply name another one. ;)
-
well there was only 1 that i have heard of that could carry more than one tank, but the ones that could carry only 1, stuff like the A-40 Krylya Tanka and the tb-3,, those kinda things, bombers that were modified for those roles
-
I rest my case :)
-
how, there are still planes that can carry tanks :headscratch:

These three pictures I found on line of the interior struck me as interersting.
I kind of get it why none made it to big a target to miss. From what I have read not exactly a trouble free air frame.

Also didn't know it had defensive guns mounted in it's wings.

Lol, yeah, those 9-10 ton light tanks with 15mm of armor. Good 'effing luck getting any WWII aircraft off the ground with not just 1 panzer IV on board, but MULTIPLE panzer IV's.
Only reason we can carry of our modern MBT's, let alone 2 or 3, is because of the turbo jet, and the aircraft themselves are larger.
-
holy crap lyric, those are some sweet pics of the wing mounted gun turrets.. come on guys how can u tell me that those manned turrets in the wings wouldn't be fun to operate.

The B-29 could lift the weight of a Panzer IV or T-34, but not the shape.

Exactly. Any aircraft that could lift the weight didn't have the cargo space.

Is that the Spruce Mooseknuckle?
-
Err yaaaa Like I said before. I'm a dreamer but this is a lot take out of the question...
-
It just occured to me:
SpenceAce should fly mostly EW aircraft for a little while (109E, 109F, C202, I-16). That way, when he goes back to the LW stuff, it will seem like the wunderwaffen hes been craving.

Wing area/loading...and less drag, too.
