Instead of having ENY as a side balance. I suggest that the winning country of any given map has to fly all midwar ac for the next map and if they win twice in a row early, war ac for the next. In the event they win three maps in a row, they get their Late war ac back for the following map with free perk rides for that map. After that the cycle repeats. I also suggest we keep the ENY as a perk point multiplier as it is now.
Just an Idea so flame on haters (coombzy I mean you since I know your opinion already) :t

It's so obvious there is no need to explain why.

LOL No I'm not making that assumption. I was a bish at one time and some of the best missions we flew were the Ju87 missions with early war ac as fighter escort. I do think this idea is a game changer and a beneficial one at that. Any large squad can horde with 51ds and 38ls with other fighters mixed in. Imagine the level of difficulty increasing though if ya up late war ac against mid war ac. I know that a lot of squads would welcome the challenge. If they won again imagine the motivation they would have to win with early war AC to get free perk rides on the next map. I mean wow what a side balancer this idea would be :) OH and von color your kolaid negitve Nancy trools any way you want to, I still like the idea
-
I think most of the population would get so buthurt over not being able to fly P-51s and Tempests that they would just leave

Just because you like an idea does not mean that it is a good one, nor does it mean that I am being negative because I do not like it.
You extol all the benefits of a change like this but you do not address any of the negatives of it. A good salesman would do both. Your pitch lacks realism. Are we all supposed to believe that your idea is so awesome in nature that there are not any drawbacks associated with it? A good salesman knows the strengths and weaknesses of his product.
What you idea tells me is that I can, at any given time, log on to a map where my plane set is limited due to the actions or tactics of others that have been playing throughout the day, before I get home from work and have a chance to play. In essence, the type of aircraft available to me at any given time is possibly hamstrung dependent upon how others have chosen to play while I was not logged on and through none of my own actions. In addition, if I have already switched sides within the past 12 hours, I am stuck with one particular chess-piece. Basically I have to "ride it out" until my 12 hours is up or the map is won, etc.
In what way does this benefit game-play? Once again, it would only be a tool used to dictate the playing style of paying subscribers.

Well apparently you have had the time to post all day :) I haven't seen anything you have said as a detractor from the Idea if you are married to your 51d and are a ace flier then the 12 hour rule doesn't apply to you as you will change countries for the duration of the map thus balancing the sides( much like fester or tosh does already). Heck I see this idea as a great improvement to the game just cause Von thinks it wouldn't be;)

Fantastic fallacy gumbo! Red Herring mixed with a bit of straw-man and a dash of personal attack. :aok :aok
Are you willing to argue your point, or just point fingers and be facetious?
I have flown a P51 less than 10 times in the past 5 years. I have never claimed to be an ace flier. What do Fester or Tosh have to do with your idea?
Sell your idea. Have you ever purchased a specific product at a specific price because "The salesman said it was a good idea" ?
I have listed my reason and I can do it again, just to reiterate:
This idea limits the type of aircraft available to me at any given time dependent upon how others have chosen to play while I was not logged on and through none of my own actions. It punishes all, for the hording and/or base grabbing antics of other players. If some squad wins the map while I am sleeping, how will it benefit game play for the folks that were sleeping to have a hamstrung plane-set when they wake-up while the players that precipitated the truncated plane-set are now asleep (just one of many scenarios)?
-
wow no personal attacks there von.
How will it improve game play you ask? it will give people the opportunity to fly ac they have never flown before
They will get free perk rides, also giving them opportunity's they have never had before and thus promoting the game to new players.
It will balance sides out better than the current eny system does.

