Oh, for crying out loud. I fully understand that this guy must be stopped, but honestly-- you probably saw it on Facebook or Twitter, right? He's been building up this child army for 6 years. My mum was in Uganda for a month just over 2 years ago, and she still remembers hearing about them, and actually seeing them. She said it was terrifying and saddening beyond belief. I mentioned it to a friend about a year and a half ago, and he said "cool story bro" and I never heard anything of it again. Then some "hipster" decides to try and promote some documentary to stop this tyrant, and the world goes "HOLY CRAPPZ GUYYS THIS GUY IS RIIIGHHTTT!! LET'S ALL PRETEND WE'RE ACTIVISTS!!!"
So I do respect this post, and I do think he should be stopped. But I'm only saying that he's been doing this for a LOONG time now.
:salute
With all due respect.

Except the part where the folks that you donate money to are a shady non-profit that only gives 30% of the money to the actual cause.
Nothing to see here, move along.
-
If you want to actually make the world a better place go volunteer at a soup kitchen or animal shelter. Posting something online and pretending you're helping is accomplishing absolutely nothing

Ok, I see where this is going so we might as well clear the ice before it melts. I support stopping Joseph Kony, I do not support Uganda Government. For they are responsible for more deaths then Kony. Also that the invisible children inc isn't donating all the money to stop Kony less then 32% of it to direct supporters.
Seriously though do you support the cause to stop it or not. (lol who am I kidding)

Stealth, Bono has been going on for a long, long time about international poverty, Haiti, etc, etc, etc.
When the dust clears a report is swept under the rug showing up to $1 billion of donated aid for the poor and needed was misappropriated. Had it taken place inside the US it would be Bernie Maddow type fraud, outside the US we can only weep and pretend it didn't happen.
By US Federal law a non-profit organization only need spend a fraction of donated funds on the actual charity. The balance can be used for salaries, travel, office space, conferences, TV commercials, marketing, etc. This is why when Katrina happened many people were pretty ticked off at the Red Cross. They ran TV adds promoting donations for Katrina victims, raised millions and millions with only fractions of the actual dollars going to New Orleans.
This does not mean this is a scam. This does mean do some serious due diligence on first the issue and second the conduit. Most of these....I would suggest first checking with the US State Dept. They track international charities and can provide much information.

Just curious who actually cares about stopping Kony? Sounds kinda fun to me running around throwing paper cut material. I got a huge wall of posters to, how do you think a Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Kony poster would look right next to Deep Blue Sea and the Fall of the Berlin wall poster.
I really do think though if someone who dedicated most of their life to help his friend and free their people, is well worth helping. Would make a good feature film don't you think?

This is the problem.
We will drop bombs all over North Africa in the name of "humanitarian crisis",
but we won't raise a finger to stop the genocide in sub-Saharan Africa.
That says a lot about prejudice and lack of oil.
I forgot to mention: They are murdering the last of the mountain gorillas, and the last of the African elephants.
White rhinos be damned.

If you think this is new, i suggest a bit of research on child soldiers.
My youngest is adopted from Liberia where my wife volunteered as a nurse. What they did with the child soldiers there has been well documented and that war has been over for a while now. And while spreading the word online is fine, getting involved for real is better. I realize it's not always possible, but we, meaning the West, tend to get excited for a cause for a few minutes until the next one comes along so we can get excited about that one, and forget the previous.

Wow, that's almost exactly what I told my friend on Facebook. She was making a big deal out of bringing "awareness." I told her "awareness" only goes so far unless there is something actually done. That's why I hate these types of videos. People watch them, get emotional, spread the word because it's the right thing to do and because they are such a good person, and then do nothing else...click and forget.

It's obvious that the western world deems certain regions "unworthy" of their intervention, yet other regions are very "worthy" of their intervention (bombs).
Why is that?

