Post by: 1MADDOG1 on April 29, 2013, 02:02:04 PM
So, where exactly is that office again where you can meet those geeks who run this game? :rofl Seriously, I'm making a quick run to Denver next week and will be there on the 10th & 11th. Wanna stop by the office on the 13th. Maybe get that ride in the RV8 since I've lost enough weight. :O

Good choice, 200hp, probabley about 12gph or less.  The 390 wouldn't be worth it (today, for only 10hp), although it would fit your RV sounds like.

...  :devil You should get a Pitts.  (or a "company" T6! :aok )

Dale,
Can we just drop in, or would it be better to try to make an appointment? Mostly I would just like to duct tape the extension cord that Roy keeps tripping over to the floor.
Seriously, my intention is to knock on your door sometime Friday the 31st of May.

If you did HTC would show you the data they collect that is not available to the general public. I think they would have to call the police when you try to make off with the data on discs.

My folks use to own an auto parts store in Keller back in the 70's, and my older brother still lives in White Settlement.
I remember as a kid watching the 52's, and F-111's taking off from Carswell. I use to beg my mom to park at the end of the runway after dropping my dad off at work so I could watch the planes. He was an engineer at GD back then.

Another thing, I'll be looking for 22 Long Rifle bullets while on my trip. If you got some, (at regular Wal-Mart price :D ) I could use as many as I can get. Need a bunch for the grandkids. Got back home yesterday after 4,035 total miles. I've got a few photo's to post when I can D/L them from my phone and camera. Learned of a couple of secrets about upcoming new vehicles and planes. Might show them off.... :devil  :rofl :devil  Nevermind the secrets. HTC would  :ahand if I spoiled it.

Pffft, that's what PMs are for.  *hint* *hint* *nudge* *nudge*

And somethingdoesn'tadduphere, I drive ~1,300 miles each year at least once (roundtrip, but usually 2-3 times) a year heading to NoCal for vacation, fairly straight line, and don't even get within ~4 hours drive from the state's border.  I just did a short 870mil 20-hr turn n burn to Phoenix couple weeks ago.  And you're saying you made it from Florida, to Vegas, and through Dallas at a hair over 4k....

I wished it didn't add up but, it does. It's nearly 1,900 one way. Then, add in the misc. running around. Last year's trip was 7,554 miles. Anyway, the Bahama's is up next come Memorial Day. A drive to Jacksonville to catch the boat. After that, the Dayton Gathering for June 22nd & 23rd then to Jupiter, Florida for the 4th of July. Late September, early October, another run to the west coast, Nevada, Utah & Arkansas. :bhead :bolt:

Dale, Doug, Dan and Carrie were all very gracious in hosting me for a while on Friday the 31st of May, 2013 when an ill wind blew me to the door of HiTech Creations.
Apparently, Roy was the only one who took my threat to come visit seriously, as he was on vacation.
Dale gave me a tour of their facility where I was shown the servers, all the offices, some "new" planes and vehicles that Dan was working on, got a report on the upgrades that are in the works, asked about the Christmas Special and was told they might start work on "it" soon.
Retaped the server power cords to the floor and took a couple of pictures of animals in HiTech's office....

This caught my eye
(http://i39.tinypic.com/34etijo.jpg)

And Dale suggested this one...

Keep this under your hats, but the sheep may once again be returning to Aces High.
Dale said I could mention that they are testing a new field capture system that could be coming soon.
It envolves the players controlling the troops who currently run into the map room.
The map room will be replaced by a sheep pen, and the troops will have to actually steal the sheep and herd them away from their pen a distance to be determined by the number of people controlling the troops.
I can not wait to see our sheep back in game.

Thank you, Dale, Doug, Dan and Carrie for taking the time to let me visit with you.

Waffle: Actually

Well that is very interesting. Looking at the books on Waffle's desk. There's the Soviet Combat Aircraft of the Second World War Vol. 1: Single-Engined Fighters and then I see a back cover of Squadron Signal's Yak fighters in action.

I'm guessing Yaks are getting updated as we speak. Hopefully there will be more variants coming!

Nice pics, thanks for posting!

If the economy was better and I thought there was even the slimmest chance to break even (selling rides, merchandise, etc.), I'd be pedling out our flying circus to the organiser(s) in Dayton in a heartbeat.  Maybe next year...  But seriously, the museum ended up with a clean schedule this month (June gloom weather keeps it light, but the cutbacks really slimmed it this year), and we'd rather be making some money and keeping these birds flying.

Ok, here are the new projects that I saw Waffle working on.

Was engine replacement time (about 2500 hrs), and I have not checked on it recently to see if it is complete.

HiTech

Speaking of engines, when (if ever) are we going to see a graphics engine replacement for AH? And not another AH1 to AH2 like update.

When was original alpha version of AH actually coded, must be getting on to 15 years now?

Don't hold your breath on that one, I've been waiting 10 years only to watch just about every other aircraft updated first and a long list of new hangar queens and a WW1 arena that lasted 2 weeks.

Let me know, I'll venture to Hemet or anywhere in between, and you guys are more than welcome to come out to the hangars in Camarillo.  The 30th will be my 30th, Reno is the week of 11-15, and I'll need to check the air show schedule too (usually a busy time of year, but with the military cancellations...).

Have fun in Dayton, try to mobilize the troops there to get me a business card from an airshow organiser (preferably one interested in a flying A6M3 and Hellcat act next year).  :aok

I will be at the Reno show at least Saturday and Sunday. If you make it, If we can hook up, I'll buy you a cold drink..unless it is cold, as occasionally happens.  :D
Will PM my cell and home phone later...just between the "air show" in Carson City and a daughters full contact football game in Reno.
Anyone else planning to attend the Reno Air Races?
Poof

There is an 80% chance I might be able to swing by 6/17 Monday AM.  Did you call Carrie, PM HT, or put up the skuzzy spotlight?

It would be interesting to see the operation, but they might be in bad shape come monday morning hehe.

Don't even knock. Just walk in. Carrie will dazzle you with a smile, tell her who you are and you are there for a tour. You will find most all very nice.

Word this weekend is we're trying (the proposal is in the mail) to get some of our planes and a few others in at Reno for statics and a choreographed "race" of WWII fighters.  We'll see what flys...

I will be at Truckee July 5-7th, we're bringing Man-O-War and one T-6 (SNJ5), and maybe another friend and his son is coming in from Vegas with his T-6 too to give us a hand.

Snoopy, when is the Reno races? Might adjust my schedule for it.

September 11-15, 50th anniversary I believe, should be one to not miss.  :aok

Now, the question becomes...  Did he know people would be looking for that sort of thing and put in a red herring?  I know I would.

As it turned out the 20% got me.  Got sent to Houston instead of FTW.  Where I go in FTW is 7 miles away from HTC (so says the GPS).  Oh well, Ill keep trying.  Wish I could give more notice but that's not the way it works.