By definition, that is a personal attack fallacy. You commented upon my time available for posting (Red Herring) tried to use what you believed to be personal knowledge of my gameplay habits as a point to argue against (personal attack) and then bringing Fester and Tosh into the mix (straw man)

So by default, without this implementation you propose, people can't earn perks and will never get the opportunity to fly perk rides? That is what your statement implies.
They will get free perk rides, also giving them opportunity's they have never had before and thus promoting the game to new players.
What opportunities do "they" not have right now and how? How will these formerly unavailable opportunities promote the game to new players? How will this promotion work? Will it be part of HTC's next marketing campaign? If so, you did not outline that in your plan.
It will balance sides out better than the current eny system does.
You have stated this a few times, now. You have failed to elaborate on one aspect of it and that is the mechanics of how this will balance game play.
-

How will it improve game play you ask? it will give people the opportunity to fly ac they have never flown before nothing or nobody has denied me the opportunity to fly aircraft I havent flown before
They will get free perk rides, also giving them opportunity's they have never had before and thus promoting the game to new players. if a new player cannot get kills on a spit, what makes you think he can get kills in a 190 or a 109 or the p47.
It will balance sides out better than the current eny system does. nope, players will either log of switch to other countries.
actually I dont really care to fly most airplanes on the plane set. your wish is similar to that of "bring back the night". you will force players either to switch to other countries or log.

Von I'm not sure what dog you have in this hunt since you very rarely actually fly in the ma now days?????
Ill state it clearly for you and you can disagree if ya want.
countries that win now days do it through hordes. Players are either dedicated to that country or they are not.
If you are a horde country then you are not penalized by a reduction in the short term of midwar ac but rather rewarded with free perk rides after you have won three maps.
Benefits include a range of ac that most of the hoarders cant afford normally and the opportunity afforded to other players to shoot said inexperienced flyers down thus earning great perks for themselves.
This is a side balancer and if you are suggesting that squads like the Jokers Jokers, Alchemist, and the Vs couldn't still operate at the same level of base taking they do now well then you have a very selfish one sided point of view.
Why should I be punished for what my team does you ask??? Your not your free to go to the other late war enabled countries.
This Idea was not about punishing anyone but making it more fun for all. I've been part of those chewie hordes when I was a new player and my bigest complaint was that there was nothing to shot .
-
surfin, do you actually believe that you have a great idea? because I am more ready to believe you are just messing around.

This Idea was not about punishing anyone but making it more fun for all. Regardless of what your intentions are it's still going to punish players for winning a war. I've been part of those chewie hordes when I was a new player and my bigest complaint was that there was nothing to shot. No one is forcing you to participate in Chewie's missions. It's a game, so the point is to have fun in whatever way you can. Your wish would interfere with what I consider to be fun (Flying my 109G14 in the LWMA)

Define rare from your perspective, please.
What exactly is a horde country?
Do they not have the opportunity that everyone else has to earn perks?

I'm not sure I have ever been affected by ENY when choosing a plane.
-
ok it must be a bad idea there are no supporters so disregard this post. :salute

80% of the game population couldn't fly anything higher than 5 eny so I doubt this ENY System would change.
Imagine the cry babies that had to change from a 51D to a C.205?

Another point of view. I don’t like it, I pay my $14.99 and want to fly what I want to fly. Not be limited because other’s could or could not work corporately and now I’m limited with no option. I don’t change sides because I fly as part of a mission oriented squad that has never changed sides. However, your idea may be fun for you and there is nothing stopping you for playing exactly how you want. You do have a choice, you might start a trend, impose your new set of game rules on yourself and see how it goes.

As someone who knows Surfinnn quite well, I will tell you all that he flies, almost exclusively, 25 -30 eny planes. So I for one would say it goes quite well for him. Ever met up with him in his FM2????? And since this is only a wishlist thread I am certain he's not trying to impose a "new set of rules" on anybody.

But if you read his wish, that's exactly what he is asking for, a new set of game rules that would control what everyone's ride might be.

How on earth do you see just your country as being everyone??
My request actually benefits base taking countries. Its only the truly inept that have to fly 51ds and spit 16s all the time that would see this wish as a punishment instead of a a gain. Its a per map occurrence I'm talking about not a per tour occurrence. And oh I take back my earlyer statement I still think its a good idea.

surfinn so if the rooks win the war then they fly early war planes. then the bishops win the war, then they bishops fly early war planes. then the knights win the war, so now you have all 3 countries flying early war planes.
my question is why not just avoid the hassle and have an early war arena? heck might as well add a mid war arena too. that way all of those who are really awesome players can just go to the early war or mid war arena and while those of us dweebs who can only fly p51's and spit16's can just have our own arena.