I would love for Kony to be captured and brought to Justice.
I just have these problems:
1. This has been going on for many years
2. Us troops have been deployed to Uganda for months
3. There is evidence that Kony isn't even in Uganda
4. Us troops are sent there as advisors with instruction to "remove [Kony] from the battlefield". So they aren't really advisors and they are combat equipped.
5. We are spending money that we don't have
6. Invisible Children is a money making operation and a scam
7. Everyone is just now recently getting worked up about this and think they help by posting a video
8. No one can do this:
This is why I poke fun at the absurdity of it. Also Melvin please don't generalize me. I don't support Obama's policy on bombing Libya either so it isn't like I am a racist bigot who can help North Africans but not Ugandans. It isn't our job to do either. We should only act when the safety of our nation is at risk.
-
This whole social media blitz smells very, very fishy to me. So I did a little research, here is just one of the links I found regarding Invisible Children. LINK (http://thedailywh.at/2012/03/07/on-kony-2012-2/)
The short version is this, if you give money to this Invisible Children "charity" it will go to
A) Line the pockets of wealthy California businessmen.
B) Prop up and support the military arm of the corrupt Ugandan government.
C) Support the Sudan People’s Liberation Army, which on the taking advantage of children front is not far behind Kony's LRA, according to the UN
The fact is that Kony is not even in Uganda anymore, his is on the run and in hiding after he was routed by US troops. He may even be dead already.
His atrocities have been going on for 30 years, and now he's about done for. Don't you think this "charity" is a little late to the party... by about 25 years. This is obviously nothing more then an attempt to make money by preying on peoples emotions, don't fall for it.
Kony's atrocities are not the cause of central Africa's problems, they are a symptom of it. Killing or capturing him, will no more stop genocide and war in central Africa, then killing Osama Bin Laden stopped extremist Islamic terrorism.
Maybe I'm just a heartless $#@#&! but I think it is incredibly foolish and naive to believe that you can stop a crazy warlord and bring peace to an entire region by sitting on your comfy couch, watching a 20 minute video, and then clicking "share". I think that if you are truly moved to help the cause... maybe, just maybe, you need to put in a little more effort.
Remember when everyone on facebook stopped child abuse by changing their profile pics to cartoon characters? Whew! I'm sure glad we don't have to worry about child abuse in our society anymore.

These kinds of people cry all the time about how we're occupying regions in which we have no business. Remember Iraq? The Iraq with Saddam Hussein, who had a death tally double of Kony's, and was bluffing that he had WMD's as well? How did the college kids like us "intervening" there? And then they about-face and start demanding this man be brought to justice. Screw these people (IC Inc.), if they want change throughout the world they can do it themselves. The US Military is for defending our interests as a nation, not our peace of mind. I mean Golly-geen, it's called the Department of Defense, and this guy poses no threat to us.
At least these people understand that you have to use force to get things done, most hipsters think changing what you plan on wearing for a day is going to make a difference. But what they should be doing instead of trying to use the Government and the Military as their errand-runners is either going there themselves, because it is their initiative (but they won't because every single one of them has more than one pair of lips, if you catch my drift), or use all the money they raise to hire a PMC and take the guy down.
I don't want to sound indifferent, but as a nation Kony is not our problem.
This guy articulates my sentiment much better http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/post/18890947431/we-got-trouble

the claim that Iraq definitely had WMDs was used as a justification for waging war and removing Saddam Hussein (not a bad thing), but WMDs were not actually found :headscratch:

Do not tell me what I should do.
Show me what you have done, yourself so that I may be inspired to follow your lead. Anything else is rhetoric and hot air.
Tupac posts about helping animals in shelters and then provides pictures of him using his own airplane and fuel to transport them to better places/homes. That I can respect.
You, on the other hand, post a youtube link (which can be a movie cut/pasted/edited by anyone) and tell everyone how they should care for your cause. It is grandstanding at it's finest.
I will say, however, that you show great promise for having a splendid career in politics.
Lead by example.
Lead from the front.
Others are more likely to follow you...

