Title: TACLOBAN TANGO FRAME 1 SUMMARY
Post by: Nefarious on October 07, 2012, 05:29:33 PM
The Allied Ace was Drano of the 412th FNVG, He was representing: Colonel Charles MacDonald (USAAF) – MacDonald arrived in Dobodura, New Guinea in October, 1943 and scored 4 victories that month. He became an ace on November 9th 1943. While commanding the 475th FG in the Philippines he shot down 13 enemy aircraft from Nov 10th 1944 to January 1st 1945. MacDonald would score his final victory March 13th1945, bringing his total score to 27. Charles MacDonald passed away in March, 2003.

Drano failed to shoot down any enemy aircraft in his P-38J. He landed successfully at the end of the frame.

The Axis Ace was TxCoyote of the LCA He was representing: Lt Commander Ayao Shirane (IJN) – Shirane was a veteran of the carrier battles of Midway, the Eastern Solomons, and Santa Cruz. In July of 1944 he was given command of the 401st Sqaudron of the Yokosuka Air Group flying the new N1K Shinden (George). In October 1944 he took his squadron to Luzon where they saw immediate action. Shirane was shot down and killed by P-38s from the 433rd FS on November 24th 1944. He had 9 aerial victories.

While flying his N1K2-J TxCoyote shot down one F4U-1D flown by bonanza of G3-MF. TxCoyote was later shot down by Wiley of the VMF-222 Flying Deuces and captured by the Allies.

Allied Ace Mission: 20 Points (For shooting down Axis Ace)
Axis Ace Mission: 0 Points

Allied Pilots: 160
Axis Pilots: 154

Allied Kills: 159
Axis Kills: 96

Allied Assists: 134
Axis Assists: 55

Allied Objects Destroyed: 117 (2x Cruisers, 3 Destroyers)
Axis Objects Destroyed: 114 (2x Cruisers)

Congratulations to AkGreyga (Arabian Knights) for being the top allied scorer with 8 kills. MAD1 (G3-MF) had the most objects destroyed with 29. The Allied shipkillers were:

Slayer (Jokers Jokers) - C79 Cruiser
Rodent57 (G3-MF) - C75 Cruiser
klipper (G3-MF) - C75 Destroyer
bonanza (G3-MF) - C75 Destroyer
TKO (Jokers Jokers) - C79 Destroyer

Congratulations to Hopper (III/JG11), NanoDoom (LCA) and FBLazy1 (FREEBIRDS) for a three way tie of 4 kills for the Axis and Oaktree (353rd FG) for having the most objects destroyed on the Axis side with 10. The Axis shipkillers were:

Goat1 (353rd FG) - C84 Cruiser
jk (CLAIM JUMPERS) - C83 Cruiser

----

While reviewing the logs, the only CV that was sunk was C79 by the Allies. It was sunk AFTER the Cruiser from C79 was sunk. Therefore it will not count towards the score for the Allies.

The Allies really conquered the skies, in which they shot down more planes than Axis pilots! VF-17 really dominated and racked up nearly 1/3 of the Allied kills when it came across the G4M1s of the Claim Jumpers. Congrats to VF-17 for an outstanding performance with 43 kills and 40 assists while only losing 6 of 20 aircraft.

Doesnt count because it was destroyed after the cruiser?

I think hes saying that it wont count since it wasnt supposed to be a target, but the cruiser was sunk anyways.  Maybe if the cruiser had survived, and the CV was sunk, maybe we would get credit for the cruiser?

The objectives were written that the TFs were to only contain Cruisers and Destroyers. Obviously that wasn't the case for every TF due to setup error in them not being destroyed before the start of the frame. The main objectives of C79 had been attacked and the CV was the last ship in that group to be destroyed.

There was different reasons why I went this way. Had the Japanese sunk a CV, or every TF on both sides had a CV I might have counted it. Things like this happen in FSO, and changes need to be made to scoring; this is my decision and this is how it will be scored.

Oh I see. Well do you think that CV cost any lives? Should we be refunded?

Because you decide to pick fights with everyone else. Keep in mind this is Nefarious' setup and he makes the rules. If you failed to read the rules again that isn't his fault.

I am 45 minutes north of the Burgh.  Where I-79 & I-80 intersect.  By the Grove City Outlet Mall to be exact.  I don't think I can pull off tickets in this short notice but I may be able to man a post at your tailgate.  I'll check to see if that it trick or treat night or if I can make that.  Sounds like fun.  I'd bring food for that occasion.  I'll shoot you a PM in the next day or two if you don't mind.
