Doesn't work for me either.  MSIE.  Maybe because you put spaces in the folder name?  Try it without spaces or something.

Good eye, eagle!

yep, the "20%" is being automatically filled in ... in the URL! I bet that is what's causing
it to say it is broken or not working.... kind of get the same thing when downloading/saving. PDF file
with spaces in the file name

TC

edit: it's not a space ... Most times it is the _ (underscore) that causes the auto fillin with the 20%

The R/T badge in the grill tells you it has a hemi... a 5.7l hemi

Gray... how would a couple car seats fit in the back seat? I've been eying the challengers more and more ever since your other thread. But with a 2 year old son and a baby on the way I wonder how big of a PITA it would be to get them in and out of the back seat.

2-door car with kids = PITA.  No question about it no matter how huge those doors are.  Wait until the first time you try loading your kids in through the window because people parked too close on both sides and you can't get the kids in through the open door...  Been there done that   :furious  :bhead , sold the firebird   :cry  and bought a G8 (really a 4-door firebird with an australian accent)   :rock

Get a Charger if you need 4 doors, it's the same chassis.  Just like a G8 and a Camaro, except they killed the G8 :cry

Beautiful car.

Was looking at one, but my credit history isn't long enough.  :(
Tested or just what you think?

Somehow, I had a good credit score coming out of Highschool. When I started looking for my car, we thought I wouldn't have any credit, but when the first dealer ran a report I had a great score for someone my age. Non of us could figure out how or where it came from though lol.

Nice car! At first I didn't really like them, but they seem to be growing on me. However, I would still take a mustang first. Is it pure red or are there accents?

On the color: it's the 3-coat pearl redline color ..has a definite metallic component and a bit of pearl accent where the sun hits it.

On back seat: It's gonna be a hassle with any 2 door gettin kids in an out ..the room is there though unless you and your wife are 6' or more.
(it's a wide back seat, had 3 teenage grandkids back there and my son-in-law in passenger seat when we let the smoke out of the back tars for laffs, off a stoplight :)
Once the kids are old enough that you can just point and say 'get in' ..yer golden :)

Tellin ya .. ima get arrested in this beast ..it's too much FUN :D

On 'hemi' badges ..there's two on the hood.
Thinkin of adding one along with the R/T sticker on the spoiler in back also.

To me, the car looks best in red......congratulations.

Despite the awesome color, the challenger was no match for "Gadge Zoomer" in "the great car wrestling match" held in 1967.

re: how they sound .. they are more quiet than a church mouse stock. Pitiful.

However ..you can remove the mufflers *and* the resonators ..one pair at a time .. to setup the sound you want.
Tons of youtube video's to listen to and it doesn't cost anywhere near as much as a cat back system for a Vette.

ie: muffler shop can swap in some straight pipes for the mufflers or resonators .. ~50 bucks.
Turbo muffler replacements for that classic rumbly sound from Thrush .. $27 ea from Summit Racing.
Vette cat back from B&B ~$1100 ...system plus install.

Heck people are even puttin Cherry Bomb glass packs on 'em :)

It's *wonderful* to be out from under the 'Vette' Tax!

Cut the muffler(S) out of the midpipes, but leave the ones at the back intact.  I had a Magnum Hemi R/T and that mod was done for $129.  The sound was pretty nice: throaty but not too loud.  Do that first before spending $$$ on a catback.

The only drawback is when cruising in 5th gear, the cylinder deactivation causes a minor drone sound.  Wasn't too bad with my setup but the louder your mufflers, the worse the drone will be.  There might be an electronic workaround for that though.

cherry bombs will sound good. with cats still in place, they won't be obnoxiously loud, but they'll still have that classic sound they're known for. i almost went for something like that on my car, but to be honest, i don't want anything that loud anymore.

The new Caddy's are awesome cars .. they also cost about twice what the Challenger R/T does (60k range)

And aye .. was thinkin removin the mufflers first because that looks like the easiest to do for a muffler shop..
..then workin from there if it's not animal enough :)

In the 'interesting bits' that pop up now an then ..

Went over and started perusing the Challenger web site (ChallengerZ or some such)
..met a few of the Arizona crazies at the Pavillions who post there ..
..
..
..then got a PM on the website .. from Soup no less.

