Don't really see the point of having it 12 hours. If it's for spying and stuff, its going to happen regardless.
Really hinders the ability to be able to even out the sides when you want to go low numbers and you have 672 minutes left before you switch. Once the fights die on one country I just log off for another 24 hours until the next night. If we can't get 1 hour back, can't we get at least 2 or 3?
-
I completely agree. The other night when the numbers dwindled down it was hard to find some good fights.

I've never really said anything before, but it is getting a bit annoying to fly with either a complete red, or complete green horde. Only time I feel like playing lately is if there's a GV fight, or a map with an active Tank Town/Fighter Town.
:(

I hda the good fortune to be able to have a wicked time in TT when I was online... apparently that doesn't happen often. :(

12 hrs is way too long.

Bump : Now I know were not the only ones that don't agree with the switch country timing . I figured this would be one of those 20 page thread's .
-
That's only because there have been threads on it already and the resistance has been demoralized.
-1 to the 12 hour switch. 1 or 2 hours should be enough.

you would think if it was such a big deal there would be hundreds of players here demanding a change :uhoh.

yup. 1 hr.
Also, the in depth explanation that it was put back that way because that's how it was when we originally had 1 late war arena was so powerful. :uhoh

Yeah but God is not here I wish he would show up and FIX it .
EDIT: Now how am I suppose to keep up with my squad with a 12 hour switch time . That right there is is is , not going to say it

shameless BUMP
this 12 hours thingy is horrible, many of us brought up numerous possible ways to make it better for everyone.
I would be pleased if someone could explain why is it as good that it must be forced over the rationality. We are fueling this game, and not otherwise.
-
I'm with you guys on this one. 1 hour is plenty. I'm in contact with most of my squad through various means, most of us have each others phone #, facebook and messenger. If we want to cheat its easy but we wont do it because it's simply not that important to us. Switching sides for an hour or two for a fight instead of just logging of in frustration is a big deal.
If I wanted to tell the bish anything I could tie a note to a rock and throw it at SD67.

It's BLASPHEMY!!! lol
I would agree to ~3 hour switch time. Numbers don't usually change that drastically within and hour when I'm online.

Yes I believe it is a HUGE DEAL!!!!!
HiTech
Outstanding policy and well understood, but to what extent?
There seems to be a lot of folks that do not like the length of time to switch. If it is 12 ours to curb rule #4 violations, then it is a case of punishing more than just the violators. In the real world, punishing the platoon for the actions of one may precipitate the platoon schooling the violator. Here, not so effective.
Is there no way that Rule #4 violations cannot be dealt with on an individual basis?
Is there a reason that a poll of active paying subscribers would not be a fair way to see which amount of time that the community agrees upon by popular vote?

For every one person who hates the 12 hour switch, there are probably 20 paranoid horde mongers who would rather lose an eye than switch sides.

i don't remember who's idea it was, but the best idea i have heard is a 1-4 hour switch time with a perk charge. if you wait till 4 hours or more after switching sides there is no charge to switch again. but to switch earlier costs perks based on the time remaining. additionally it would cost more to switch to higher numbers side than lower numbers side with a 1 hour delay minimum......
IE if i switched sides and want to switch again i must wait 1 hour and lets say I'm going to a higher # side it would cost 50 perks, but if i went to a lower number side it would cost 40. or if i waited 2 hours it would cost 40 to go higher or 30 to go lower etc....
the cost would have to be reasonable but help prevent the bouncing to the WIN THE WAR side just before the change. if i only get 25 perks for being on the winning side but it will cost me 20 or more to get there then i have gained nothing in a gamey move.
spying is gunna happen no matter how long the time for switching is set for. no matter what you do about it a scumbag will find a way to be a scumbag. so punishing me and preventing me from enjoying the time i do get to play by preventing me from hanging with my squad or going where the fights are is in the end counter productive. i will eventually get frustrated and just stop bothering to show up very often, in a short period of time from that more and more of my squad, who are frustrated (because of flying alone cause they either cant switch to join their squaddies or cant switch to find a fight, or are alone cause the squad members don't bother to log in anymore for those reasons), follows suit and then its just a moment of frustration from there to cancel the account.
now i am not saying that i am quiting, my example is only stated to show to you what i have seen happen. there are Muppet's who haven't been on in months and this is a major part of the reason behind their disappearance, some have cancelled their accounts because who wants to continue to pay for something they aren't using or just dont enjoy anymore?
-
I understand everything if there is one rational reason for it.
Havent heard one single rational reason why is it good when there are many, much better alternatives.