Just heard a term used bt a friend of mine to describe these people who think they are ACTUALLY HELPING him be caught and brought to justice by posting a VIDEO on a SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE.
"Slacktivists"
It fits quite well. If you looked at the number of people who have posted this video in the last 3 days, versus those who would/have really done something to do ANYTHING, you would find a very high ratio of "slacktivists" vs. "Activists"
I'd also like to know why everyone wants to stop him when he is in any one of 5 or 6 politically turbulent countries.
-
saggs wins.
Also to stealth stop asking if people care. Most people care that he is killing innocent people and kidnapping children but they are realists and understand how stuff works. He isn't the first African tyrant and won't be the last. Also if he is killed or captured someone will take his place. Assuming Childrens Inc isn't a scam (i think it is) they have been at it for 9 years and nothing has changed. If 100 American troop advisors is the cure to this then it isn't a big deal at all. Saggs said it best our resources should be used to defend our nation not save the world and Kony isn't a threat to our nation. Our country has much bigger problems. Find out how many people are murdered in the US each year and how many kids are kidnapped (I don't know but would like to compare). So yes i want him stopped but realistically it won't matter and isn't possible with me clicking share or slangin posters or givin a few dollars to a shady org.
-
Dont
Care
Y'know why?
Where's your thread about the Sudan? Oh, George Clooney stopped talking about it so it must be fixed right?
How about China? Meh, it's mainly Christians being killed there so who cares right?
Somalia? Meh, no celebrities whining about that one either.
I just wish all these bleedin hearts would get their crap together and do something besides moan and whine. Politics is the new opiate of the masses. R's vs D's or whatever other useless party exists.
Oh I know, go get yourself some poster boards and paint from Walmart and a Guy Falkes mask off Amazon so you can go stink up a park somewhere,. That'll solve things!
-
Sympathy without action, as is the norm in the developed world when they see stuff like this, is perhaps even more useless than ignorance. At least with ignorance there is a chance for action to happen when the ignorance is lifted, but when the ignorance is not there and there is no action, there is no meaning to sympathy.

The video has in excess of 37,000,000 views. What's been done so far, jacksh*t. Nobody even knows where he IS right now. 50, 100, 500 million views won't bring Joe Kony out of power. Action will.

"Hussein regarded the Iranian threat as so serious that it was the major factor in his decision not to allow United Nations weapons inspectors to return, he said. Citing their shared border and his belief Iran would intend to annex southern Iraq, Hussein said he was more concerned about Iran discovering Iraq's weaknesses than repercussions from the United States and the international community. He believed that the inspectors would have directly identified to the Iranians where to inflict maximum damage to Iraq."

Pointing out that you are a gullible idiot, in a thread started by a gullible idiot, about a video with millions of views and repostings by gullible idiots...it fits reasonably well with the topic at hand

Think of it this way- the "slacktivists" provide moral support. Do anything long enough and you feel like no-one cares anymore. It certainly helps the ones who want to get something done. It's certainly better than nothing, though; though just watching it proves nothing, you don't know what the video is until you click on it.

We have our own problems in this country. I could care less what they do over there in Africa. That's the United Nations job. I have my own kids to worry about. If ya got a urge to save the world how about starting your own country first.

You want to save the world Penquin? How about you get off the computer and go downtown and just sit and talk with some wino for a few weeks and get to know them. Maybe take them to lunch. Buy them some cigarettes...become their friend. Ask them how they ended up the way they are. Ask them about their broken dreams and lost loves. Ask them if they care about what goes on in Africa.
I have and they don't. What they care about is somewhere warm to spend the night, what their kids look like now and if they think about them and say a prayer for them at bedtime. They wonder where they'll spend the day to get out of the heat on the streets and if they can scrap together enough change for some smokes and a bottle of MadDog so they can forgot about their lives for a few hours. They wonder if anyone will care who they were when some guy finds them dead in the gutter one cold morning.
You want to save the world...go for it. It's right in your backyard. But I doubt you have the balls. Much easier for your kind to just throw a few bucks overseas and brag about how you care soooo much about mankind. How about selling that robot geek toy you made and giving the cash to a homeless shelter. Better yet, go up to a homeless guy and put that fancy NorthFace jacket you love so much, on his back. You don't have to say a word...just walk away. That's how I roll. You just type about it, and share on your Facebook page.
The man I refer to in my little story was a Vietnam vet name James. People on the street called him "Colonel". Died in my arms while we were drinking behind a liquor store. aug of 91. Columbia Missouri. I can still see the half drank bottle of vodka laying in his lap that we were drinking that day. He was a corporal actually.

