Oh, I've signed up for MWOL too. :aok
-
It looks like an ok game, I just don't like mech games that use that "boost skating" feature. I prefer the movement mechanics in games like the MW series or chromehounds.
-
Hawken looks like smaller mechs, almost like Heavy Gear. MW has larger more cumbersome mechs. I like both types.
-
I like the big walking battle mechs, the jump-n-shoot stuff of Hawken looks more like the bunny hoppers from FPS game. The graphics were quite impressive, but I will hold out for MW Online. :aok
I'm really looking forward to hopping in to a Federated Sun or Northwind Highlander marked Warhammer (WMR-8D variant). :aok
-
Sadly the chances we'll ever see a Warhammer or any of the other "unseen" Robotech-licensed mechs ever again are... virtually nil. :frown:
-
Yeah I'm looking forward to MWOL. I will have to find a merc corp that will use a scout as a scout instead of using them as just bait all the time.
-
My first impression of Hawken is it may not have the depth you get customizing your mech like you have in MW. I may check it out though, still looks like it might be fun.
Wiley.

already reserved MK-84 for mwo :)

warhammer IIC is a reseen and in the game iirc
Reseen mechs:
warhammerIIC
riflemanIIC
MarauderIIC
Shadowhawk
ShadowhawkIIC
PhoenixhawkIIC
(yes the shadowhawk is a reseen :D )
hawken shouldnt be called mechs. make it mecha and ill feel better :lol
add in the word konami or the words super dimension fortress macross and ill feel like its perfection ;)

I don't know. The Warhammer'ish lookalike mech they used in the promo video caused an immediate cease and desist order by Harmony Gold USA (owners of the Robotech franchise). IGN even had to take down the video. When FASA went under so did their licensing rights for the Robotech models.
-
Guess they need to remodel the Warhammer a wee bit so that it doesnt look like Robotech's cartoon.
Such a sad thing, too. :frown:
-
They already had. The WHM they used in the video looked more like a IIC version (though the game was supposed to be set at the end of the third succession war).

that was the warhammer mkI. also you missed the jenner that vaulted onto the building. the jenner is unseen also

Clearly they've taken more than a few creative licenses with the Warhammer model in the video (posted above).
Here's the WHM-6R from the 3025 technical readout:

The video above was supposedly only a test graphical presentation of what the game was supposed to look like. Obviously, they hit a legal snafu.
Hopefully, they are able to get MWOL out and not have it be a piece of crap.
-
MWOL is not out yet eh? Any idea on a release date?

They are saying it WILL be 2012. I have my doubts.

It represents the IS version yes, but they've clearly changed it a lot: High torsos, arms angle outwards, legs with visible joints, foot with a heel, no spotlight and countless other changes. Probably in an attempt to avoid copyright infringement.

most likely

Meh. Anything like that will automatically draw comparisons to BattleTech/MechWarrior. That one just looks like a run of the mill FPS that uses those powered armor suits from The Matrix universe to me.
