I would like a button in the tower that will randomize a combination of plane, fuel and ord load-out. If you use the button and complete an objective the resulting perks with be doubled.
But to get the extra perks you must complete the mission or get shot down doing so. Missions will be based on the plane type picked... ie. P-39 with bomb and 37 mm gun. "Hit town with bomb and deack 6 guns"
or a A6M3 50% fuel + drop tanks. "Take out 2 eny fighters"
or a Typhie with rockets. "Drop ords and Dar at a small air field"
If you dont complete the mission or you bail/ditch/crash/die without enemy action then the button would be locked out for 30 mins. this would stop people hitting it over and over again until they get what they want.
Perk planes would not be included.

Ya know what.. that's not bad at all!
:aok

It adds a bit of objective to the game. +1

Had the same thought a while back: This is indeed a brilliant idea fish, lots of potential for fun!
Though I thought it would work better for a sort of free to play system.
So you didn't get to chose the plane you wanted, you were just randomized a plane out of the non-perks at fields near/where action was until you subscribed.

While you're waiting for this wish to be implemented, go grab some six-sided dice out of your Monopoly set and roll like this:
Roll One:
1 = American, 2 = British, 3 = German, 4 = Russian, 5 = Finnish, Italian, 6 = Roll Again
If you roll a 5, then roll again. 1 or 2 = Brewster, 3 or 4 = C202, 4 or 5 = C205. Go fly.
Roll Two:
1 or 2 = Fighter, 3 or 4 = Attack, 5 or 6 = Bomber
Roll Three:
If you get Fighter, 1, 2, or 3 = Single Engine and 4, 5, or 6 = Twin Engine.
If Attack, 1 or 2 = Single Engine, 3 or 4 = Twin Engine, 5 or 6 = GV.
If you get Bomber, 1 or 2 = Single Engine, 3 or 4 = Twin Engine, 5 or 6 = Four Engine
If the combination you rolled doesn't exist (i.e. Jap twin-engine fighter), then either roll again or up the closest match.
Roll Four:
If GV, 1 and 2 = Tank, 3 or 4 = M8, M18, M3 with the 75mm, or 251 with rockets, 5 = Wirb, Ostie, or M16MGMC, 6 = Jeep, 251, or M3 with supplies.
For all other results of Roll Three, assign a number value for each of the possibilities in that category. Roll as many D6 as necessary to account for the result. Example: You rolled a single engine German fighter. Roll two dice, 1-11 equals the corresponding fighter, 12 = Roll again.
If you rolled an attack aircraft that can carry a combination of bombs and rockets, roll one more time. 1 or 2 = Bombs only, 3 or 4 = Rockets only, 5 or 6 = Bombs and Rockets. If you have different choices for bombs, then assign a number value to each choice and roll.
If you rolled a bomber that can carry different loadouts, assign a number value to each loadout and roll.
In all cases of an outlying number, roll again.
Sounds like a blast to me!!! ;)

you have waay too much time on your hands to even figure that out let alone type it

Our local skydiving festival incorporates this same system into the sign that indicates which shower tent is for men and which is for women. Everyone seems to love it.

D'oh! :bhead
Ok, so for version 1.1...

If you have this system it with a perk incentive, you will be able to show newer players other aspects of the game they might know about & you will give some older hands a challenge.
You could even set up optional mission briefings, that show how to do each mission.
Something along these lines... But more WW2 and with Paper maps and photos replacing the 3d models of each target and aircraft you have been assigned.

This will give a gold for new players to aim for. maybe even have a variable difficulty that adjusts the perk multiplier and the missions that will be given.
So a new player could select an "Easy" mission and would get a Ki-61 with bombs to kill 1 radar tower. On "Medium", that same plane would be asked to drop Radar & ords on a small field. "Hard" could be Drop radar & ords on a large field and obtain a kill.
If they where given a P51 with rockets and bombs then "easy" could be ramped up as the plane would be over matched for the mission. so Medium and hard would shuffle down 1 level and a new hard could be 3 kills over the new Mediums 1 kill.