Soup from AW lives in Phx Metro area and has a Maggie-blown Challenger.
Ima hafta harass him for a ride in that beast .. soon :)

Man I haven't seen him since the Bop-Con when he got his new Mustang stolen.
Same Bop-Con I hammered Hardrock in a Zeke duel after he won the tournament there -evil grin-

The Black stripes make the car ugly IMO.   Every one here has em, I prefer the "Decal Delete" package on them as I find it enhances the look of it.    I see badges on the hood.

We've found the challenger to be faster in the standing mile than a Camarillo of the same horsepower.

just stay away from E15 gas;  i understand Chrysler among many car manufactures doesn't cover any engine/emission warranties for E15 users.

"Flying mile" is done on the salt because of the lack of traction.

I don't know of any timing association that does "standing mile" on the salt.

If anybody wants to certify a "standing mile" on the salt, I will gladly pack up the tag/heuer timing I use to certify records in my capacity as an officer of a "standing mile" timing association.

At this time, it is prohibitively expensive so we work primarily with RCR and team audi's lemans arm.

We are working on using the category definitions that SCTA uses and applying them to runway racing since some records are soft and might be beatable on either our 2 mile or 3 mile venue.

Frank I must applaud your good taste in choice of automobiles.

I installed a Corsa exhaust on mine.  Great Hemi rumble at idle....when into throttle it roars.

Soup sent me a couple pics of his...he was installing a supercharger...dunno if done yet, should be.

I made many a ford owner cry in there soup when the Challenger smoked em......matter of fact the only cars to beat my Challenger was a 440 Cuda.....and another Cuda (not sure what it had for motor)  and one other car that I dont know what it was(went by to fast)

out in Arizona a Torino tried to keep up....haha was a sad day for him.....

I should go find some old Nascar and see how bad the torino's got smoked by the Roadrunners and daytona's.

yes it could....I tested it :D

1500 miles in 18 hrs.....(doing 120+most of the time)

3000 miles in 68 hours.....

6 years of testing and the only thing I "broke" was a torsion bar out in Arizona(besides crashing it once)....the transmission was bad when I bought it, didn't have 1st gear, yet I still drove it cross country and back on that 904....once I put in the 727 :O

Stock R/Ts are running as good as 12.6 in the quarter with stickies on the rear.  Tha'ts a 345 cu. in engine without a supercharger.
GE can back that up.  Now......I wonder what the new 6.4 Hemi SRT at 470HP will do (the 394) against a factory supercharged car???
2012s can't be tuned yet.  2011 tuning just became available at SEMA.

The same old same old 40 year discussions LOL.  All I know is....Hemi has been the standard bearer since the mid 60s.
I do know that at top end the Hemis will keep on going when the Mustangs and Camaros have reached their limit.

These discussions are always fun and biased.  LOL Next year something else

First question always...."Have a Hemi in it?"

And may I remind you I spanked an SS Camro in my widdle old R/T.  426 HP badged under the SS badge on  the fenders.
With my widdle old 345 cu. in Hemi and a heavier car with a 6 speed versus his auto.  Camaro was a beautiful car too!

I like all brands....but I love MOPARS.  Take a look at the NHRA classes....you'll see MOPARS at the top.

BTW hajo......like you, i love em all. v8 and fast,........just my preference happens to be fords. it's fun like this. would be more fun face to face, a room full of us eating, and drinking talking about this stuff and bench racing.....but this'll have to cut it for now.

 happy new year guys!

Cap I couldn't agree more.  Bunch of us car guys having a few Beers and bantering.  Nothing like being around a bunch of car guys.
We all have the same thing in common, the love of american muscle.  I can't believe that started about 50 years ago.  Boy......
time sure does fly by fast.  All my friends in the mid to late 60s to early 70s had a variety of american muscle from Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers
Chargers, Vettes and one car you don't hear much about anymore.....the AMX.  What a sweet car that was!  Was fun then and still is fun now.
Thanks to Ford and the Mustang.....the debate and the fun continues.  Without ford reintroducing the new Mustang, there would be no Camaro
or Challenger!

for me, the cool thing is i get to live it in the present this time. i was born in 62, so although i've worked on, driven, souped up, destroyed, mangled, and mutilated all of the cool 60's stuff.....i didn't get to actually "be there" in the hayday. this time around, thanks to gm, chrysler, and ford, i do.
when i was a kid, i REALLY wanted a boss302. every so often, i keep thinking i should've held out, waited a bit, and not bought my gt, so i could save a bit extra to get my boss. then i go out, fire her up, listen to that sweet rumble, and realize i made the right choice.

the sad part is that in 20 years they may be talking about electric hot rods(i just got the shivers typing that, lol)

Even Pontiac had a nice one in the GTO, love the 67. Did they drop the ball on that one when they brought that name back.

