WTG man! I'm taking my private pilot ride in about 2 weeks.. Got any advice? What did your examiner have you do?

Way to go! Congrats to ya! It's a great feeling, isn't it?!
-
This is a day you'll remember the rest of your life. Congrats and welcome to the ranks of the real pilots. :aok

I put way more pressure on myself than the examiner did. We spent about 3 hours on the ground going over my x-country flight plan(he what ifluffied this and that) and went into the FAR/AIM with many situational questions. The flight portion was easier than the ground by far. We did a short x-country leg to check navigation and timing, then did a simulated eng out, slow flight clean and dirty, stalls, steep turns then some instrument work under the hood. Finished up with soft, short and normal T/O and landings. My biggest advice is don't freak yourself out like I was doing. If I can pass, anyone can.

You are also correct. Pilots are always their own worst enemy on a check ride.

I was just trying to reinforce the idea that flying is a learning experience, whether you have had your ticket for a few months or a few decades.

Congrats.

Good point, Dave. As a pilot, if you don't learn something new every time you fly, you probably weren't paying attention. And, probably missed that one thing that almost busted your butt. :salute