I'm sorry but I guess I have to explain the idea in minute detail or your all being deliberately obtuse.
so here goes
Country A wins a map: They fly mid war ac next map.
Country A wins a second map: They fly early war ac for the next map.
Country A wins a third map: They get free perk rides for that map. FREE PERK RIDES, IE FREE 262s ETC.
Country A wins a fourth map (No advantage all settings return to default)
If at any time in that chain, another country wins the map then the following map resets to all ac and the drive to get to three maps in a row resumes.
Oh and no where in this are you forced to fly a certain plane set. You have the freedom of choice to change country's if you are to inept to fly midwar to early war ac.

and that's why your idea is going to fail. because you will force a lot of players to switch countries because they cant fly the airplanes you want. and surfinn you arent that good in your midwar airplane unless you have friends with you :).

"and that's why your idea is going to fail. because you will force a lot of players to switch countries because they cant fly the airplanes you want. and surfinn you arent that good in your midwar airplane unless you have friends with you ."
Because I WILL FORCE A LOT OF PLAYERS TO SWITCH COUNTRIES. I think I made it quite clear I wasn't forcing anyone to do anything in this post. It actually gives players freedoom of choice.
THE AIRPLANES I WANT believe me the last thing I want to see is a bunch of opposing FM2s.
The last part coming from you is just well, heck i don't even know what to say about it other than the community knows me and how I fly semp. Which is mainly solo.
I think some of you lame dedicated 51d and spit16 people are under the mistaken opinion, that all of the community is just like you. I think our community is much more versatile than that and could benefit from a progression of new ideas and game play instead of being the brunt of the same old same old that players like you represent.

Scrap ENY for all. Good sticks will be good in 262's or equally good in a P 40c.
Bad sticks will be bad in a Spit 16 as much as in an F4u4or 262.
Believe me, whatever the eny state I can crash 262's and Spit 1's with equal aplomb.
Yet again it comes down to the virtual plane driver, and not the virtual plane :joystick:

No.
It doesn't come down to the best stick irrespective of aircraft?
-
It doesn't come down to the best stick irrespective of aircraft?
No.
That's an extremely simplifying point of view as wrong as say "it's only the plane". In fact it's both. Or do you think I'm posing the same threat to the enemy when flying a I-16 as when I'm flying a Tempest? ;)
No, I'm not. The Tempests speed, firepower, flight time, accelaration, climb do make a world of a difference, and that's basically why I currently have a K/D of 23 in Tempest vs 4 in I-16. In a I-16 I'm much more limited, almost every fighter is faster (and thus can disengage more easy), many of those faster fighters do even turn better than me and so on. I can't even catch most bombers in AH in that fighter!
In the end, it's the combination of pilot skill and plane performance. A better performing plane is like a better tool. If we were to express it mathematically, it's (pilot skill x plane performance) vs (pilot skill x plane performance). And the more similar the pilot skill of the opponents is, the more important the plane performance envelope will become (and vice versa)
-
And yet your k/d of 4 in an Il6 is better than 80% of players in whatever they coose, irrespective of eny.
Eny would never be bad enough to give you only that option to fly, and by definition the enemy you are fighting it against, and apparently killing, has less eny restriction than you do :headscratch:
-
And yet your k/d of 4 in an Il6 is better than 80% of players in whatever they coose, irrespective of eny
I don't dispute that, but it's still showing how much of a difference the plane makes. The I-16 is simply not as capable as the Tempest. the C.202 is simply not as capable as the Spitfire 16.
And as the arena is not just about pure dogfighting, it even goes further: The BF 110C is not as capable as the BF110G when it comes to noe basegrab missions.

I think ENY should kick in harder and faster. Like when there are low numbers in the game and everyone complains :devil As it is now it barely hurt the team with the numbers advantage. As long as the hordes are around, the harder the ENY should hit.
-

Not a bad idea.
Most of the planes that I fly aren't usually affected by ENY anyhow, but the whines would be much better and more entertaining if ENY kicked in faster and harder
-
ENY as it stands is useless. My idea was a modification to the system that might actually balance sides. Course that's hard to do with a 12 hour side switch.