Ya.....they dropped it bigtime Fugi.  They called a box a GTO.  It was a very feeble attempt by Pontiac to sell a box with 4 wheels.
Pontiac lost their way somewhere.  They were a forerunner in muscle.  I have no idea what happened to Pontiac to cause the end
of that brand.

I've always liked GTOs........one of my best friends Robbie Saare had one, 69 with a 400 in it.  Beautiful car.  I've always been partial
to the 389 with tri-power. Another buddy of mine Denny had a 69 also....convertible.  Dark green with white interior.  Absolutely gorgeous!  Remember the
Tach on the hood? Both of them had the tach on the hood.  I at that time had a Plymouth Sport Fury Conv. with a 383 and 4.33 rear end.  What a great time in automobile history.
Mustang had the Mach I,  Camaro had the RS/SS.  Hemis, 427 Chevys and Fords.....my favorite Ford engine was the 428 Cobra.  I thought
the 428 was better then both the ford 427 and 429.  You'll probably think I'm crazy I thought the chevy 327 was their best engine.  More HP per cu/in and reliable.
Even Olds got into the muscle car business with the 442....not really fast but quick enough for a luxury muscle car.  Buick had the Gran Sport etc.  Great days!

The 406 and 427 engines are the kings of the ford fe big blocks.

I would trade my 1967 high nickel content block "cobra lemans" trim 428 for any complete running 406 or 427 regardless of trim level in a millesecond.

Anyone know how to turn off the iphone5 autocorrect?

It turns eloquent and "science correct" prose into the bs that passes as English.

pontiacs back then i think were the top of the line performers from gm. i'm not quite sure how chevy ended up getting that sopt, since pontiacs generally slapped them around as if they were fords. maybe it was the fact the pontiac kept using friggin white interiors? :noid

 :rofl

not sure...was an older one.....but honestly....... I didn't slow down to talk to him. :neener:

but in all reality the driver is who you are racing...(like it is in ah its not the plane you fight so much but the pilot)....I was in a 86 trans am once(fastest it would go was 115) and raced a new Mustang.....he took right off but because he wouldn't do what I did I ended up smoking him.....he didn't want to hit the breakdown lane at 110 mph....while I didn't hesitate.

I used to race flying mile on the exact same road we used to access "everglades jetport where we set the standing mile record 30 years later.

Many of my friends still laugh remembering thier spin into the sawgrass and water.

I remember ..
..workin on a survery crew out of town all weekend out in the boonies of AZ/New Mexico
Comin back to town after a hard week..
Friday afternoon/evenin cleanin up the copper metallic '67 Hemi GTX that was waitin in my driveway..
..cruisin Saturday on Central Avenue.

The 2nd week I had the car I took all the Hemi badges off.
People would come up to a light and stop a car length back..
..there were exceptions ..now an then.

A blown Pontiac Judge fulla crazies yellin 'Mopar is NoCar' etc..
..damn if he didn't get me by a fender .. and we went for it off five different stoplights in a row :)
Pulled into the Library parkin lot on McDowell and he tells me there weren't many
cars in Phoenix that stayed with him nearly as well as ol' GTX did :)
We ogled each other's rides ..
he was shakin his head ..wonderin what that 426 would be like with his blower on it.
I told him it would need a lot more tire in the back and we both laughed ..ohh yaaaa.

I met a nice lady at the Pavs a few weeks ago ..
..her and her husband drove their black/red interior
'67 Hemi GTX convertible in .. we both ogled each others rides :)
She lamented the fact that they didn't drive it much anymore ..
..it got 8mpg .. I laughed ..told her my GTX averaged 4mph on a night down Central :)

Yes. . the good times are here.
Sittin at a lite next to another Challenger the other day..he revs it !!
We 'raced' to the opposite crosswalk .. I ..umm ..smoked him.
Old habits die hard ..when he revved it I switched feet-pedals and got ready
..all the old school tricks :)
Of course Kathy said 'Don't you DARE!'
As If.
Was very much gone on him when green showed.
He waved and turned left at the next light.
Good times :)

Ya ..it's got a Hemi :)

Red Hemi Challenger .. I mean .. what's not to like?
Kind of the paradigm for musclecar ..yanno?

Now all it needs is a Dana 60 in the back swingin on a 4-link, a shiny blower thru the hood with a good lookin scoop,
..and big tars tubbed out the back to hook it :)