I facklering LOVE this idea.

That is a strange request, but it might extend the interest in Aces High for the novice player.
Not that I care about the war winning, but I'd like to even see missions posted that aren't computer generated. For example, some arm-chair general wants to hit strats but wants the advantage of not having his strike noticed until he gets close. So he posts these missions;
1. Hit the radar at airfield 1 between 12:00 and 12:30.
2. Hit the radar at airfield 2 between 12:00 and 12:30.
3. Hit the radar at airfield 3 between 12:00 and 12:30.
(this allows him a corridor to fly through)
4. Drop the fighter hangers at airfield 1 between 12:00 and 12:30.
5. Drop the fighter hangers at airfield 2 between 12:00 and 12:30.
6. Drop the fighter hangers at airfield 3 between 12:00 and 12:30.
(this allows him to go in even safer)
7. Drop the HQ of country chesspeice between 12:00 and 12:30.
(for additional safety).
8. Kill 3 fighters in sectors 0,0 and 0,1 between 12:00 and 12:30.
----------------------------------------
Perhaps the player who posted the mission can even sweeten the deal by offering up to twice as many perks as the run would normally grant from his own pool as a reward. I would probably make wonky missions like 'Use Val to kill 3 Latewar fighters', it might spice things up overall.
Frankly, this would be preferable instead of all those silly 'MISSION UP!!!1111!!111' channel 2 spams that are done. It would also give the game some structure which some players crave.

I like this idea. Agree that if it's tied to perks, it would be a way to get players to break out of their comfort zone.

fish while I understand you want diversity in the game, the new players already have a hard time taking off already and some of what you think are easy planes arent so easy to a new guy.
for example when I started many moons ago, I could barely take off and it took me about a week or two how to get a kill. I would up a 109 and crash into any red plane as I knew some of the 109's are more survivable than the other planes.
as players get more comfortable they eventually will pick a handful of airplanes that they will be more willing to fly and most wont "venture" out into the type of planes that you fly. You are one of the few players that actually likes to try new things but there arent many like you. you like the challenge of trying a new plane until you master it as I have seen you do it many a time.
however tying more perks to a plane/mission is only gonna help those who have already been playing for a while but love to spend every single perk they get. anybody that has been around for a year and doesnt have perks to fly any perk plane anytime they feel like it then they better start rethinking how they fly instead of trying to find a faster way to earn perks to waste faster.

This is not something I would like to see added. The missions can change based on skill/plane picked but the plane choice is out of the players hands 100%.
fish while I understand you want diversity in the game
Yep that is one of the golds. I would love to see other aircraft given a run that are normally left because they aren't a P-51 or a similar glamour plane.
for example when I started many moons ago, I could barely take off and it took me about a week or two how to get a kill. I would up a 109 and crash into any red plane as I knew some of the 109's are more survivable than the other planes.

If we called it a "Challenge Mission" and allowed it to be optional with a settable difficulty then I don't see how it would be bad. For an easy mission like D3A loaded, go bomb a town... even a 2 week old player should be able to manage that.
Its just a way to let them explore the many game play options already in the game, but with some structure and a reward system for it.
This would work well with the achievements system
It was the Achievements ability to track distraction of objects that made me think of this.

totally agree with you, but what is gonna stop a long time player from milking the missions to get extra perks to waste on some bs 262 run. most of these missions would only be used by longtime player rather than new guys.

Nothing less then what stops players from milk running and going to MW, EW to farm perks.
If the older players what to use it then so be it. Its a new way to play and might keep some around even longer. If a few more perk planes start showing up then thats not all bad. most never get to fly them anyway and are very bad in them. I know I have planted enough 262s. right now I have <200 fighter perks and that is with me earning 10-20 from some shorties.