FYI... It ain't the UN who are in Africa right now hunting down this psycho and his cronies, the UN is a toothless tiger. It's US combat troops, and I doubt they care that a bunch of naive I-wanna-feel-good-about-myself-but-am-too-lazy-to-make-any-more-effort-then-changing-my-facebook-picture emotion driven lemmings are behind them.
Social media stuff like this is a joke, the "charity" behind it is obviously in it to make a profit, and the people who fall for it are emotionally driven naive folks, who want to feel good about themselves without actually doing a dang thing to help. Somehow they think they can salve their souls and fulfill the meaning of their existence by sitting on their couch and clicking "share" instead of actually doing something REAL to help the world.
[sarcasm] Remember when everyone on facebook stopped child abuse by changing their profile pics to a cartoon character? Whew... I'm sure glad we don't have to worry about child abuse in our society anymore.
Now apparently facebook is going to stop a long time crazed African warlord (who is already on his last legs, on the run and in hiding from US troops), save tens of thousands of African children (who are already dead) and bring lasting peace to central Africa, just by watching a 20 minute video and clicking "share", or even just changing your pic to to a catchy poster with his name on it, you really don't HAVE to watch the video.
WOW! Is there any end to the power of facebook! It's too bad facebook wasn't around in April 1945. They could have brought Hitler to justice and saved the lives of 6 million Jews. [/sarcasm]
-

[sarcasm] BUT, but, but.... why would anyone want to do that and actually help a real human being, in the real world. When they can instead sit comfortably in their la-z-boy, click "share" on their facebook page and save 20,000 dead African children instead... [/sarcasm]
Uptown nailed it.
If you REALLY want to help, no matter where you live there are doubtless numerous opportunities to help real people, and make a real difference. Sorry kids, but a mouse button is not a magic machine, which can bring warlords to justice and save children halfway around the world.
If you really want to bring warlords to justice... go join Special Forces or a mercenary contractor. If you want to save kids in Africa, go join the Peace Corps and build new clean wells and water systems for them.
Better yet, help out in your own hometown like Uptown suggested.
-
I will keep quiet about this one.
-
I got a question, lets say your a soldier and you saw kids being killed and you had a chance to stop it, would you. If you say "No" with out question speak up so I know who you are. If you say though "Well of course, but I can't I'm here" or something like that then keep shut and read my text. This isn't just about Kony in my mind. I think it's a beginning to slowly get rid of the worst people on earth. (Justin Bieber, Rebecca Black)
Now if you are a soldier or even retired. What do you believe in, now if you are just totally spam your thoughts. You won't offend me seriously, your doing a good thing because your educating me. If you some how say "No I won't spam my thoughts about the world to this kid who won't understand half the words I say", well thanks.
Now get yourself a beer or maybe walk until your feet bleed, because I'm sure surprised if you read this.

What are these facts that I'm trying to change? You just keep laughing if you are unable to articulate what specifically you disagree with. Your non-specificity is just an indicator that you haven't decided what you really believe, so you just pick a side and start throwing stones at the other.
-
No offense Stealth, but if I were a soldier i'd do what i was ordered to do. The only time I would not follow orders by my commanding officers is if it meant killing fellow Americans. The world is a harsh place and bad things happen. I'm truly sorry the world is how it is, but I believe I can be of more help here at home. Let those children's families and their government and the UN take care of that stuff over there. We have children here being killed by drug gangs by the hundreds every single day. How much effort have you put forth to stop that? None! Absolutely none.
How on earth can you expect to help someone if you don't help the one's all around you everyday first. Your heart is in the right place, just misguided imo. Kids here need our help too ya know.

The U.S has its own issues it needs to worry about...
Yes it's tragic for those people, but seriously I'm not gonna support any of this crap.

I seriously worry about your mental and emotional well being. The things you say....I ..wow... *Walks away*
-
That is a lie.
What are these facts that I'm trying to change? You just keep laughing if you are unable to articulate what specifically you disagree with. Your non-specificity is just an indicator that you haven't decided what you really believe, so you just pick a side and start throwing stones at the other.
:headscratch:
As I said in my response to your first post, I believe that you are hilariously deluded.
Why would I want to actually argue with someone like you about the Iraq war :bhead: I can't think of anything more futile tbh.

Someone like me...
Someone like who? Please digress. Is it anyone who doesn't agree with you?
When I hear somebody say something that's wrong or tell me I'm wrong it's time to have a discussion. To hash it out. Worst case scenario neither of us changes eachother's minds, but at least we have a better understanding of eachother. The only reason you wouldn't back yourself up after telling someone they're deluded and calling them an idiot is because all you can contribute is regurgitation of what has been fed to you, and your tank must already be empty.
You can always tell if someone doesn't know what they're talking about, they'll always be the first to try to back out without admitting so.
-