there was 550+ players last night. the number of players is increasing a bit every month. with that many players is hard to say you cant find "any fights". even late at night there hasnt been one night where I can honestly say there werent any fights. all the way from 1 -2 to chasing the vtards around when they are attacking undefended bases.
and when there was a 1 hour change, there were muppets who hadnt been around for months also. some muppets have quit due to different circumstances than what you describe.
with all the players that posted about not finding a good fight, well you guys are pretty good sticks and I am pretty sure you arent all in the same country and since you like the same style of fight, why not fight each other when it's slow?
semp
-
The problem semp, is locating fights that aren't gigantic globs of players. Those fights are few and far between. Even farther still, when side switching is more or less neutralized (for fear that you'll be stuck in a bigger horde an hour after you switch).

yes others had quit in years prior for many reasons, but lately the biggest reason for Muppet inactivity is related to time switching.
i had a choice a week ago, hang with my squadies who were playing but unfortunately were on the high number side (a mob showed up after they switched) or fly on a low side by myself. well im in a squad cause i like to fly with my squad not against them. although Muppetside is a very common event we would actually rather be on the same side working together instead of against each other.
waiting 12 hours so that we can be in the same country then being stuck with horde like country numbers because the tardlings sign on in mass is aggrivating and extremely frustrating.
you cant find a fight when everywhere you go 20 or more friendlies up behind you, you become a part of the horde you are attempting to avoid. i had green guys clear my 12 O'clock in 6 flights in a row, not because they were just being jerks, but because there were so few red guys that they swamed any that appeared no matter how many were already on it. lucky me, at the time i had only 9.5 hours remaining before i could switch again.

The only reason I've ever seen for the 12 hour switch rule was Hitech saying thats what it was before the split arena days and when he went back to the single LW arena he had forgotten to reset it back to the 12 hours.
I wonder if anyone has ever talked with Hitech personally and asked him why he has it set for 12 hours. If there was a reason posted other than "because I said so" I'd be happy to stick with it.

Exactly, Fugi, thats what im waiting for. Someone from HTC to explain us, why is it forced as much and why is this rule as good.

the 12 hr rule changed how some people play like that, they will switch from country to country depending on who's hording at the time. I know some people like cal are pretty good at giving a fair fight. but the majority of people who switch, will switch just to horde. some people just get caught in the middle.
but to be honest the muppets mostly stayed as bishops even when there was a 1 hr switch and specially at night when the bishops had more players. they wouldnt fly with he tards for sure but they were not with the low side either. so I dont buy this the 12 hour rule is making me quit, sorry.
I play just about everyday from early afternoon till dawn sometimes. and i do agree that it's getting to be more like a horde against horde fights. I dont like it either as it's hard for me to pick as much as I want :D (ok it's a joke but a serious joke). but even then changing countries when there's hundreds of players isnt gonna make it easier to find a "small fight". in early afternoon the side with the low numbers has at least 150 players. so it's hard to make the case that 1 hr switch time will allow to find smaller fights. and even if you ask about late at night, may I remind you about how the bishops had way more players who had switched to roll undefended bases.
anyway enough rambling for me :salute :bolt:

this is one statement i will dispute.......
Muppet's dont mostly fly bish, if anything they are least often found upon the bishop side. when i joined the Muppet's they were the scourge of the B.o.P.'s..(<S> B.o.P.'s)...who are a bishop only squad. we made it a point if the B.o.P.'s were on in force we would go to whatever side they were hording so we could fight them.
now times have changed and the B.o.P.'s are either not as huge a squad as they once were or they just arent on as often, (cause i dont see them in horde base jumping mode anymore) but the Muppet's being side jumpers to find the fights has not changed. are we caught on occasion on the high numbers side...well unfortunately with the 12 hour rule and the fact that each country has its own dedicated mega-horde squad, well yes, yes sadly we are.
you further missed my specific point when i stated clearly that i am not quitting, but i have lost squaddies over this, and am losing interest in not being able to fly with who i choose to fly with, in a place that will give me the best opportunity to find excitement in the game. being one of the 10 people jumping a single con is just not exciting to me......
now i may not cancel my account.......but i am not against just not signing on for months at a time. now as HiTech still gets paid they will not care if i am there or not, but for the people in the MA's, who want to find combat in a combat simulation game, each loss of an active and combative player moves you closer and closer to only having mega-hordes that spend their nights avoiding contact with each other so that they can overwhelm and roll undefended bases.
does that clarify what i was trying to say?
oh, and p.s. before i have one third of the community up in arms, there is nothing wrong with flying bish.......everyone starts off in the shallow end of the swimming pool, some just choose to make a career out of wading!!!
:neener: :bolt:
