If anyone is interested. Newegg.com has Seagate 500GB, 7200 RPM
internal SSD's for $69.00.

Yeah those are somewhat misleading unless you really read the real scoop on them. The drives only have a 4GB SSD built into them. Still it is a good deal on a decent drive but if you are looking for a true SSD I would steer clear.
HYBRID HARD DRIVE
Designed with high-performance core components on an innovative platform, the Seagate Momentus XT solid state hybrid drive consists of a 7200-RPM hard drive with 32MB of cache, 4GB of solid state SLC NAND flash storage, and Adaptive Memory technology, delivering an 80 percent faster performance than traditional 7200RPM hard drives.

the current hybrid drives aren't too bad. haven't tried a desktop model recently but i have a laptop with one in it and the performance is noticeable. still not as good as a full ssd though.

Ah cool, thanks. I saw SSD and figured it
was a good deal considering other prices I've seen.

SSDs never have RPM readings, they're solid state :)

I prefer having a separate SSD & 2TB Conventional. If one fails, replace it & don't crash everything together.IMO :salute
I am using Crucial without any complaints & the price is right....
