I'm playing "Beat The Streak" On the MLB website..
The idea is to pick one or two batters every day in hopes that they'll get a hit. If they don't get a hit on that day, your streak resets to 0. The goal is to get a 57 hit streak.
My picks for April 4th were Jose Reyes (2 Singles) and Yadier Molina (Single, Double)
April 5th: Andre Ethier against Edinson Volquez (5.71ERA)
2 down, 55 to go!

Watching baseball is right up there with watching paint dry, except watching paint dry doesn't give me a headache.

Yeah, it does take a bit of intelligence to watch and understand baseball. :aok
Golf and bowling are the 2 sports I simply can not watch.
-
I like the club sandwich better but the philly is good too.

If you think a certain sport is boring, you don't know how to play it, or embarrassed yourself trying to. :aok

Still waiting for MY opening day:

Mud season has begun, no offroad in most areas around me until June 1. :(
As to the "intelligence" required to watch a baseball game, you are indoors watching a kids game being played outdoors. And yell as you may, you are not actually affecting the outcome, nor the decisions. :D
I agree with dago, but he did leave out the two you quoted loon. All of those are not easy to watch at home. At least baseball is tolerable at the park, once the loan goes through for the finacial bath you take to do it.

Those were my favorite signs to see when I was up there.
That doesn't mean the roads are closed, though, does it?
Also, I have to concur about the financial bath part...

No, there are other signs that the towns post, quoting RSA's. That was the one I had a pic of though. :)
It is not a law, but towns have the right to do this and that, one of those things is closing at certain (or all) times. I prefer to follow those signs rather than be the cause of the road being closed to wheeled vehicles for good.
I can go center state and find some roads though, I just personally don't get into the mud season thing, ruts up the roads, then the greenies come screaming, and the road is closed. So, even the ones where it is "okay" I will not go until it is far more dry out there. At this rate, with the light winter and lack of rain, we will be out on those by May at the latest.

Plenty of time to watch baseball, then :aok

So you don't watch it either I take it? :D
Takes a lot of smarts to watch a pitcher throw balls, batters miss, and a lot of guys spitting. Yeah, real Mensa stuff.

Blue Jays won the opener in Cleveland, they also set a record for the longest opening day game in Baseball history. Oh ya, and Bautista hit a home run in his first game. Beware Eastern division!

I lol'd at Bautista in the Home Run Derby last year.

Did you LoL at him leading the major leagues 2 years in a row? I know I did.

Nationals beat the Cubs! We are going all the way.

No, I lol'd at him coming in last place in the 2011 Home Run Derby :D :neener:
Watching the Phillies beat the Nats in the Nats home park is always fun.. my uncle has season tickets there that he never uses.

GO REDLEGS!! :x

Anyone else see the Rays completely demolish Mariano Rivera? I did :D
This is gonna be a great season

GO REDLEGS!! :x
I can't believe they sent Frazier to the minors, he was beast in spring. Heisley needs to start instead of Ludwick (sp) and Cozart is going to win ROTY and Bruce is going to win MVP. Curious to see Meseraco (sp) and that rookie pitcher. Gonna be a good season if SPers don't suck it up.
-
Frazier will be back up eventually. I was actually surprised to see Cozart batting 2nd yesterday but he did ok there. I'd still like to see Stubbs leading off and Phillips in the 2 hole but we'll see. I'm gonna believe that Dusty is doing the right thing with Ludwick and Heisey, until one or the other gets hot. If you're referring to Leake ("that rookie pitcher") I was pleasantly surprised to see him make the opening day roster also.
BTW, did you see that Chapman vs. Reyes at-bat in the 8th? SICK! :rock Hope he can keep throwin' like that.
-
Frazier will be a monster Utility guy until Rolen retires. Chapmans entire inning was sick. I think he will be starting by seasons end. Leake will be a great pitcher in 4-5 years. They drafted a dude named Robert Stephenson supposed to be good. Rumor is he will make his pro debut this year, we'll see. Reds have a great farm system so developing him a couple years might be a good idea. Lookin forward to this season. Got embarrassed last year hopefully they got there shtuff together this year.

Anyone been watching Freddy Galvis? He's only played 30 games in Triple A straight from Single A, and now he's the Phillies starting second baseman... He's also never played second base, only short stop.

Now what happens if (although highly unlikely) this guy becomes as good as Utley by the time he gets back? That would be funny.

Most likely not his offense, but his defense is already up there with some of the best. :aok