:rofl That word doesn't mean what you think it means
I've already made my meaning plain enough, you seem to be being deliberately obtuse. I'll try and spell it out one last time.
Why would I want to waste time arguing about the Iraq war with someone whose posts give me reason to believe they are utterly deluded, if not just plain stupid? To change your mind? :lol
Yeah, that always works in internet discussions about politics  We can go back and forward all day and you're still going to be a blindly patriotic idiot no matter what I post. Now, against my better judgement, I'm going to post just a couple of links and quotes, in the full knowledge that it is a waste of time and won't change your mind at all. :headscratch: I mean, people having been debating this BS for years and I doubt one single person has changed their opinion just because of what someone with an opposing view on the internet says. So, this isn't me arguing with you ;) this is just pointing out why I believe you're talking total crap when you use phrases like 'Saddam was bluffing that they had WMDs'. If anything it was US intelligence services making that bluff and using it as a justification to do what they wanted to do anyway (not saying that it was a bad thing, wanting to get rid of Saddam, don't get me wrong)
Saddam was bluffing that Iraq had WMDs :noid (what you said) or Iraq definitely having WMDs was used as a justification for going to war (what I said) http://articles.cnn.com/2004-10-06/world/iraq.wmd.report_1_nuclear-weapons-charles-duelfer-iraq-s-wmd?_s=PM:WORLD
The report was released nearly two years ago to the day that President Bush strode onto a stage in Cincinnati and told the audience that Saddam Hussein's Iraq "possesses and produces chemical and biological weapons" and "is seeking nuclear weapons."
"The danger is already significant and it only grows worse with time," Bush said in the speech delivered October 7, 2002. "If we know Saddam Hussein has dangerous weapons today -- and we do -- does it make any sense for the world to wait to confront him as he grows even stronger and develops even more dangerous weapons?"
Speaking on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania, Bush maintained Wednesday that the war was the right thing to do and that Iraq stood out as a place where terrorists might get weapons of mass destruction.
"There was a risk, a real risk, that Saddam Hussein would pass weapons or materials or information to terrorist networks, and in the world after September the 11th, that was a risk we could not afford to take," Bush said.
and this as well I suppose...in for a penny in for a pound http://articles.cnn.com/2011-02-20/politics/rumsfeld.interview_1_defense-secretary-donald-rumsfeld-obama-administration-curveball?_s=PM:POLITICS
If the Bush administration had known there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, it probably wouldn't have decided to invade in 2003, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said in an interview broadcast Sunday.
Speaking on CNN's "State of the Union" program, Rumsfeld noted there were multiple reasons for attacking Iraq and ousting Saddam Hussein from power.
However, intelligence reports -- now shown to have been false -- that Iraq possessed WMDs were the main reason for going in, Rumsfeld said.
"No question it was the big one," he said. Asked if the United States would not have invaded if the administration hadn't believed Iraq had the weapons of mass destruction, Rumsfeld said: "I think that's probably right."
He criticized the source known as "Curveball" -- an Iraqi defector who admitted his claims that Iraq possessed WMDs were false -- but stopped short of condemning the U.S. intelligence community."

You probably also wholeheartedly believe that dastardly Iran is building a nuclear program to threaten Israel and the US with :rofl Rather than because they are quaking in their boots as it's obvious they are going to the next target

Just send in Neall Ellis and his crew. In Sierra Leone he and his crew is famous for holding off RUF forces almost single-handedly, and the capital was only overrun after his Mi-24 Hind gunship broke down. The British also employed him and his crew for fire support during operation Barras, the hostage rescue operation in Sierra Leone.

Yes, I agree this must stop, Yes I forwarded the video to my principle at my school, and yes my school will hopefully be helping, but no I will not let our money we raise go to IC. I am going to do some research and find charities that send most (at least 90%) of the money to the cause. The video made by IC is great for opening eyes, but as been mentioned, IC is also using most of what they make to fund themselves and not help the Ugandan children. Anyone know of a responsible charity in which my school can send our money that we raise?

