What's it do?

its mapable for any game function that your USB joystick buttons might be mapped to.

i use mine for individual engine control in b24s as well as any keyboard command that I must use multiple keystrokes for.

i have mine set up for things i use but not all the time.  gear up/down, jump airplane, autopilot, tail hook, open bomb doors, damage, etc.

It's just like having 16 extra buttons for your joystick.

Did you use a Bodnar board?  Build is very nice looks professional,  I was able to built a full rotary trim control with a Bodnar board I don't use it any more since I got a tm warthog.  I plan on someday building g a full cockpit with all switches and dials since there are direct x boards available now it makes a lot easier.

Not Bodnar stuff. These are used circuit boards I modify myself. Im going to work on some analog controls to go with the button panel next build.
I'll PM ya regarding the simpit.

Where are these DirectX boards? The only thing I have seen are the Bodnar boards and it is really spotty IF the guy will answer emails or let you know if your shipment is on the way from what I have been told.

Basically, just take any USB game controller and a suitable box. Tear the controller apart, put the innards into the box, drill holes where needed and voilą! You may want to change the microbuttons to those with a nut like Valu68 uses for durability and easy install.

XBOX 360 wired controllers. 12 buttons, 2 analog sticks, 2 analog sliders. Plugs straight into your Windows 7 PC's USB port and works first try.

It's a good, cheap base to experiment with.

Yea 12 buttons but if you use dpdt switches you can actually make it 16 more buttons.

AH reads the directional pad as the forward/back/right/left and will allow you to use them om combination with each other as a seperate button/control.

Really was hoping that you were talking about a different supplier since Bodnar is spotty at best with shiipping and communication about orders.

I guess I lucked out then. I purchased one around 2 years ago relatively easy took around 2 weeks overall.

I dont know if you want to. I know how many wires there in the few I have built and it looks like spaghetti. I even used several zipties to try and keep things as neat and tidy as possible.

I do have a few pics of some of my wiring nit in box yet. That is if you were referring to my post.

I think it was more in a reply to Leo Bodnar and my doings business with him.  I really like the finished look of 68valu controls too.

take joystick apart and the wires going to the buttons well connect them to the new pushbuttons.  save everything except for the joystick "outer shell".

It's not quite tha easy semp when many of the buttons are pcb mounted. In those cases you need to be somewhat practiced in the art of soldering to a circuit board.

If you have never done it before then it would be wise to buy a cheap board at radio shack to practice on.

Yeah dkff49 , Took me a while to learn how to solder .

it was just a simplified version of it dk :). I know it's a bit more complicated than that.  but it's not as hard as anyone can think.  of course patience is a virtue.  me I have none as I tried to do it myself and ended up ordering one from 68valu.
