Title: Perked weapons
Post by: Butcher on February 28, 2012, 07:22:02 PM
Haven't seen this thread for a long while I figured since their's WW3 in the Yak-UT thread I'd move a discussion over here. I love the idea of perk weapon systems, for example one thread brought up the attention the P51-D's loadout of 6x rockets and 2x bombs was quite rare,  I believe the package would be perked, either 6x rockets or 2x bombs would not be. I can see the idea of taking 2-5 perks from the "fighter" category. B-29 for example 20k bombload perked or 10k non-perked.
Question I want to ask is just how far can we stretch this idea out? possible drop tank on the C.205 (quite rare) for a few perks? given it would take 1 kill of a low eny ride to pay off the drop tank, I would certainly go for it.

The Idea for the F4u-1D to have the F4u-1C's gun option? 15 ENY and 15 perks for choosing the 4x 20mm option, don't forget tiny tim rockets - another 20 perk possibility.

I'm thinking the idea is pretty great, gives a chance to add some weapon systems to the game and not unbalance the arenas.

What other options can we think up?

R4Ms for the 262s.
Incendiary bombs that does more damage to buildings for all bombers.
When then Ju-88 and 110s get remodeled, hopefully we get a night fighter variant with angled guns firing upward. (Perfect for Lancs, B26s, Bostons, B26s and Jap bombers)
2000x round P38s.
467 per Gun P47s.
Frizt bomber when we get the He-111.

2000x round P38s.

Why perk the full ammo load out?  It wasn't rare, in fact it was rare for the pilot to carry less than the full machine gun and cannon ammo load.

I agree...I NEVER take the 500MG/150Cannon Configuration. Hell, I usually use the .50s before I use the cannon cuz I have so much of it and I suck.

Could've sworn I read somewhere that it was, or maybe I'm thinking of the P47 heavy loadout.

Not me.  You should lose the perks when you drop the ordnance.

Agreed.

Also, under no circumstances should the B-29 be unperked as suggested by the OP.

Disable the 262 from small or medium airfield.

or

The 262 should be only available near HQ large airfield like Me163.

why perk B-29 load-outs? People hardly ever use it now....

wouldn't it take out the perks when you launch on the runway? it would have to account for the perk modifier change as well. If you land on the runway with the ord's then it should redeem it (same as a sucessful landing in a perked ride).

'Waiting for' insinuates they've said it's coming.  Have we been waiting for it, or asking for it?

:huh  ...Are you saying you get your perks back if you don't use it?  Respectfully, what would be the point of that?  "Here is a big gun, but you only get your perks back if you don't use it."  It would seem to me it should be the same as upping a perked ride.  Land safely, perks come back.  Risk for taking it, no risk for using it once you've got it.

Wiley.

well I wouldn't try and get the quote but the perked ordinance should have been there for the C-hog remodel...

Yes to the 51, maybe to the C2 (DT's are a bit iffy), big HELL no to the F4U-D w/ the C's 20mm cannons.

No to the limiting of 262's. Its not like opperating from airfields spaced every 35 miles along the front was an every-day thing for any of the aircraft we have here.

1000 pound bombs should be perked on fighters.  Kind of ridiculous to have hordes of P-51s flatten entire bases and not be big lumbering targets like normal bombers.

I would love a perked ords system, actually I'd like perks to take a much bigger role overall in AH.  I can see a problem with launching missions though...

Well, if you catch them en route to target they are rather lumbering.

However, I see your point and agree completely.