Honestly, no amount of charity money is going to lead to a quicker capture or elimination of Kony, anymore then it would have for Bin Laden. He is in hiding, and if his hiding place can be bought, then I'm sure the US intelligence services have already bought it. That is one of the several things that threw up a giant red flag for me on this IC charity. If that works, how come we didn't just have a big charity drive back in 2002 to find and kill Bin Laden.
The biggest killer of children and adults in central Africa is not warlords believe it or not. It's disease, AIDS, malaria, diptheria, yellow fever, malnutrition etc... The only African charities I know off the top of my head that are legit are Water.org (helps fund and develop clean water wells and systems) and Africare (which basically funds all kind of Peace Corp type projects). I'm sure there are many other though... find a charity where money goes direct to people on in Africa doing the work. The problem with so many charitable donations to Africa is that if the money goes through any kind of government agency, it just ends up lining the pockets of corrupt politicians and dictators.
Like others have said, eliminating ruthless warlords is all well and good, and there are plenty of them in around the world. But they are not the cause of central Africa's problems, they are a symptom.

We have our own problems in this country. I could care less what they do over there in Africa. That's the United Nations job. I have my own kids to worry about. If ya got a urge to save the world how about starting your own country first.
That's been my main argument since this Kony video went viral. What's really sad is the college I attend (private Christian) is pouring money to these guys, too. Invisible Children actually visited last year and put on some kind of show/demonstration, whatever it may have been (I didn't attend).

It's interesting, though. If we deem certain people to be intrinsically 'stupid' or 'lazy,' then is it their fault for being this way? It can't be- if they were born this way, so to speak, then clearly they cannot be blamed for their inabilites. However, if we are to expect people to adapt, innovate, and overcome, so to speak, then we cannot label an entire generation as intrinsically bad. It's contradictory. In addition, why should we believe that you are right? It IS true that our schools teach us what we know, and thus we cannot blame students for the school failing to provide an adequate education.

Lazy? Yes, that is a choice.
Stupid, often enough. Many have worked hard to get an education, or to learn what they need to survive. If someone is stupid based on being lazy, that then is a choice.
I am all for helping those who can't help themselves. Not for helping those who choose to rely on others rather than put out effort to survive and thrive.

I am all for helping those who can't help themselves. Not for helping those who choose to rely on others rather than put out effort to survive and thrive.
Re-read my post. I was talking about the idea of deeming them intrinsically lazy, i.e., that they didn't choose to be lazy. I know that's kinda wacky, but I'm trying to prove a point. Now, truth be told I've never met a person like that. I've met depressed people (they don't do too much of anything, especially in the later stages) I've met people whose brains are just not well-wired, but I've never met anyone who has the capability to work, a passion for something, and the desire to succeed just sit around. Maybe it's the lean, mean, fighting machine nature of New England (apparently, people are far nicer and more relaxed in other places) that prods them on, but I've never seen it.
We also have to define 'stupid'. If 'stupid' means of lower brain power, then 'stupid' people got a raw deal and do need help. If 'stupid' means ignorant of knowledge needed for financial success, then we have to take into account bad schools, but I can understand your frustration at those who had the opportunity but didn't take it. Given those limitations, I don't see how there could be enough 'stupid' people to really make a difference. Now, I admit, if someone who shouldn't be driving due to a brain defect in the area of reaction time is on the highway, I'd be royally ticked off, not to mention terrified. However, once I found out, and especially if they didn't know about it, then I'd forgive them. It's like being angry at someone for disturbing your birthday party by discovering that they had shellfish allergy.
Consequently, I must say that I don't believe in the idea of a healthy person who has had a stable upbringing and life up to the moment in question doing something that is against their self-interest or the good of the community if given the chance to really consider what they're about to do. This may or may not jibe with what you guys think, but you'd be surprised at how subtle the effects of mental disease can be. For example, ADD can make social interaction a living nightmare by making staying focused on what the other person has to say very, very difficult. An outside observer will think that the person with ADD is just 'stupid' or 'mean,' when in reality they're doing the best that they can and still getting pounded. To really get my bias across, I'd always play as the medic when my friends and I played soldier. Call me soft, but I like people.

I agree 100%. If you send food, money, shoes, or anything else to help people in other countries while people in your own neighborhood are in need of those very things, then there is something seriously wrong with you.

I'll be in Boston over the summer, and this sounds like an excellent way to do community service along the way. No-one would buy the robot, though. It can only do one thing and no-one wants them. I think volunteering at a homeless shelter and helping to bring more in would work out well. I don't have expensive clothes, though. The most lavish things I've got in that department are my dress clothes and foul weather gear. Most of what I have comes from Nike or Nautica. Thanks for the idea, though. If I can remember (shoot me a PM around 25 June) I'll do my best to find a place to do the volunteer work.
